I would expect it to show "2" but instead it shows "0". Why?
It seems the find() method doesn't work on the newly created elements. Do traversing methods only work on elements that are actually in the document? If so, how can I traverse and manipulate freshly created elements prior to inserting them into the dom?
When I create a new div and insert it with .append(ndiv) to an existing div ndiv.width() returns the width of the parent div instead of the actual value. This is the same in FF4 and IE9 so I suppose this is a regular behavior and I just don't realize how to deal with it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an IFrame whose document is created completely by Javascript code at
runtime. The document in the IFrame accesses Javascript functions in the
top level document. This works fine most of the time. But every now and
then, when I hit the back button, the browser suddenly thinks the Javascript
created document in the IFrame is not from the same domain as the topmost
document, and therefore I start getting "permission denied" errors when I
try to access the top level document's Javascript functions.
If I look at the IFrame document's properties (Mozilla->This Frame->View
Info), it shows the expected URL with a domain name that matches the top
level document.
I've got an IFRAME it loads a page with variable contents. I need to know the WIDTH of the body of that page. I'm using offsetWidth and offsetHeight
Quote:
This is weird....offsetHeight returns the height of the document body. offsetWidth returns the width of the iframe!
I'm having a hard time getting this code to work...the onMouseOver and
onMouseOut events don't seem to be firing in IE or Mozilla...
var imgf = document.createElement("img");
imgf.src = "../files/img.gif";
imgf.style.cursor = "pointer";
imgf.style.border = "1px solid blue";
imgf.title = "Date selector";
// below is not working at all......
imgf.

I am trying to dynamically create child elements and add a background image before appending it to the parent node. Everything is working except for the image files actually appearing. When you inspect the element in Mozilla, it reveals that the li elements have all been created and attached, and even contain the "style" attribute. I am certain it is my reference to the image array that I am not calling correctly... how to use the array to reference the new background image? external js file:

I know that this is partially a PHP code, however; the portion that I need help with is Javascript so I decided to put it in the javascript category. This code takes the text contained in $code5 and puts it in a .js file. The problem is that when the text in $code5 is placed in the .js file, the backslashes () before the quotes (") are deleted. I need these backslashes to remain when the code is placed in the . js file. I tried adding a second backslash next to each backslah to see if that would work, but it didn't.

It's possible to style document.body not to start at 0,0 for example: body {width: 1000px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;} This means that X/Y of the body is not 0,0 but how can I find out what the position is using javascript? document.body.offsetLeft; is 0 and offsetParent is null yet if I position something absolutely at 0,0 it goes to 0,0 of the window, not the body!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make my body content scroll at the same time as an iframe located within the body. This has to do with the age old problem of mouse focus on iframes. When my mouse reaches the iframe and it takes over focus, I would like the body to keep scrolling until the iframe is right at the top of the screen. After that I want to relinquish focus to the iframe. I don't mind if the iframe starts scrolling as soon as the mouse reaches it, so long as the main body keeps scrolling for a while.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do this:
$(document).resize(function(){alert('yea')});
But doesn't work on firefox or chrome, only work fine on IE (WTF!) I'd tried $('body').resize... but happen the same. $(window).resize work fine but I need to detect when the body's height has been changed by ajax.
I'm currently trying to get the contents of an iframe's body without any mangling of content by the browser.I could do it by including the content in a textarea, however i want to avoid that.using .innerHTML results in special characters such as "<" ">" and "&" being converted to "<", ">", and "&"respectively.To test, build an html file containing:
{
"id": 5,
"testtext":"I am > than this & < that",

I use the following code to add a "click" behaviour to an element:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#element_id").click (function(){
...... do something ....
[Code]....
Part of the node I clone is the element from the first piece of code I quoted. The addRowJob function also changed the ID of every element in the node I cloned. This way all IDs remain unique. Lets say the element in question has the ID "#element_id". Now I clone the node (which includes the element) and the cloned element gets its ID changed to "#element_id_new".
Of course I now want this newly append element ("#element_id_new") to have a click event attached to, but even if extend my $(document).ready(function() to:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#element_id").click (function(){
...... do something ....
});
[Code].....
I simply doesn't work for the appended element.
My guess is that the $(document).ready(function(){ only fires when the document is finished loading. At this stage there is no element with the ID "#element_id_new" and therefore the click event can't be attached to the element. Makes senses...
But how do I get this click event attached to the newly appended element with the ID "#element_id_new"?
I'm trying to change the body colour of the parent window when a button is clicked inside an iFrame, using jquery. The code I have is as follows but it just doesn't do anything:

Does a contentEditable DIV have the notion of an internal document? I'm trying to convert code that uses an IFrame.contentWindow.document to use the "document" inside a contentEditable DIV but they don't seem to be similar beasts. Eventually I want to add stylesheets to the contentEditable DIV as well as event handling. I'm porting an IFrame editor to a contentEditable DIV based editor.

I need to capture the following events in IE 5+ and Netscape 6:
- Enter new address in URL window and click "GO"

- Click "Home" button

Basically, I have to see if someone is navigating away from our page

works. I am not able to understand why this is happening.

Basicly I have it all working perfectly with a "Timer" object value so you can set your own display length per picture but what I can't seem to do is make a cross-browser image fade transaction which works for background images, Here is the code
