I'm trying to communicate between a parent document that is controlled
through pure Javascript with an embedded IFrame containing an ASP.NET
form. I can quite easily pass data into hidden fields in the IFrame and
submit the form to pass data to the ASP.NET application.
Now the tricky part! (at least for me, probably not for everyone
else!), how can I set a field in the ASP.NET page (using ASP.NET during
a postback), which I can get the value of within the parent Javascript
controlled page?
I am wondering how Back, Forward browser button works for iframes. Does it bring back/forward iframe or top window? I remember I had before a problem because I wanted to bring back iframe and not top window as it did. But today I tested my Facebook app and was surprised to see it works as I need which means it brings back/forward iframe window and not top. Is it possible that Facebook has some javascript code which does that or is this normall behaviour?
I'm trying out uploadify to upload images & files. Got it all working fine and got it so that it inserts the filename as a hidden form element so I can grab the filename on post and insert into the database -
But I want to rename the file in uploadify.php and pass the renamed value back to the form, so far, I can only get it sending back the original file name.
Okay, so I've just installed a javascript that redirects to any random page from a specified list. The problem with it is, it's in an iframe and works as sort of an advertising area. So on the mainpage where the iframe has been placed, whenever someone uses the back button, it just keep going back in the iframe and choosing random pages. The back button doesn't work on the mainpage and instead is used in the actual iframe.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the iframe or the script, and I don't think I have the mental capacity to figure it out so I'd really value some help! Oh, and apparently the problem doesn't occur when using Firefox. Code:
when you have a page that contains an iframe, and then navigate inside the iframe, hitting the browsers back button will only affect the contents of the iframe and not the entire page. I've been searching all over for solutions and cant find one that works for my current implementation.
function ShowPage(frame) { frames[0].location = frame+'.html' frame.contentWindow.location.replace(newUrl); } [Code]...
I am trying to put together a proof of concept. What I am trying to prove is that a back button affect can be accomplished using DHTML and an IFrame. Here is the concept, as the user changes data, that data can be written to an IFrame. Then, when the user hits the back button, contents can be taken from the IFrame using history.back() since the IFrame should remember the content written to it just like a page would.
Here is my problem. The below code writes the content entered into the text box into the IFrame. But when I click the button to execute the history.back(), the value returned is undefined.
I think my problem might be that the code which writes the contents of the text box to the IFrame is doing that dynamically, so the page is not caching it. If this is correct, how can I write the dynamically entered content from the text box to the IFrame so it can be cached by the IFrame window? Code:
I have an iframe that contains x.asp:Code:<iframe name=chat width=90% height=50% frameborder=0 src=x.asp></iframe>x.asp is refreshed every 1 second using metatag. The problem is that everytime x refreshes, x goes top so the last line is not visible. What I need is a javascript that when x refreshes, scroller automatically goes to the last line
I am trying to do a simple ajax request using get(). All I'm doing is sending and ID to a processing page that will delete a record from the database. If the process is successful I am outputting "success" on the processing page, if not "failure". The problem is when I try to check for the "success" string in the get() success function, it never picks it up as being "success". Here is the code I'm using:
I validated that the processing page is indeed outputting "success" to the screen by going directly to the page and passing a valid ID in the URL. Also if I alert(data), it alerts "success".
I have a form with three select boxes. Box 1 has a variety of choices, but boxes 2 & 3 are empty. When the person selects an option from box 1, box 2 gets populated with choices. When the person selects an option from box 2, box 3 gets populated with choices.
This is handled with javascript through either onblur or onchange (still working on which will work best for this).
The problem occurs after pressing submitting the form and then pressing the back button. All fields maintain their data EXCEPT boxes 2 & 3.
How do I get it so that those two boxes keep the data like the rest of the form?
I have many tags. I want click each tag, then post/get the tag's value to another page. In another page, received the values and make a mysql query. Then return the resalt data to the first page(do not make an iframe).
I need to make an online payment ( external online payment provider different domain ) through the IFRAME. I am using ajax and it seems that it is not possible or desirable to open Other sites through ajax and it also does not go with simple GET or POST to pass the data.
The part of the code is here
1 STEP: is getting to calculation page where I have a small hidden form with the infromation which I need to send to IFRAME ( payment provider)
function submitform(event) { Event.stop(event); Lightview.show({ href: 'ajax/calculation_page.php',
[Code]....
How can I make it possible that with the button click in this page (calculation_page.php) to open an IFRAME and also to pass the values from the form to the iframe.
how do I pass url value to iFrame inside the same page, for example: I would like to pass [URL] to iFrame where is the function displaying all the items with value = 1. This is all on the same page.
I found this script for filtering data in a table:[URL]
However say I type something in the filter, I click a link on the page, and then use the back button...the form resets. Is there a way to prevent this/leave the table filtered?
For the first time in a long time, I've encountered a project with a single image that has many regions. Each region is a polygon, and will bind to a unique rollover event. That rollover event will pull back data for each region.I've thought of using a hidden image in a canvas with a black background, and a different color foreground for each region. Then, mapping the color the proper region data on the backend.I've thought of passing a huge Javascript object with keys that relate to a position in the image, and values that define the region data.Initially, I dismissed the idea of a good, old-fashioned image map, in an attempt to find something sleeker and sexier. But perhaps this is the best solution?
Now....that is all great...BUT, I need to pass another variable INTO the iframe like the others (var, vartwo, varthree) and I won't have that variable UNTIL I do some javascript function to extract a background color from a div tag. Basically, I have to pass a bgcolor into the iframe so the resulting page will then display itself with a color that matches the parent page. Its a backend process....basically, the backend app needs "backcolor=" appended to the iframe.....BUT the iframe is loading first...so how do I do this?
I'm new to JavaScript and i have hit a slight problem with a project. basically, my issue is with iFrames - in particular, passing a value from an iframe to the parent page. i am trying to find a way for to pass the url of an iframe source back to the parent. hardcoding the source, or using a form within the iframe is ok - however i want to be able to view any page on the web within the frame, and for the parent page to be bale to identify what url is being loaded within it.
