I would like to select all text in a cell for fast copying.
Copying 1 cell at a time.
I have a problem to solve where I have a Hidden set of 40 text inputs. A link to show 10 more of these in inputs at a time, all having unique ID's. The goal I am trying to accomplish is to set the focus to say the 10th input. If the "show more inputs" link is clicked then the focus should go to the next 10th input (really input ID number 20) and so on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having troubles assigning an onclick event to a cell. Im trying
something like:
cursorPoint.cells[3].style.cursor = "hand";
cursorPoint.cells[3].width = "20";
cursorPoint.cells[3].onclick = "alert('this is a test');"
cursorPoint.cells[3].alt = "Select the columns";
cursorPoint.cells[3].innerHTML = " "
Everything is just working fine except the onclick. I also tried:
cursorPoint.cells[3].click = "alert('this is a test');" (without the
"on") but also didnt work.
I am trying to get the value of a table cell that is generated by a php loop. The purpose is so eventually I can click a row out of a list and have it take me to a form view of the list item that is clicked. I've searched and searched for the last few days for something with no luck. I run across a lot of hits that tell me I need to have an id for everysingle thing I click on but there has to be a better way.
Code:
function test() {
var elTableRow = document.getElementById("tr");

I have a form in a table. The info for the input is in the row below the input. I would like the info to show when the user clicks on the input. I have some code that shows the info when it is in the next cell along, but I need the cell below This is what I have already var flyouts = $(this).parents('td').next().children('.flyout'); (I have a bunch of 'flyouts', one for invalid, one for info, etc.)

I want to select the table cell with id3, find the next cell, even if it is in a new table row (like this case) and then get the ID of this cell :-)
EDIT: This code finds the next cell in the row, but can't jump to the next row
// Find the next empty cell var cellId = $('#'1').nextAll('td:first').attr('id') // Result = 2
I added a test script to detect the change of a html select object and it is not firing.
The select is within a table row. The table id is: flogtable and the select is in the first row.
The test function I added is:
$('.symselect').change(function() {
alert('Handler for .change() called.');
});
if i have a <select> and i when i click an image i want to do an onclick event to select a specified option inside the <select> is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this code that changes the color of the table cell when it is moused over, but I would like to also have it do this:

My web page has thumbnail pictures, and when the user clicks on a
thumbnail, I change the image source of a full-size image elsewhere on
the page. I'd also like to change the caption of the full-size image,
but I'm not sure how to set the value of the text. I've tried creating
a form with a single input field, and I can set the value of that
field, but the field has a sunken style that I can't get rid of, and
I'd like to find a different way of displaying the text.
Is there an easier way to change the value of a text field?
I've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:
<head>
$(function() {
//function for selecting all or none...is there a way to make a single function that passes in a parameter to differentiate between selecting all or selecting none, or do I need a separate function for both?[code]....
I got a table with some select, inputs and textareas in it. if i click a button i execute addRow function which populates the row and creates new elements in each cell (new selects, inputs, textareas). But i dont know why, when i get a child of TD where select is the tagName is undefined and nodeName is #text, for INPUT and TEXTAREA it works perfect.
Some code

In the following table segment, I have been trying to use DOM techniques to get the text values.For example in this line: (<span id="edit5_oname" >BOBBY</span>), I only want to get BOBBY. What's happing is if I use alert(x[2].innerHTML); it returns <span id="edit5_ownerid">8</span>.I have tryed various techniques like:
alert(x[2].data);
alert(x[2].innerHTML);
alert(x[2].firstChild.nodeValue);

I'm currently working on a project which is essentially a clickable
world map. I have successfully mapped the image and using a
OnMouseOver = "Continent()" OnMouseOut = "World()" command in each
mapping line ie. <area shape="poly" onmouseover="NA()"
onmouseout="World()" coords="(lotsonumbers)".
In my continent functions I change the image using something like:
function Africa()
{document.images[35].src="/_View/images/maps/worldmaps/world.africa.jpg";
return true;}
This gives me the "highlighting" effect I was looking for when people
mouse over the continent.
However! my problem now is that I need to find a way to essentially
link that with a cell within the same table as the mapped image. There
is a list of the continents in the column next to the map (the map has
all the rows merged in that column). I need it so that if I run the
mouse over the continent or that cell both of them highlight at the
same time. I see the best way of doing this as having both call the
World or Continent function. However I have been unable to find any
way of setting a specific cell's background or text from within a
function.
Can someone tell me how to do this if it is possible?
I have a table based web site, and I would like to dynamically change the
text that is shown in a particular cell of a table. I give the cell the
unique ID label1 so I can get a hold of it, and I can get a javascript to
display the data in an alert box (this is just to see if I can access the
text) with:
mycel = document.getElementById('label1');
myceltext = mycel.childNodes.item(0);
currenttext = myceltext.data;
alert(currenttext);
But how do I exchange the text in this cell for something else?
I have a table where one of the cells has a background image of a solid color.
Code:
<td background="./images/background.jpg">
Is there a way in JS to create a text string that can act like a status bar marquee would and scroll text into or across that table cell?
When Googled, I see many examples of marquee's and examined one example of creating a text scrolling in an <input> box, but it's not what I need.
I'm not to handy with JS, so I don't know if it's possible or not or if maybe php can create something like this if JS can't?
I currently have a table where the current cell (cursor hover) is highlighted along with the top cell in that column and first cell in row.I want to assign the values in these cells to input text fields. The first column cell is identified by Col1Cell[0] where Cell is the top table data cell of the current column.I can access the value of the cell by Col1Cell[0].innerHTML But when I try to assign this value to a text field nothing happens.I have document.getElementById("tableID").fieldID.value = Col1Cell[0].innerHTML
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a php script that displays database data in a web table. As you can see from my javascript, i am getting the elements by id (getElementById("color")). Currently, only the first <td> with id='color' is changing when the value is entered. How do I make the text in other table cells with id='color' change color when the comparison value is entered?
Does anyone know if there is an event that gets fired off when I select text in a cell of a table in HTML????
I know theres a onselect event but that does not work. I need this so I can run a JavaScript function.
I have a table that is populated row and column headers, and data of course, I need to convert one of the row headers to a href that will reference a more detailed report. I have already gotten the parent/child relationship needed to pinpoint the data in that one cell but I can't figure out how to change it to a href using javaScript.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using a text field to insert images into a table cell. I have 360 images. the text field uses the onkeyup to change the image. when I type the number 1, the appropriate image appears. But when I type another number, giving me say 17 nothing happens.
The function uses parseInt to access the value int the text field. I'm fairly sure the onkeyup function is not retricted the the first character typed. Why would the onkeyup not execute after the second character is typed?
I have this layout
And then I have this code to determine the cell height.
So basically I need both my first and last cells to be able to have the mainbody cells height, but that code only works when placed in or after the cell being measured, in this case "mainbody", my question is this, is their a way to get the size of the mainbody cell before its done loading somehow?
