I currently have a table where the current cell (cursor hover) is highlighted along with the top cell in that column and first cell in row.I want to assign the values in these cells to input text fields. The first column cell is identified by Col1Cell[0] where Cell is the top table data cell of the current column.I can access the value of the cell by Col1Cell[0].innerHTML But when I try to assign this value to a text field nothing happens.I have document.getElementById("tableID").fieldID.value = Col1Cell[0].innerHTML
I'm using a text field to insert images into a table cell. I have 360 images. the text field uses the onkeyup to change the image. when I type the number 1, the appropriate image appears. But when I type another number, giving me say 17 nothing happens.
The function uses parseInt to access the value int the text field. I'm fairly sure the onkeyup function is not retricted the the first character typed. Why would the onkeyup not execute after the second character is typed?
Can someone tell me how to do this if it is possible?
I have a table based web site, and I would like to dynamically change the text that is shown in a particular cell of a table. I give the cell the unique ID label1 so I can get a hold of it, and I can get a javascript to display the data in an alert box (this is just to see if I can access the text) with:
I have a php script that displays database data in a web table. I also have a javascript code which is supposed to compare the value entered in a web form to that hard coded in the script and change the color to green if its below, amber if its equal and red if its greater than.
Below is my javascript code:
As you can see from my javascript, i am getting the elements by id (getElementById("color")). Currently, only the first <td> with id='color' is changing when the value is entered. How do I make the text in other table cells with id='color' change color when the comparison value is entered?
I have a table that is populated row and column headers, and data of course, I need to convert one of the row headers to a href that will reference a more detailed report. I have already gotten the parent/child relationship needed to pinpoint the data in that one cell but I can't figure out how to change it to a href using javaScript.
I'm trying to create a button that when pressed will remove the last character entered in a text field called "cell" using jQuery. Here is what I have:
The code below assigns a value to the Latitude and to the Longitude table cells when the submit button is pressed. I would like to have these values appear in text boxes instead. Obviously I need to amend onclick="javascript:usePointFromPostcode(document.getElementById('postcode').value, placeMarkerAtPoint)" to make this work but I can't seem to. Assuming two text boxes with names lng and lat, how would I amend the line?
I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right
i have an html text box (which is part of a from) to which a value will be entered by a user. i need to assign this value that has been entered to a JS variable.
So I am working on an excercise that the User puts in a Lastname, Firstname, and a score via textboxes. When the user pushes the add student score it should show up in the text area with this format " Brown, John: 92". When looking at the logic, I understand that each text box will need to be different arrays if im right, and then I will have to concat all three arrays into the format and assign it to a variable. Then assign the variable to the value of the text area. I just cannot seem to put the function together or how you would go about it. how to go about putting it together. The first code is my body of HTML I'm working with.
I want a text field's value to populate/copy on submission to 2 hidden fields value that resides within the same page. Example below <input type="text" name="county" size="5" maxlength="5" value="55555" /> <input type="hidden" id="age" name="yourcounty" value"" /> <input type="hidden" id="DOB" name="ourcounty" value"" /> For information this will be sent to a php file. How this could be possible?
I am trying to learn JavaScript--(complete newbie--and don't know C or C++). I've been reading "The Book of JavaScript" by Thau.
I don't see anything about table properties in the book. (I would like to try to write a script so that the background color in a cell in a table changes color (between two or three specified colors)). How do I get at the background color property in a table cell?
I have googled until my fingers bled and can't get a working answer to what I expected to be a fairly simple, common problem (but I guess not): I need to get the text value from row 5, column 3 of a table.
The user isn't clicking on the cell or the row or the table or anything like that. The table is dynamically built from the server side and I can't assign an id to either the row(s) or the cell(s), but I do have a table id and a table body id. How do you retrieve text given a specific row and column index?
what I need to know is how to get the value from the cells of a html table, for example I have the following 1 12 12 20w I need to retrieve the value of the position(1,2)=12Better, what I need is to retrieve all the values with cycles, something like
for (var i=0;i<($('#tabl tr').length;i++) { for (var j=0;j<($('#tabl td').length);j++) { var texto = [[row[i].sectionRowIndex, cell[j].cellIndex,
I'm working on an iPhone application that extracts data from a website using Javascript and displays it in a more user-friendly text box. Everything works fine and dandy, however, now that I've come up to the last element, I need to extract text from a table on a website.Basically what I want to do is find the balance, in this case '$17.28' from 'results_table', and have that stored in a variable. I've looked around on google with no real luck.
I have set up an HTML table with clickable cells (the cells contain only text). They work fine, but I would like to give the user some visual feedback to indicate that a cell has been clicked. I'd like this feedback to be the usual highlight on mouseDown, un-highlight on mouseUp, but I can't figure out how to do it.
I cannot change a site's dynamically generated code but I can add HTML/JS to it with jQuery. I have a three table cells in a row. I want to take the third cell and put it on a new <tr> The example code below illustrates what I am trying to do. The problem with using this
$("</tr><tr class='row_two'><td class='new_cell'> </td>").insertBefore(".third"); is that it makes a new <tr> but it closes that immediately instead of absorbing the <td> below it.
I have a form in a table. The info for the input is in the row below the input. I would like the info to show when the user clicks on the input. I have some code that shows the info when it is in the next cell along, but I need the cell below This is what I have already var flyouts = $(this).parents('td').next().children('.flyout'); (I have a bunch of 'flyouts', one for invalid, one for info, etc.)
Ok i am trying to move a select box from one table cell to another, i have played around and managed to get my script to read values......but struggling to move elements.Looking at the table below I would like to move the select box to the 2nd table cell
Is it possible to read the contents of a table cell. I have the below table and would like extract the value of the first cell. The first cell will always be a hyperlink so I guess I only need the contents between the "<A>" tags. So the first row should return ""434235". How can I do this.code...
