JQuery :: ReplaceWith Links Not Working In The Replaced Content?
May 31, 2011
I'm utilizing the replaceWith(); function on a page to simply replace content in one area with new content with corresponding buttons.
Problem is I really want to have slimbox on my images that I am loading into this new area, and the links will not work. Oddly enough the code recognized that it is a link, it just won't play the slimbox animation, it just opens the image normally.
The code I have in a function file linked from the main page (portfolio.html) is:
$('#graphicOne').click(function() {
$('#descrip').replaceWith ('<div id="descrip"><div class="floatRightPortfolio"><h4><em>"Embrace your Environment"</em></h4><p class="right"><a href="portfolio/embrace.html" rel="lightbox" title="Embrace Your Environment"><img
[Code].....
So basically there's a descriptive area on the right hand side, and the buttons are on the left. Inside the descriptive area is the title, and then the image.
Code... sometimes instead of replacing the content it's duplicating the returned content (usually happens if it's called to again on the same page.) what can i do to prevent this?
I am new to jquery, and love it so far, but I am more of a designer, not a developer. I am learning jquery to enhance my sites, and I am having a problem figuring out buttons.
I have them working in firefox and safari, but in IE links do not work.
I successfully loaded a list of links (e.g. <a href="info2.php">More info</a> into the #submenu div using the first part of the code below, and want these links, when clicked, to load their URL into the #content div.
how to write a script where when a link is clicked in the left nav column, it will display text in the right main column. So, when you first arrive to the page, nothing will appear in the main portion of the site. Content only appears after clicking on a link. When you click on another link, the previous content is hidden, and the new text is displayed. Here's what I have so far:
HTML <div class="container"> <div class="nav"> <ul id="menu">
I found a same issue somewhere the jquery replaceWith comments sections, I would just reiterate it as its the same problem Im having now,My requirement is that on click of edit button , Labels are replaced with Textboxes . Once user Updates in it . Once Update button is clicked , Text boxes are replaced with labels again with updated text .But problem is this works only once .If User clicks on Edit button again then , Labels are not replaced with textboxes ..as labels are virtual labels .Step 1 : Click Edit ButtonStep 2 :
$("#LabelID").replaceWith("<input id="txtID" type="text" value=""+ LabelCurrText +"">");Step 3 : Click Update buttonStep 4 : $("#txt1").replaceWith("<label id="LabelID">"+LabelUpdText+"</label>" ;Perfect.Step 5 : When user again clicks on Edit buttonStep 6 $("#LabelID" .replaceWith("<input id="txtID" type="text" value=""+ LabelCurrText +"">");Same code but doesnt work.. or say it doesnt get replaced with.I have almost the same scenario, with some twist, so here's mine,I click a link -> load the details of the link on a modal -> do some editing on the modal -> save(without closing the modal) -> update the data on the modal
it works for the first time, but succeeding clicks no longer results as expected (there are sometimes its not firing also).
I have several drop down lists of links with one of the drop downs being a "My Favorites". My intent is that when the user clicks on a star image next to the links, it is cloned and appended to the favorites menu, where it can then be drag and drop sorted. To remove the link from the favorites menu, the user can either click on the "x" button to the right of the link on the favorites menu, or unselect the star on the main menus.
I have successfully cloned the link and appended it to the favorites menu by selecting the star and enabled the drag and drop sorting, but I am having trouble removing the link form the favorites menu when unselecting the star and when clicking on the "x". Here is what I have so far:
var me = ''; $('div.star').toggle(function(me){ var me = $(this).next('a').text(); $(this).addClass('favorite').next('a').clone(true).appendTo('ul#myFavs1').wrap('<li></li>').before("<div class='dragHandle'><img class='png' src='_images/dragHandle4.png' width='11' height='11' /></div>").after("<div class='remove' title='Remove from Favorites'></div>").attr('id', me); return me;}, function(me){[CODE]...
So, I clone the link, wrap it, add a drag handle and the 'x' button, give it an id of the text of the link which all works fine. I have a different part of the script that uses the drag handle to drag and drop the links...that works fine. The issues I am having are that unselecting the star does not remove the link from the favorites drop down and clicking on the 'x' does not even fire the alert. The z-index on the 'x' is higher than all the other elements in the li.
I'm using a jquery slider for displaying content on a webpage.

Like in the first examples i have 5 panels, and i have a meta navigation, contact, links ect. all thedifferent content for the meta-navigation is displayed via jquery in panel 5, and is working fine.
Now my question; when the user is for example on the second panel, and the clicks on links, the page should show panel 5 (which is the index page(default.asp)), and then show only the content for the links.
I tried different stuff for loading the defautl.asp page, but it doesn't work. how do i tell, that if i click on the link wirh class="kontakt" the page should load the default.asp, and THEN do all the jquery stuff?
Below is one example, what i tried, but did not work.
I have a page where there is a list of items and a drop container. When I drag item, the other items below the one that is being dragged moves up. Can other items stay in their respective positions when one of the item is dragged away?I have list of items like this:
I am creating a several step sign up process for our company. I want a new div for each step along the way. I will then either accordian or some other style for them as the customer progresses through the process.
I want to use a hierarchy like div#step1 -->content div#step2 -->content
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
I have an expandable menu (not an accordion), that needs to toggle div elements below it. If I put the click event on the h3 of the menu, it works fine but as soon as I put it on the link, it doesn't work.
I've been trying to make my very ajaxy site more SEO friendly, lots of the returned actions from ajax can be retrieved as a full page, so it's just a matter of exposing the links. Up until now I've had 'span' tags which I have now changed to 'a href' so that the search engines will follow them. I've added the following code so that if the event should send an ajax request, it does that, or if it should go get the full page, it does that.
I'm trying to shrink some jQuery code by using replaceWith, instead of hiding and showing two different items. Since I'd never used replaceWith before, I created a test page, all it has has a div container, with class "one", and inside it the word One.
The jQuery code I wrote is below, it works to replace One with Two, when one is clicked. But clicking Two does nothing. I put in an alert to test what replacement is, and it is correct, a div with class of two. Yet still the second click doesn't return to One.
$(document).ready(function() { var replacement; $(".one").click(function(event){
I've been using jQuery for a while now but I never needed to write something from scratch up until now. Is it possible to use some if statements to replace (replaceWith()) a form depending on which of the inputs was activated? The objective is to design a quick survey tool with different forthcoming questions, depending on the ones given.
Testing page: [URL]...Testing info: username: claudion ; psw: bolibokhan Background: You enter some text in message editor textbox; press send; page (& not popup) appears stating 'Message successfully recorded...return to message'Send button HTML <input type="submit" value="Send" class="button2" name="post">
Limitations: Cannot edit template/html ...had to be done via javascript/jquery Objective: to replace Send button with a custom one such as one you press it (after message is entered) you be redirected back to your current page(URL) & 'Message successfully recorded...return to message' page is thus skipped.
Trying to replace text in a different div on a focus and change it back on blur. The first replace works, however the second doesn't. If I just comment out the focus then the blur works.[code]
Not sure whether this is a bug, but is is certainly unexpected behaviour. When i try to use replaceWith on a <div /> instead of a <div></div> (which is correct HTML syntax) it causes, not only the div but all code after the div to be replaced. see the code here: [URL] I will make a bug report if others also think this is a bug.
I want to use the the replaceWith() function in a html form with many select buttons to replace the select elements from a second button to other values when the value of a first select button has been changed. The html code is generated in a perl cgi script (I write this only for completeness).The function works but only the first time when I change the value of the first button (e.g. button "Type"). On the second change no more actions are done on button "Severity".[code]I added alert() debug functions in the javascript function getOneofs() and the output looks ok.So the var "selectCode" should be also ok.
I have a Google map (API v3) with one marker and infowindow which contains a link that I have placed in a modal dialog. The problem is that the link in the infowindow is not clickable, even though it reacts to mouse hover. If I remove 'modal: true' from my call to open the dialog, the link becomes clickable, and the new page is loaded. Is there a solution to this?
