I have a DatePicker , and a dropdown on my page. When the page loads, the datePicker shows the current month and assumes that no value has been selected in the dropDown. Once the dropdown is selected, I need to reload the datePicker based upon some data returned.

This works fine to get the value of the datepicker - But I need help figuring out how to get the YEAR from that value, the year from the current date, and then figuring the actual age.
I am working in ASP.NET 4.0 anduse IE8, Firefoxand Chrome for testing. Inside the web page I have a textbox and a drop down with 5 items. If the 4th item is chosen I want the textbox to become a datepicker.

I'm what you could call a total newcomer to jQuery. I've got a page with a jQuery DatePicker in which I wan't to block out some specific dates that are fetched from an MS-SQL database (I'm using ASP.NET). I've gotten so far as to understand that in order to accomplish this, I should create a .aspx page that returns only the blocked dates as a string. It's done, however, I really don't understand how I am to load the string into the jQuery script.. :P

I have a date picker with a textbox input for 'from' and 'to' the page loads with default values which display in the textboxes.What I want to do is: when the page loads, these values are sent to my SQL server, the server checks for entries that are within the range, then reports back on the page the results.Subsequent changes to either from or to dates should result in a similar call to the server for validation. no submit button, just change date = changed output.I figure the best way to do this is with AJAX. So I have a date picker, but how do I send the results to a PHP file to do what it will with them? I have a table with a date field in each row:
The table, and the input id element, are dynamically created from database records and I use jQuery live to initialize the datepicker for each field, like so:
The idea is that when I click in the input field, the datepicker pops up and allows the user to input a date. While the date shows in the input field in the table, the value attribute of the input field is empty. I can't use the getDate() method on the datepicker, since I can't programmatically connect the datepicker element in any particular row with the input element in that row. I tried the onClose method shown below, but that doesn't work either. Has anyone done this successfully?

I need to count if a hidden input has a .com , a .net or a .org.I am thinking I need to use a filter.there are many inputs that may have these values. I need to find a way to just countthe input values that have these.how would I do this. Would I need to use the filter function in jquery?

Now the problem is, I have set few additional show and hide <div> tags based on the values of some other fields. So when the form loads, the <div> tag doesnt show up and stays hidden only as the event that activates it is based on the radio button's change event function.
So my question is, as the form loads, how can I have these <div> show/hide based on the default values of the text fields on which they depend upon....

My mission: Open/collapse TD cells based on items selected in a list box. Getting no response from jQuery so I've done something wrong but cant quite get there. Listbox 'mainselect' contains option values that refer to names of TDs in a table. When a mainselect option is clicked, it will toggle to open or close the referenced TD list box by option value. Does hide/show make a TD 'blank' or actually set it's width to '0'? I want it to close, moving other cells left.

Upon some analysis, I can see that the css does contain the styles used by my div. So now, I would like to change the colors of the component, but I am not sure what is the best practice. Can one override in the div tag the colors, or should one duplicate the .css and change it?

I got a container as "inline-block", but cycle plugin change it to "block". It fuck up my page in IE. Is there a way to prevent it from overriding my display: inline-block?

I'm trying to change the default required field message in the validation plugin from "This field is required" to simply "Required". I tried to do so like this:

I was tasked with creating a CPA calculator in JavaScript. I am currently struggling with the part where I will convert the letter grades to Number (a=4 b=3 etc...). I have a switch case function that is working when I enter the spec. letter value, but it is not working when I try to use the array that I created. How I can get the total of the grade column to show up at the bottom after all the prompts have been run through and the letter grades have been converted to numbers.

I am 99% sure my problem can be solved using jQuery, but I am not sure how difficult it is going to be.in jQuery. As you can see, there are 7 different image boxes. At the beginning, all the images load at once, then after awhile 2 or 3 will fade to something else. Then, all 7 will fade together into something else. I would like to give each image it's own timeline. I want to do this in jQuery so it looks correct for every device (including iPhones/iPads).
