I need to count if a hidden input has a .com , a .net or a .org.I am thinking I need to use a filter.there are many inputs that may have these values. I need to find a way to just countthe input values that have these.how would I do this. Would I need to use the filter function in jquery?
View 1 RepliesIn part of my form, I have 3 inputs (one textarea and two text inputs),I am validating their value format using AJAX (each input triggers error message on its label in case format is wrong). Also I have one button, "NOT submit button" (type = button).Now, when clicking on the button it must enter the value of those three inputs in my database in case they are true then all inputs values must be cleared. In case AJAX validation is wrong and in case the user clicked on that button, the value of fields must kept as it is.
Actually I can not use submit button because I have it for the whole form and what I am taking about is a part of the form and it's not possible to make nested forms as I know it violates html rules. It's easy to make it if I am taking about submitting button as I can view session values on fields after submission in case ajax returns error.I can clear inputs from Javascript, but it will be cleared on both cases if AJAX validation true or wrong. Each input field has AJAX Error message that will be triggered when the input format is wrong.

I'm reading jQuery in Action for my learning and thought I could start with a simple exercise for my page: I have several divs of the class ".important_new" with headings in there which are links to the articles:

This results in displaying all the headings in an 8px font size except two of them (which don't have more than 40 characters either). The 40+ character headings also get reduced.
I've gone through it lots of times and changed a ton of things, but can get more than that. Can anyone see what my failing/s are?

I am working on an interest and investment calculator for a class project. On my list of drop down options, one of the options isnt an integer value like the rest. It's value is "other", while the other three are 1000, 5000, 1000, and 25000. What I would like to do is when the user chooses the "other amount" option from the drop down list, a prompt window will come up asking the user for an investment amount. I am having problems creating a function in my javascript file for this, and then taking the value entered and assigning a variable in another function with that new value so that it calculates with the users input. Please help. The first part of the attachment is the label with the "other" value I explained. And the second piece of code is my mess of a function that I tried to create for the prompt window to come up and store the users value and then change the value of the option.

I want to implement a text input box for SMS text messages and the messages are limited to 160 characters (including spaces, etc.). I would like the font color of the text to be green as the user types and any text beyond 160 characters to be red. I would like to do this with one input box, the same box that the user is typing in not a separate display box. This will be on the users local PC it won't be on the Internet.

Now the problem is, I have set few additional show and hide <div> tags based on the values of some other fields. So when the form loads, the <div> tag doesnt show up and stays hidden only as the event that activates it is based on the radio button's change event function.
So my question is, as the form loads, how can I have these <div> show/hide based on the default values of the text fields on which they depend upon....

My mission: Open/collapse TD cells based on items selected in a list box. Getting no response from jQuery so I've done something wrong but cant quite get there. Listbox 'mainselect' contains option values that refer to names of TDs in a table. When a mainselect option is clicked, it will toggle to open or close the referenced TD list box by option value. Does hide/show make a TD 'blank' or actually set it's width to '0'? I want it to close, moving other cells left.

I was tasked with creating a CPA calculator in JavaScript. I am currently struggling with the part where I will convert the letter grades to Number (a=4 b=3 etc...). I have a switch case function that is working when I enter the spec. letter value, but it is not working when I try to use the array that I created. How I can get the total of the grade column to show up at the bottom after all the prompts have been run through and the letter grades have been converted to numbers.

I am trying to use it to direct users to a search page based on the values of two drop down boxes. The issue i am having is that the code below works fine on a test page, but not on my test domain (with wordpress theme) and so i was wondering whether there is anything I am doing wrong... The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.
