JQuery :: Launch Datepicker From Textbox Based On Dropdown Item Chosen?

I am working in ASP.NET 4.0 anduse IE8, Firefoxand Chrome for testing. Inside the web page I have a textbox and a drop down with 5 items. If the 4th item is chosen I want the textbox to become a datepicker.
Here is my best attempt thus far.

Ok so let's say I have this dropdown with a list of these items:
PALCO
TRIBUNA
ORO
And in a button on the page I want to send it one of those names, let's say I send it ORO, and through Javascript select that in the dropdown list. How is this done? Do I have to iterate through everything, and how?

I have a website with several pages. Each page having the same menu.I need one of this menu item's text to vary according to each of my customers, where the customer id will be passed from an external link at launch time.I also need to change the menu item link <a href.../a> dynamically.I'm planning to create a redir.html pacge for each client and within that page, I can insert a url with parameters to launch the main page.

I see in a book how to use javascript functions from radio buttons to display text into a form textbox, but what I want to do is instead of display text into a textbox, to display images positioned by CSS. Im using a jQuery script to show/hide a div based based on the selection made via a dropdown.
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.

I am having trouble writing this javascript for my work, normally I would do this in ASP or PHP, but the environment I am working with will only allow javascript for dynamic function.
The form has two different select boxes and based on your options selected for select box #1 and select box #2, the hidden input field "redirect" (which is currently empty) would then populate dynamically with the URL associated with that combination mentioned below. The hidden redirect input field (now containing dyanmically generated data) would then pass the new value via HTTP_POST to .net script that will handle the redirect processing step fed to it. code...

Which looks to me as the coolest, shortest markup for such a thing I've ever seen. My problem is that I don't really know how to put the selected date into a text box <input> and to have it there in dd/mm/yyyy format? I want to pass then this data with other info from the form to MySql database.

If the screen resolution is small enough, or the window is small enough the calendar that appears when a user clicks the textbox for the datepicker appears on top of the textbox - usually it appears below.
I have some text links at the top-right of my page, and if the window is small enough, the datepicker calendar goes underneath these text links.
Is there a way to have the popup calendar ALWAYS on top of every element on the page? If not, is there a way to have the datepicker popup calendar ALWAYS appear below the textbox?

When viewing the page in 1024x768 resolution, the jquery UI datepicker is covering the text input to which it is attached. This input is
near the bottom of the page when viewing at that resolution, which seems to be causing the issue. I can't move the element so is there way to move the calendar? I'd like it to open with the bottom edge of the datepicker at the top edge of the text input.

This one should be easy. In fact, it was working for a long time as far as I know. Then I upgraded from jQuery 1.4.4 to 1.7.1 and a few things stopped working. (This is according to my client; it's possible it's been broken for a long time.)
So a customer logs in and sees his/her registration information. Name, address, phone number, etc... It gets this information from a MySQL database. For the customer's home address, there's a dropdown for the state (MA, NH, etc...) Rather than displaying the default specified in the HTML code, I have a bit of jQuery code that is supposed to change the dropdown selection to the user's home state as stored in the MySQL database.
Unfortunately, nothing happens. It rather than changing to the user's home state, it just displays the default state (AL, the first alphabetically).

I verified that $row['state'] contains valid data by outputting it as HTML on the page (my test data outputs "MA"). And I'm reasonably sure that this used to work in the past.

I have a DatePicker , and a dropdown on my page. When the page loads, the datePicker shows the current month and assumes that no value has been selected in the dropDown. Once the dropdown is selected, I need to reload the datePicker based upon some data returned.

I have succesfully applied the datepicker to a blank textbox. However, when I apply the datepicker to a textbox with the initial value dynamically set to display a value from a database, the date picker genertes an error when anything on it is selected. The datepicker will display when the trigger icon is selected but you cannot select anything from the date picker without generating the following errors: When selecting:
a day: 'undefined' is null or not an object (ui.datepicker.js line 767) a month or year: 'input' is null or not an object (ui.datepicker.js line 755) a back or forward arrow: 'settings' is null or not an object (u.i datepicker.js line 1137) I have looked at these lines in the file, but I have no idea where to begin.

I tried to use it in my app and I only have the first letter of each item in the dropdown list. So it is very difficult to select the good option I have search any information in these forums about this trouble, but no success.

perhaps this code is wrong and json format not good ? so, the first item of dropdown list is fine in the input box, but all items with only one letter in dropdown list. I hope any body can spend a few time and help me a little to understand that is wrong, as I could terminate my app.

I have two text fields one is TECH field and another is JOB NUMBER... If I type a number in the tech field and If I select a number from the autopopulated/autosuggested list of tech number(which is queried from the database) it should display a dropdown list of JOBNUMBERS associated to that particular TECH number. The TECH is not a Primary key in database)
