Display Value Of Selected Item(dropdown List) On Textbox?

I want to calculate student fees payment on my php page, but my coding here its not working. One more thing is when selected item click and its can display value of the item in other textbox(ex: if course Diploma Multimedia is selected, then the course fee is 19000 is display on txtCourseFee).I'm using java script for the calculation and save into mysql database. The code is here :

When I start typing a number I get a list of matching numbers and I'm able to select one of them with the mouse click. Now I have an other text box which should display a list of numbers based on the selection from the first textbox.

I have have some values stored in javascript variables. I have a
<select> dropdown list whose options correspond to these values. I want
to be able to select an item on the dropdown list based on the value of
the javascript variable.
Let's say this is my list and my variable:

<option value="default">--Please Choose a saying--</option>
<option value="hello">Hello</option>
<option value="goodbye">Goodbye</option>

var input = "hello";
Is there a way to select the 2nd option using using that variable
value? Something like:

I have a bunch of DIVs (not an <option> List) each of the class "SongListItem". For one of the DIVs at a time, I set a "Selected" attribute, so it sort of acts like a ListBox. So two rows in the list might look like:

Now I want to write a jQuery function which gets the ID of the SongListItem div that has Selected="True". So far, I have tried:

I am trying to display each array item per click in a textbox, so on the first click it dispalys array[0], on the second click it displays array[1]..etc.I thought this might do it but it seems it rattles all the way through to the last array item

I tried to use it in my app and I only have the first letter of each item in the dropdown list. So it is very difficult to select the good option I have search any information in these forums about this trouble, but no success.

perhaps this code is wrong and json format not good ? so, the first item of dropdown list is fine in the input box, but all items with only one letter in dropdown list. I hope any body can spend a few time and help me a little to understand that is wrong, as I could terminate my app.

I have two text fields one is TECH field and another is JOB NUMBER... If I type a number in the tech field and If I select a number from the autopopulated/autosuggested list of tech number(which is queried from the database) it should display a dropdown list of JOBNUMBERS associated to that particular TECH number. The TECH is not a Primary key in database)

I found this perfect javascript for creating dynamic connected drop down boxes. This script works fine but there is just one thing I want to add but unfortunately I'm not familiar with javascript enough... I want to display small images when an item is selected from the second drop down. An image should be assigned somehow to each selection from the right hand drop down menu in the code and when someone selects something from the list, an image should be displayed next to it automatically.

I was wondering what does the <Option Selected ...> in the drop down list mean? Does it mean that the indicated option is selected by default? I just wanted to confirm cause even if I remove the "Selected", it still shows the same option on loading...(assume selected is for Index of 0)

I have a select box with about 5 options. I need to have one of the options, when selected, display a second select box.
The second select box is populated by a database and needs to be preloaded
so the page doesnt refresh. How can this be done?
I guess could have the second select box displayed but disabled and it would
become active once the option is selected on the first select box.

I've got a couple of problems that I cannot figure out how to do.
1. I'm trying to create a list where clickable items are visible on a page and then when clicked they expand to read a text file and stay expanded until I click them again to collapse. I've got this partially working except when I click on the item now(machine1 for example), the item I clicked on is replaced by html/txt file(machine1_output.html). Then the links are not available unless I hit the back button in the browser. Instead I want them both displayed and I want to be able to see all the items in the list and have the items expanded too. The reason for this is I want to be able to click all the links, have them display what's in the html/text file and be able to do a CTRL+F to search for an item. Is this possible?
2. When I add a third item(machine3 below) to my list none of the items are clickable. code...

I have a long list consisting of a name and associated number, like this:
SITE01 2111
SITE02 4567
SITE03 5555
and so on.
I would like to put two dropdown boxes where the user can select either the name or the number. Then based upon the users selection have both the name and number appear. I'm thinking of putting all the data in an array and using the dropdowns to query the array.
