Launch Function From Radio Buttons - To Display Text Into A Form Textbox
Feb 22, 2011
I see in a book how to use javascript functions from radio buttons to display text into a form textbox, but what I want to do is instead of display text into a textbox, to display images positioned by CSS. My code is below. All I get is the initial display of radio buttons, the chosen one chosen, and that's it. No display of images. I tried even just using text and no. Here's my code:
I am building an online store where the customer can select custom parts. I'm quite new to javascript, but I've managed to create a radio button list, where the price is added from each section. I would like a box to show all of the options selected, not just the sum total.
I've included the text with value and used parseInt. I have been told I can use value.split(" "), but I don't really know how to go about doing that. I've been fiddling for hours now and don't seem to be able to get anywhere.
I would also like to include a 3rd value, another number, and add that one in a separate calculation.
E.g. For "50 5850ati1gb 56" I would like one calculation which adds 50 to the total, another calculation adding 56 to a different total and 5850ati1gb added to a list of all of the components.

I am not very experienced with this, so don't be afraid to talk to me like I'm stupid
I am trying to test out a basic xhtml form using radio buttons and text boxes. I want a user to select one of the radio buttons and have the focus change to the relevant text box where they can enter in the title of their choice.
Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Im trying to configuere a form that a.a radio buttons that allow the user to choose between quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies and show image when click on my radio button.how to get the image to display whenthey click on the radio button?
I am trying to set a radio button by a textbox value and also have the radio button be able to set the textbox. So the user can either select a radio button or enter in the text. Is there a simple way to make this happen? Here is what I have so far, which sets the radio button value in the text box. setting the textbox value to the radio button.
<HEAD> <script> var number=""; function getRadios(what){
I have a form consisting of nine text fields (labelled 1-9) and nine radio buttons for each of the text fields. I want to enable the radio buttons when text is entered into the field corresponding to that particular radio button. Is there a way of achieving this using a JavaScript onChange event?
i want to create some radio buttons associated to a textbox, and onchange the radio buttons this would put the value of the radiobutton in the textbox automatically. I.E: Imagine i selected the radio button "Option 1", i want this one to fill the textbox with his value that would be "option1". ___________ __Option1___
I would like to be able to display or hide fields based on whether a specific Yes/No radio button is selected. This is in conjunction with a posting a just made here in the same group related to checkboxes.
I am having trouble getting the following code to work. I just want to make the script in the head work, the html in the body is to stay as it is. I want to use an array. I can make it work very well without an array, using separate conditional statements for each radio button, but that is cumbersome. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong with the script in this code. I have stripped the page down to the bare essentials for ease of viewing. Code:
I don't know if it's appropriate to discuss a JS library here, but I'm wanting to use jQuery to toggle the display of content based on a selected radio button. Here's an example HTML
Obviously the idea is that only one block is displayed at a time. I'm happy to get the effect anyway possible, but I do want to use jQuery because I believe it will be easier in the long run.
What I don't know how to do is to use the value of a selected radio option to show a block with the same ID as the value. I'm also not sure if I'm correctly select a name when I use $("[name='toggler']").
EDIT: Actually, I don't seem to be able to select the radio buttons using any other method than $("input"). Even if I give each input the same class I can't select it using $(".toggler").
This seems to work perfectly across all browsers except for IE (latest version).
In IE the only problem is that the radio buttons have to lose focus before the span will change to visible. I would like the "specify" field to display immediately after the radio button changes to yes, rather than waiting for the buttons to lose focus.
I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?
I have a php-based form with radio-buttons with following labels - I've been trying to get the text-value of these labels, but I keep getting empty variables - it seems it doesn't pick up the value at all.
And then I have the following jQuerycode, which doesn't return anything: var radioContent = $("#"+prevTarget+" :radio:checked").next('label').text(); As for the "prevTarget" it's being populated, because if I change the above to this: var radioContent = $("#"+prevTarget+" :radio:checked").val(); It returns the value just fine. But for some reason it doesn't return the text from the label - and I don't really understand why. Test-page found here: [URL]
On the page, a person will select an item on a drop down menu, and this automatically updates two spans of text.In one span of text, I've included simple text inputs. I'd like to use Radio Buttons, but the script doesn't seem to operate unless its a text input.I've included the parts of the script that will effect the other span of text, but I don't see how that would be important to you, so I've left those portions in a faint-ish grey.Here is the script...
<script type="text/javascript"> function UpdateHistoryText(sel) {
then a text area and a button: <input size=7 name=total> <input type="button" onclick=c()>
the function checks for the radio buttons then outputs its value in text area.
<script type="text/javascript"> function c() {if (p1[a].checked&&p2[b].checked) total.value=parseFloat(p1[a].value)+parseFloat(p2[b].value) }</script>
my question is what is the possibility of giving values to a and b such as all radio buttons can be covered, is there a way to do this without having to output all cases with else if structure.
I have a Google Map running and get the country displayed to set a radio button for that country. The code retrieves the countryCode (variable is below) from Google, but I can't get the radio button to set. I am either not selecting properly or not setting properly. I've tried several things. Here's the relevant code.[code]
I have been making a javascript dice throwing app(? or whatever it's supposed to be called), but can't figure out how to make 2 functions for one button. I'm trying to have both of my dice (6- and 20-sided) to be controlled by the same throwing-button, but have radiobuttons to decide which one to throw.
I am using IE to hide sections of a form. When I display the first section (name='ea'), the form widgets are not clickable in IE nor do they accept focus. When I display the 3rd section (name='ec'), the items in all sections become clickable/accept focus. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Code:
I have 3 radio buttons with the same name ("myradio"). The value of each is a different URL (e.g. value="[URL]"). I have a link underneath these (<a href="#">Send</a>). I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes. Is there any way of doing this using Jquery?
I currently have some buttons representing letters and a textbox. When a button is clicked, its value is copied into the text box. I have an onkeyup event which means that every time a button is clicked, a function is called which searches some arrays using the current text box value.
However, the problem I am currently having is that the onkeyup event which calls the function works if I type the value in using my computer keyboard, but not when using the buttons (even though the buttons enter values into the textbox).
How I can make it so that when I press a button, the onkeyup event triggers and the function is called?
I am working in ASP.NET 4.0 anduse IE8, Firefoxand Chrome for testing. Inside the web page I have a textbox and a drop down with 5 items. If the 4th item is chosen I want the textbox to become a datepicker.
Here is my best attempt thus far. $(document).ready( function () { $( "#txtSearch").focus(function () { if ($("#ddlSearch").attr("selectedindex") == 4) { $("#txtSearch").datepick("enable"); } else { $("#txtSearch").datepick("disable") .....
I am creating a form for a registration that asks the participant if they have completed pre-requisite training. There are three questions they are asked. When they click yes, the text box for the requested information is enabled, when they click no, they get a warning that they need to register first.
Here is the javascript
The first one works fine (the SERE training question), however, the second one does not function at all. What am I missing to enable the second question to function like the first.
