I am trying to do a check on two password fields. As you can see below, I am doing an if satement on keyup to verify the fields are the same, and if so append a green checkmark.
Problem I am running into is on the if statement line #6 below, where I have :
$j(pw1).val().length >= 6 && When set to 6, and I put a six digit password into the confirm password input box, and shift tab back to the initial password input box, the image disappears. Upon tabbing out of password back into confirm password the green check mark will re-appear.
i have created one simple login form with 5 fields namely username,email id,password,retype password and phone no.i have created alert message for each function,so that when there is an error it displays alert message..now i have to replace all alert messages with inline validation(displays errors beside textbox).
below is the code for simple login form having fields username,email id,password,retype password and phone no. i have done inline validation forcheckName() .i am not getting for the other fields can u tell me how to do it..
I'm trying to make watermark labels for both my username and password fields. Currently the password field displays the password watermark in asterisks. I only want asterisks to be displayed when a user types in values. Here is an example of what my login looks like with the word password in asterisks when someone loads the page.
I'm working on a script to check password strength "onkeyup",so when the user enters a password after every character i call a function to check the passwords strength.I'm almost ready,but i stucked with one thing:I want to check the same characters in the password,so i can deduct some point from the score if there are identical characters.Here is my code:
var multis = 0; for(var x = 1; x < passLength; x++) {
This code will not work no matter what I do. function comparePassword(){ pass1 = document.getElementByName('password'); pass2 = document.getElementByName('cpassword'); if(pass1.value != pass2.value){ document.getElementById('matchpass').innerHTML = "Passwords do not match!"; }} <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-W3CDTD XHTML 1.0 TransitionalEN" "[URL]"> <html><head> <title>Game Makers United - Uniting game makers with the help they need</title> <script language="Javascript" src="javascript.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head><body>
All it's supposed to do is check whether or not "password" and "cpassword" match, if they don't it's supposed to put "Passwords do not match!" in the span "matchpass". I can't see anything wrong with the code and javascript is enabled in my brower. GetElementByName does not exist, so I switched it to getElementById and it works perfectly.
Basically I'm using the plugin to validate a form. I've got the basics set up and working. Now I'm trying to use remote so that I can check for a duplicate email address. The problem is as soon as I add my checking script the validation stops working on the email field completely. It constantly says "please enter a valid email address" no matter what I put in the field. If I don't have the remote bit in my code the email field validation works correctly. Here is my site: [URL].
This is my code: login.js $(document).ready(function(){ $('#content form').validate({ rules: { title:{ required: true }, name: { .....
I have a form with a series of fields. Only certain fields need to be validated when certain buttons are pressed. The reason for this is mainly because I had to build my own wizard style setup with jquery so, even though it's one big form, only certain bits need to be checked as they progress. I tried to tweak the accordion example given by the creators but it can't really apply to my scenario.
I've simplified the code down a bit and it is behaving exactly the same way as the big form...which is to say it's not behaving at all.
In this code, I want it to only validate field txt1 if button 1 is pressed and text2 if field 2 is pressed. One odd thing to note, when I set it up exactly as the site recommended with one big mass validation and such, it would only acknowledge the existence of the first field even though they both had class="required" on them.

I am trying to check and see if three fields are empty and if they are then to alert the user saying to fill in one of the three fields. I tried this:
if (StreetNumber.value.length == 0) { if (StreetName.value.length == 0) { if (City.value.length == 0) { alert("Please enter a street number, street name, or city.");
am doing a check on my fields, so that they only contain certain characters and numbers. var validEntry = /^[a-zA-Z0-9@$&"]+/; but this also captures a space in between words as an error. can somebody please tell me on how to avoid this.
I'm having trouble getting two password boxes to work on the same page, which I created using the JavaScript Kit Encrypted Password Generator [URL].
I've used the code that this generator produces, with some modifications as given by cheesebagpipe [URL]. These changes enable the user to press the keyboard's enter key to submit the password (as an alternative to clicking the submit button), and will also refocus the text box and select the text in it if the user enters the wrong password.
The code works fine on pages with just one box (e.g. [URL]), but what changes are needed to make two work on the same page? (I'm new to web design and clueless when it comes to JavaScript, which I know isn't the most secure method of password protection, but will do for now).
At the moment, on pages with two boxes (e.g. [URL]), neither of the boxes work; this appears in the address bar instead: [URL] ('help!'=whatever has been entered in the text box).
I need to check all fields have values on click of button. The button already has a command but i need to check / run through the page for required fields. On find a blank required field then display message else continue with button next command.
If possible, maybe something that continues check on the form & display text this is required before making button visibe? I need to get this going else my project is screwed.
I have this Form, where there is a field that requires a number to be entered into it. How can I add the function where the number has to be re-entered into the next field, and match the original number field? I want to check that the number in both inputs is the same before the form will be submitted successfully.
This is a secure solution for password protection with JavaScript. It works by encrypting the password and the content. Nothing is revealed in the source code, and it cannot be beaten by disabling JavaScript.
The download contains three files:
Protect Content.html lets you generate your own protected content.
Demo.html is a protected document, and as long as it remains unbroken, it's your proof that this software works. You can also use it as a template for your own protected pages.
Demo, with hint.html is another protected document that tells you the password. This is meant to show that the first demo is not a trick or a fake.
Im trying to pass fields to a javascript function that will check the value of each field and it its empty then it will turn the field color red which is what its doing at the moment, but i want to be able to use this function globaly through out my project, so is there a way of not saying how many fields go in to that array, it will just deal with the amount of fields it gets passed?
So the following code hides/shows fields in a form when radio buttons are clicked, the problem is on the same form I have a checkbox and when said check box is selected the showing and hiding of the fields doesn't work.
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">[code]...........
I need to create a form that expands or collapses with more or less fields to fill in when the user selects or deselects a check box on it. This form also needs to be secure. What is the best way to accomplish this?
Here is the HTML: [URL] I'm trying to uncheck the selected radio button, then set the value to 1 (Yes), basically overwriting theinitialvalue to 1. I've looked at prop(), val(), and attr(), and just don't know where to start. Should I select $('#set_q157 input') or$('#set_q157 input:radio'), or each individual radio?
Do I need to each them, and check if its checked, then change its value, or is there a way to select all three inputs as just one radial button? It would also need to work if the input has not yet been checked.
I have a bug with jquery validate 1.9 and jquery 1.7.1, I am unable to validate a field of type password.With a field of type text, validation works well and returns this:[code]
