View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using this jQuery Form Validation Plugin [URL].. But unable to get proper tutorial to use it in custom way. E.g : I have written a custom form below.. My Query is how can I control validation on a form element.Say in the following textbox named txtPaymentFirstName only Alphabet and space allowed, no special character or numbers allowed , how to do that?
Also I want only in the following textbox txtURL, valid URLs will be written, how to incorporate that rule?

I need to validate a password to only allow A-Z, a-z and 0-9. I
thought this would work:
function Validate()
{
var passphrase = document.all.challenge.value;
var re = /[a-zA-Z0-9]/;
if (!re.test(passphrase))
{
alert("Please enter a valid password!");
return false;
}
else
{
return true;
}
}
however if the following is entered 045# - this is accepted a being
valid. What am i doing wrong?
I have added a method on jQuery validator like this
$.validator.addMethod('myEqual', function (value, element) {
return value == element.value; // this one here didn't work :(
}, 'Please enter a greater year!');
$.metadata.setType("attr", "validate");

Let say I have the following form. I need to put the error message of the checkbox a bit differently from the other element. The point is that I don't want the error message between the checkbox and the text. Let say I have:
Name: [textbox] error here (required)
Email: [textbox] error here (required + email)
Interests: (at least 2 checked)
[code]....
Im using the jquery validation plugin: [URL] The forms are generated dynamically using php, with the standard class 'required' the plugin looks for, however when it comes to adding my custom rules i want them to be dynamic, as the name/id attributes are generated based on what the id of the form is: i.e. the form ID is #comp so an input would have a name attribute of comp_forename, comp_surname so basically the validator is initiated by looking in the body for a form: var form_id = $('body form').attr('id'); Then how can icancatante the strings to created the name attributes dynamically in the rules here:

Iam using jquery.validate.js I have a forgot password page it has 2 input fields. 1. User name and 2. Email ID The user has to type any one of the field. How to validate this?
Username : <input

I have a form with a password the user must enter. The password has no conditions, but there is a checkbox next to it. Users have an option to choose one of two checkboxes. If they choose the checkbox with the password then the password is required, the other checkbox does not require a password so the form would not need to validate the password in that instance.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form with an e-mail, password and confirm password field. I also have two Javascript scripts, one for the e-mail field and one for the password and confirm password field. They seem to work together. But when I fill in an invalid e-mail address and a valid password, Javascript forgets to check if the e-mail address is valid and sends the form.How can I let both Javascript scripts work better together? Or does someone know how to merge these two scripts?Below the whole code:

So I created a custom rule following numerous examples out on the web for a dynamic text input, but for some reason it seems to be letting spaces through even though my regexp tests out ok to not match when the value is any combination of spaces...
$.validator.addMethod("noSpace", function(value, element){
return this.optional(element) || /^[a-z0-9][a-z0-9_ ]{0,70}$/i.test(value);
}, "Please enter a name starting with either a letter or a digit.");
$('#form').validate({
rules: {

The odd thing is, it will work if you type in a space followed by a character, but if you type in one space, or one space followed by x number of spaces, it just lets it through like it's valid. But yet when I look at the demos and examples that I pulled this from, they never let those scenarios go through.

how I can get my custom attributes to validate in XHTML Strict? I have to have it validate as it is for a class.Example of the form:
HTML Code:

Example of the JS:

I'm having trouble getting two password boxes to work on the same page, which I created using the JavaScript Kit Encrypted Password Generator [URL].
I've used the code that this generator produces, with some modifications as given by cheesebagpipe [URL]. These changes enable the user to press the keyboard's enter key to submit the password (as an alternative to clicking the submit button), and will also refocus the text box and select the text in it if the user enters the wrong password.
The code works fine on pages with just one box (e.g. [URL]), but what changes are needed to make two work on the same page? (I'm new to web design and clueless when it comes to JavaScript, which I know isn't the most secure method of password protection, but will do for now).
At the moment, on pages with two boxes (e.g. [URL]), neither of the boxes work; this appears in the address bar instead: [URL] ('help!'=whatever has been entered in the text box).
The full code for both boxes is given below.
<div id="passwordBoxes">
<div id="password2">
<form name="password1" onsubmit="submitentry();return false;">
<span class="WhiteLogin">Keyboard classes login</span>

How would you make a password feild and a retype password feild and they have to be the same?
View 15 Replies View RelatedThis is a secure solution for password protection with JavaScript. It works by encrypting the password and the content. Nothing is revealed in the source code, and it cannot be beaten by disabling JavaScript.
The download contains three files:
Protect Content.html lets you generate your own protected content.
Demo.html is a protected document, and as long as it remains unbroken, it's your proof that this software works. You can also use it as a template for your own protected pages.
Demo, with hint.html is another protected document that tells you the password. This is meant to show that the first demo is not a trick or a fake.

I have a form with multiple fieldsets which are visible conditionally. There are three submit buttons "Abandon", "Save" and "Save & Continue". Each button should validate specific controls of the form and submit it. I tried setting "onsubmit: false" and checking for "$('#myForm').valid ()" on click of these buttons., but that validates all controls of the form.

I have a formdivided into 2 fieldsets (see the image) : MASTER and DETAIL. When I press Add in the DETAIL fieldset a new item is added to an array where I store temporarly the data entered trough the DETAIL inputs and finally when I press save I send both the MASTER and DETAIL (the temporary array shown in the html table) data to the server. As you may have already noticed, I need to validate both MASTER an DETAIL, but I don't want the Save button to fire the DETAIL validation or the Add link to fire the MASTER validation. I've been googling for a while and though I couldn't find exactly what I've been looking for, I found that it's possible to add/remove a class (e.g, required, number); that gave me some ideas on how to simulate validation groups and here's the code:
<script>
$
(

Although this code allow me to stop the MASTER validation from firing when I press Add( and DETAIL validation when I click Save), I still can't manage to insert a new DETAIL if only if all of the inputs in the DETAIL fieldset are valid and, what's more I don't want the Add link to cause a form submission.
I have a select box with and onchange event to get the data from serever, <SELECT name="States" id="State" onchange="getData(this.value)" > Now i want to validate that if no value is selected from the above list, then it should not send the ajax request. How can i apply the Jquery validation plugin here?
