View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a customCycletransition. I want the slide to scroll left or right and simultaneously fade in or out to be revealed or disappear. To handle both directions in one transition I'm basing it on the built-in scrollHorz transition, which looks like

This makes the slide that slides out fade as expected, but the slide that slides in doesn't fade. It is suddenly made visible before sliding in. So it ignores the opacity that I set on line 9.
I'm using this validation plugin alidation/and it is great.However, it rejects dates like 07-14-2009 as invalid. Is there someway to add a list of valid formats?If not, should I write my own method to match that particlar format?

But .bind() method doesn't work.
Using JQuery validation plugin, it will work in css, class='required", but I use method to validate, it will not work. The coding is below. It will skip the validation and go to server.

In the following HTML code, when I change the value of one text field
then click "Modify" button, if the validation fails a message will
popup and the cotent of the form should NOT be submitted. (The actual
code connects to the database at the backend so I can check if the

It works well in IE6.0 and Netscape 4.75.
But in Netscape 7.1, if the validation fails, the message pop up but

My JavaScript Form Validation doesn't work at all in Netscape, but it works fine in IE.
I made some of the suggested changes which enabled it to work in IE. I couldn't make all the changes because then it didn't work in IE.
How can I enable this javascipt form validation to work in Netscape? When I use netscape, none of the alert boxes appear. It submits the form without validating anything.
In IE, I get all the alert boxes and everything is validated.

Using Firebug, my breakpoint in the method isn't being hit at all. Am I missing something? Note: I am sure there are problems with the validation method itself, but that is because I can't debug it yet. I am still very much a novice with JavaScript.

In the new version of jquery.validate (1.5.3) there is an option to get a remote error message from the server for invalid elements. I did not find what should be the exact response from the server for producing such an error message. From the documentation: "The response is evaluated as JSON and must be true for valid elements, and can be any false, undefined or null for invalid elements, using the default message; or a string, eg. "That name is already taken, try peter123 instead" to display as the error message." But if i return a string, isn't it evaluated as true ?

Im using the jquery validation plugin: [URL] The forms are generated dynamically using php, with the standard class 'required' the plugin looks for, however when it comes to adding my custom rules i want them to be dynamic, as the name/id attributes are generated based on what the id of the form is: i.e. the form ID is #comp so an input would have a name attribute of comp_forename, comp_surname so basically the validator is initiated by looking in the body for a form: var form_id = $('body form').attr('id'); Then how can icancatante the strings to created the name attributes dynamically in the rules here:

So I created a custom rule following numerous examples out on the web for a dynamic text input, but for some reason it seems to be letting spaces through even though my regexp tests out ok to not match when the value is any combination of spaces...

The odd thing is, it will work if you type in a space followed by a character, but if you type in one space, or one space followed by x number of spaces, it just lets it through like it's valid. But yet when I look at the demos and examples that I pulled this from, they never let those scenarios go through.
