Liferay 4.4.2 + jQuery 1.7.1Lib loads correctly (I use noConflict method because in Liferay there is 1.1.4 jQuery). I check for example $('someDiv').hide() and this works correctly.
But .bind() method doesn't work.
I have added a method on jQuery validator like this
$.validator.addMethod('myEqual', function (value, element) { return value == element.value; // this one here didn't work :( }, 'Please enter a greater year!'); $.metadata.setType("attr", "validate");

I'm running into an IE7 problem where the Visual Studio debugger is saying:"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method".Visual Studio is highlighting this line as the problem:[code] I then trim/lowercase it.The pertinent code block is below, the "lis" are list items I'm iterating over, I'm checking if the text of the li is equal to a dynamically populated hidden form field on the page.Code all works fine in Firefox, but throws errors in IE.[code]
I'm developing a website and am testing in IE 8 and am getting an error "Object doesn't support this property or method" for https:[url].... when I click on the error message on the lower-left of the browser window.This error comes on only when I am at the home page, then if I click on Lawn Care on the right. It is supposed to highlight the word and scroll to it. It is fine if I'm already on the Maintenance page.The site works in all browsers except IE 8.
This is a makeshift sort function for a table. I want to replace a div contents with a javascript function call. It works fine if I define the individual case, but the general case doesn't work. The problem lies with the +divHold+ part. It never converges to the passed value on the 2nd iteration. This is my Div:

I'm using this validation plugin alidation/and it is great.However, it rejects dates like 07-14-2009 as invalid. Is there someway to add a list of valid formats?If not, should I write my own method to match that particlar format?

I have a script that runs a sprite animation on the canvas, adapted from here: [URL] After wondering why it wouldn't work on Safari or older versions of Firefox, I saw this: [URL] and implemented the suggested shim. However, I'm still getting some errors that I can't explain for the life of me. To make this easy for everyone, I threw it in a jsfiddle: [URL]
is there a way in jQuery to bind variables to function calls similar as prototype.js does it? See [URL]
E.g. in the slideUp method of jQuery you can specify a callback that is called after the effect has finished. I would like to bind a variable to this call so that it is used inside of this callback as a closure.
Here is my issue,I want to highlight the differents inputs within a form The script works perfectly with Google Chrome, but with Firefox and I.E the current input selection do not highlight .
Using JQuery validation plugin, it will work in css, class='required", but I use method to validate, it will not work. The coding is below. It will skip the validation and go to server.
I've seen an other post talking about not being able to perform a .html().replace() also, but no one replied.
[URL]
Why is this? I ran into the same problem and from what I was seeing, the replace() was only replacing the very first match. My work around was pretty simple, I just keep running replace() until it was done, but I'm dumbfounded as to why this would need to be done.
while (newLastRow.html().indexOf(settings.placeholder) > -1){ newLastRow.html(newLastRow.html().replace(settings.placeholder, curTotal)); }
As with the other post, I'm dynamically adding html to the page using a template, where the replace() method is updating the IDs of the fields when adding a new instance.
What's special about the value returned by the html() method? Is there a different preferred way to do this?
When I try this the button text is changed and the button is disabled, but the form doesn't submit. In IE I get an error that points to theline that says:
b.form.submit();
and the error:
Object doesn't support this property or method
What's the difference between doing this code directly in the onClick event and doing it in a function?
