JQuery :: Select Div Based On Multiple Condition?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way of selecting a DIV based on 2 of itsattributes meeting a certain criteria. Say for example I have a variable called 'time', now if data-in and data-out (below) are 'seconds', how would you show the relevant DIV based on the 'time' variable.Assume all the below are hidden by CSS to start with.
For example if 'time'=15 it would show slide1 because it's between data-in (10) and data-out (20).[code]...

How could I add a class to a div that contains a div that contains a link that contains specific text, and name that class based on that link but with hyphens in place of spaces and all lower case? Here's specifically what I'm looking for:
<div class="my-div-one">
h2>Title of this section</h2>
<div class="my-div-something-else"><a href="url">My Special Link</a></div>
</div>
In the above example, I want to add the class my-special-link to my-div-one. Is that possible? How could I do that?

I would like to execute functions based on the value of a form. This is the code I have.
<input type="text" id="posttitle" value="Title" onblur="if(this.value.length == 0) this.value='Title';" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Title') this.value='';">
Now let's say I want to execute the function "myFunction()" onblur if that same condition is met, so not only will it recreate the value "Title" but it will also execute a function afterwards. How can I achieve this? I assumed I'd do something like...
onblur="if(this.value.length == 0) this.value='Title' myFunction();"
But that did not work.

I'm trying to do something that is slightly complex and I can't find any relevant examples in the usual places,I'm pulling a list of projects (and their IDs) into a select:
Code:
<select name="proj_id" id="proj_id" onchange='setValuz()'>
<option value="1" >1st Project</option>
<option value="2" >2nd Project</option>
</select>
Each project has two associated values, in addition to the unique ID:

I have a php function that list all of the countries from my database as a select option, then based on what the user selects for their country im using jquery to make an ajax call and get all of the states/regions for that country. This part works fine. I'm running into an issues, as when a user login's in to edit their profile, how would I make the select change based on what is in the databse.

I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data
1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table)
2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103).
How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2.
For Example:
If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100.
If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200

I have the following HTML:

This code block occurs several times. Sometime the first div ist just "inner" and the second div is missing.
Now I need to update the "new" DIV based on the height of the previous inner-new DIV. For one it works fine:
var height = $('#inner-new').outerHeight();
$('#new').css('margin-top', height*(-1)-30);
But how could I re-use this universally for all my boxes. It needs to check if the DIV "box" contains the DIV "inner-new" as first element, if that is true it need to update the DIV "new".
I tried several things with $('#box').each(function(i) { ... }); but couldn't come up with a solution.

I have mulitiple 'a' tags with different classes (aclass1, aclass2, aclass(n)) and I have multiple divs, also with consecutive classes (divclass1, divclass2, divclass(n)). Is there a way to select the 'a' tags to match the div based on its number (ie. 'aclass1' with 'divclass1' and aclass2 with divclass2)? For example something like this:

The first column has class "Source" and I want to add the class name "edit_allowed" if the contents of teh first td is "System".

It shows an input field when the select value is "dropped". The problem I am having is that if I select "dropped" it will display the input field, but if i select a different value AFTER selecting "dropped" the input field is sill displaying. How would I get it to hide the input field if it is NOT selected?

Basically I have 3 fieldsets
Field set 1 has 4 selects, for selects 1-3 I wish to show fieldset 2 and hide fieldset 3, and for select 4 i wish to hide fieldset 2 and only show fieldset 3
They all currently have fieldset ids:
fieldset 1 id = choice
fieldset 2 id = server
fieldset 3 id = forum
fieldset 1 currently looks like this:

I'm populating a select pulldown based on the value of a previous option on a pulldown
When I run it on the firebug command line it works fine, but when it is run in the source it does not populate the html with option's for the pulldown.
