Mar 14, 2010I have a page I am working and I am having some trouble with: I need to show and hide areas based on a radio selection. I initally started using the show / hide feature in Jquery but the problem is the elements need to be removed but then put back if the user selects the radio buttonagain as it has form elements that have validaion on them. The validation is still trying to validate the form elements becuase they are still on the page but just not showing. This is the radio group the user makes the selection from:

Jun 17, 2011I have a php function that list all of the countries from my database as a select option, then based on what the user selects for their country im using jquery to make an ajax call and get all of the states/regions for that country. This part works fine. I'm running into an issues, as when a user login's in to edit their profile, how would I make the select change based on what is in the databse.

May 4, 2010I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data
1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table)
2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103).
How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2.
For Example:
If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100.
If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200
JQuery :: Show/hide Form Elements Based On Radio Button Selections ?
Mar 17, 2011I have a set of radio buttons on my pricing page:
And a corresponding text_field input element div I'd like to display based on which radio button the user selects:
When the page loads, I'd like to see:
When the user clicks on a (different) radio button, or clicks one for the first time, I'd like whichever div is currently showing to be hidden, and the newly selected one to be shown.
Right now I have jQuery code at the bottom of my page that looks like this:
For each of the four options.
When the page loads, the correct div is shown, and when I select a new button, the new div is shown, but the already showing one isn't hidden.
I've read some posts that suggest using change() instead of click(), but others indicate that's problematic in IE.

Say for example I have a variable called 'time', now if data-in and data-out (below) are 'seconds', how would you show the relevant DIV based on the 'time' variable.Assume all the below are hidden by CSS to start with.

Apr 14, 2011It shows an input field when the select value is "dropped". The problem I am having is that if I select "dropped" it will display the input field, but if i select a different value AFTER selecting "dropped" the input field is sill displaying. How would I get it to hide the input field if it is NOT selected?

Field set 1 has 4 selects, for selects 1-3 I wish to show fieldset 2 and hide fieldset 3, and for select 4 i wish to hide fieldset 2 and only show fieldset 3

Nov 3, 2011My mission: Open/collapse TD cells based on items selected in a list box. Getting no response from jQuery so I've done something wrong but cant quite get there. Listbox 'mainselect' contains option values that refer to names of TDs in a table. When a mainselect option is clicked, it will toggle to open or close the referenced TD list box by option value. Does hide/show make a TD 'blank' or actually set it's width to '0'? I want it to close, moving other cells left.

Aug 2, 2011Using jQuery, the hide show part is easy. I need to show or hide a single section of a form based on the value of a select box. More specifically, if the select box is one of 30 countries, then show, else hide.
What's the easiest way to handle this?
