View 7 RepliesThere is a live search on my web page but the box of available options which falls below the 'input' field has a transparent background color. How can it be changed to non-transparent?This line below makes the background white, but all the text on the page shines through, since the default is transparent.

document.getElementById("linksearch").style.backgroundColor="#FFFFFF";

This instruction line does not help much 'cos I can't figure out the correct way to make it work:

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to select all elements where the height is set to 100%. Is this sort of selection possible using jQuery?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is technically a javascript question, but I'm
coding in javascript, so I'll try here first.
To overlay a section of a page I typically use an absolute positioned
<div> and call insertAdjacentHTML. By raising the z-index higher than
than the underlying elements this method works fine, except if there is
a window'd element below it, such as a <select>. My understanding is
that I need to use the visbility attribute to hide the <select> before
calling insertAdjacentHTML.
Each <select> element (there are three) is identified with the ID
"select_vis". I am attempting to hide the select elements using the
following code:
selvis = document.getElementById('select_vis');
if (selvis) {
alert('gonna hide the selects.');
selvis.style.visibility = 'hidden'
}
document.body.insertAdjacentHTML('BeforeEnd', theHTML);
The code is being executed, however the three selects stay visible.
Given the following input tag which is enclosed within a hidden div tag:<input id="X" class="Y"/> this call (id-based) locates the tag: $(this).find("#X")but this one doesn't (class-based)I couldn't find any documentation indicating find() working differently when using id-based vs class-based selectors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a page I am working and I am having some trouble with: I need to show and hide areas based on a radio selection. I initally started using the show / hide feature in Jquery but the problem is the elements need to be removed but then put back if the user selects the radio buttonagain as it has form elements that have validaion on them. The validation is still trying to validate the form elements becuase they are still on the page but just not showing. This is the radio group the user makes the selection from:
<input name="terms_usr" type="radio" id="terms_usr_1" value="1"/>
<label for="terms_usr_1">Credit Card</label>
<input type="radio" name="terms_usr" id="terms_usr_2" value="2"/>
<label for="terms_usr_2">C.O.D</label>

How could I apply a css style to a <tr> row based on the value of the contents in column 1?
For instance, on my table (generated from an asp:GirdView), column 1 contains a number ranging from 1.00 to 12.00. I need to show a certain background color for all rows whose value in column 1 is greater than 10.
is there a concise way of matching a bunch of elements by style - specifically the display -
Code:
var hiddenParents = $(this).parents('has a style display: none');
I know about hidden & visbile etc - but need to match elements specifically hidden (ie NOT those that are children of hidden elements too)
These are the code of the two different types of table I have in my page: <table style="margin-bottom:.5em; border:1px solid #CCC; text-align:left; font-size:95%; background:transparent">

I am using the stylesheet switcher on dynamic drive . Is there a way to change stylesheets based on a querystring parameter? Basically, if the query string includes "&StyleSheet=BlueStyle" then call and set the BlueStyle.css and cookie on page load.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAre there limitation on what can be set for css styles? I have a script which sets a unique id but I wanted to turn user-select off for that item. I thought this would work:
var
id = 'wrapper_'
+(new Date().getTime());
var
wrapper = $('<div id='+id+'></div>'
);
$(id).css({'-webkit-user-select: none;'});
The error I get is:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token }
I have the following HTML. I wish to select all the second column elements for only rows where the input is checked. For instance, if row 1 and row 3 was checked, I would want to select the td elements which contain row1_column2 and row3_column2.

<th><input type="checkbox" value="" class="checkAll" /></th>
<th>Col1</th>
<th>Col2</th>
<th>Col3</th>
</tr></thead><tr>
<td><input type="checkbox" name="cb[]" value="1" /></td>
<td>row1_column2</td>
<td>row1_column3</td>

<td><input type="checkbox" name="cb[]" value="2" /></td>
<td>row2_column2</td>
<td>row2_column3</td>

<td><input type="checkbox" name="cb[]" value="3" /></td>
<td>row3_column2</td>
<td>row3_column3</td>

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need help with an IE8 problem. I want to give as many facts as possible.

I have already banned less than IE8 from my site but have the following problem with IE8 only (works on Mac and Win in these"allowed" browsers:Safari 5+, Chrome, FF 3.5+ and Opera 10+):
I use the backgroundPosition setter / getter extensively in this animation-extensive site.
But it breaks in IE8.
I did hack this as the only way I could get IE8 to work in a frame animation algorithm, noting that I have to test for browser and version (ugh) and then use this getter:
The following is an example that appears to work but seems unstable to me: (note that "accordionState"references an object within a data store attached to the "page" element):
There are many other cases where I have get or setbackgroundPosition,especially in the 'over' and out' functions where I use hoverIntent.
As a great fan and user of jQuery, I am puzzled that this will not work in IE8. Note thatbackgroundColor does not work either, although I do use UI to do these sorts of things and it seems to work in IE.
I have such code:
<a href='localhost' onclick='$.post("index.php?action=ax&save=1", { tname: "basic", rid: "3", col:"id", val:$(this).prev().val() } );$(this).next().html(" Saved!"); return false;'>Save!</a>

I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data
1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table)
2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103).
How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2.
For Example:
If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100.
If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200
