Thus far I have it all setup in terms of the divs:
[url]
The setup is :
..then right_sidebar gets made the same height automatically as main_contents. I've color coded them to hopefully make it easier to see whats going on.
The code I'm using is:
As far as I can see its calling the right codes... yet it never seems to move #side_ads.
I'm aware there are plugins that do the same job - but I wanna try and avoid that if possible, as I'm pretty sure this should be simple to do - I must just be missing something.
Danged if I can find the thread, but I swear I saw a $.url() reference in here a day or two ago. It was beingutilized for parsing out the window.location or window.location.search parameters. I made a mental note because that was something I would be needing to do.
Now I can't find it, either because the search isn't finding it or I was dreaming about this function existing.
I rummaged about the API docs and didn't find it there either. Is it something provided by one of the plugins and not a function native to jQuery?
I am trying to make sense of the location hash etc. However, I have a few issues that I need to overcome in the process.I have 3 tabs, which need to create a hash and then allow return to that tab on page reload.This is what I need doing: firstly, I need to check the filename accessed and if it is the correct filename (say 'testing.php' or 'testing') then I need to check the GET parameters to see which ones have been called and exist, THEN I need to check the hash to see which tab to load.
I have some simple rollover code here where I take the rel of an anchor and show the corresponding html ID.
I would like to set the location of the appearance of the tooltip using jquery. So, basically I want to secure the mouse location and append it to the CSS.
I have a homepage with two frames. The left frame is the navigation menu with about 30 links to different websites. The right frame (frame name is "display") is used to display the content of websites when user click on the links on the navigation menu.Left Navigation MenuThis is part of the codes of the Left Navigation Menu:
My CMS won't let me customize their HTML structure they didn't give me access to their templating system. But they'd let me access their Head section were I could add custom Javascript and CSS. Example this would be their template structure:
The reason why the injections was structured like that is, I want the regular divs to be rounded. the Inject1, Inject2, Inject3 would be style in my external CSS. I think it would also be great if it was like a class that i can just be apply it to specific ids or class.
I load the content from json, but I lose persistence of location. I get the tree folded and I don't know what branch I'm on to. I managed to fix this by pasting the location code in .async.js, var sm = current.find("a").filter(function() { return this.href.toLowerCase() == location.href.toLowerCase(); }); if ( sm.length ) { sm.addClass("selected").parents ("ul, li").add( sm.next() ).show (); } But now the branch is marked as selected, however the tree is not open (all folded).
So I have an image, id="image", and I have coordinates and some other stuff feeding out of it into an array on a mouse click. Now what I want is for a small image to appear on the place where the mouse is clicked as well. I was told jQuery would be able to do this?
I have a small problem which I haven't succeeded to find any answer to. How do I get this to open in an external window? $("#id").click(function() { window.location=$(this).find("a").attr("href"); return false;});
I'm playing with the great Bassistance jQuery Validator and am stuck at a point The idea is simple: I have lot of this markup (I semplify, but the idea is that after each <input> there could be something else, i.e. a word, an icon, etc... that is "inline" with the corresponding<input>):
what I want to learn to do is have a feature on my website: [URL] where under the portfolio section there are multiple links (product, packaging, identity etc) I want different carousels to show up on the .index page when you click a certain one of those links. In old school HTML I believe you would use a frame but I know there is a better way to do it using jQuery. [URL](work section) does exactly how I want it to be except I don't need the fancybox feature.
I'm trying to force jQuery UI Tabs to work with browser locations (as in direct-linking or bookmarking), but having very little luck doing so. It feels like I've seen this question at least 50 times around the net, and the answer mostly consists of one of the following 5:
[Code]...
Hierarchically based tabs (hopefully something better than "level1-level2-level3") As I said, I know it has been asked before, but apparently I am now the only one struggling with this. So if anyone could give some suggestion on how to use jQuery Address, jQuery BBQ or any other method to accomplish this,
It was super simple to install and customize and I am more than happy with it, except for one little thing.
The position of the tool tip is not calculating properly. I attempted to see if was based on the position element in the CSS of the containing div, but I changed all of them around to see if it would make a difference and it did not fix the problem.
Changing the containing div to position:relative the tool tip actually moves, but it still does not appear in the proper place above the link.
If you go to this example page
the pop up selector is the text under the "Details" table with the darker background. When you click on that text, the tooltip pops up, but about 350pixels away from the text.
I'm trying to create a player stats page, for my gaming server. I spoke to a guy who knows a little about javascript, and he told me there's a way to use document.location.href to direct to a custom page URL.
For example, if I search for a name, and the results are displayed. I want to click the players username, and be directed to. [url] without the "username.html" actually existing.
I heard it's possible, and it would save me a lot of time because I don't want to have 20,000+ individual pages, one for each username.
I know that others have asked about adding a class to a navigation based on indow.location, but I couldn't quite fit my question within those bounds, so hopefully it's alright to ask here.RequirementAdd a class based on window locationComplexityThe current if/else method I have doesn't work correctly, because all subsequent URLs will have the initial word we're looking for,andI'd like to have the final else to be on nav id#3 - (because the url's there will all be varied and may change later so adding those specifically in the if/else seems redundant)So far I've probably explained nothing, so here's what the code looks like:
if (window.location.pathname.match(/(employees)/)) { $('#nav1').addClass("selected"); }
I have inherited some code that changes the behavior or menu links with submenus to open the submenu but I need it to both open the submenu and go to the link location.
Here is the code: $('#leftNav #menu li a').click( function() { $('#leftNav #menu li a').removeClass('selectedAccordion'); $(this).addClass('selectedAccordion'); $('#leftNav #menu ul.currentnav li a').removeClass('selectedAccordion'); $('#leftNav #menu li ul li a').removeClass('selectedAccordion'); //$(this).parent('li').addClass('selectedAccordion'); var checkElement = $(this).next(); if((checkElement.is('ul')) && (checkElement.is(':visible'))){ return false; } if((checkElement.is('ul')) && (!checkElement.is(':visible'))) { if(checkElement.parent().parent().parent().is(':visible')) { checkElement.slideDown('normal'); return false; } $('#leftNav #menu ul:visible').slideUp('normal'); checkElement.slideDown('normal'); return false; }}
How do I put back the behavior to open the submenu AND go to the link location? I found I could add location.href = $(this).attr('href'); and go to the correct, but then the submenus slideUp and are hidden again. I can't figure out why changing the page closes the menus.
Here's what I'm trying to do: When someone clicks on plain text with div of "hdrlink", then div of "slideshow" will close up using toggle. At the same time also need div of "headerNav" to move up 300px. When the user clicks "hdrlink" again, then "slideshow" reappears and "headerNav" move back down 300px (starting position)Here's the script:
I have a single web page that is broken into content sections that are all assigned element id's (home, about, services, and contact) and have a fixed navigation bar that points to anchors associated with each element id / page section. Since the navigation bar is fixed, it comes along with us as we scroll through the page. I've got a jQuery smooth scrolling effect that makes a nice transition between sections of the page when you click on one of the navigation links. Between the sections I have an image that looks cool as the page scrolls past between sections.
Problem:Since the page is kind of long, I would like to use the jQuery .hide method to remove page sections that lie between the current section of the page that is being viewed and the section targeted by the navigation link. At the same time, the .show method will be used to ensure the target section of the page is visible. Therefore, I need to include an exception to the list of elements that I am hiding - the element that I am currently viewing (and is consequently being displayed as the current url in the browser due to the anchor tags).ExampleFor instance, say you're viewing the "about" section of the page and you click the navigation link to the "contact" section. The "contact" link in the navigation bar is assigned the id="nav_contact." When you click the "contact" button, I've made the following jQuery happen:
That all works fine. The issue is when I use the back button on the browser to return to the home page the animation never triggers and the page remains unusable until a refresh. How can I have this page refresh when the user uses the back button and/or is there a better way to do what I'm asking?
I'm creating a pop-up (it's a timer for hotel guest broadband access) with all attributes turned off. But becasue I have location set to 0 the damn url keeps appearing in the title bar. This causes a major problem as the pop-up displays a countdown in the titlebar that the user should be able to see even when minimised and at present cannot because the url takes up all the room. Code:
