In old school HTML I believe you would use a frame but I know there is a better way to do it using jQuery. Using "float: left" & "clear: left" messes up the whole structure...
Any ideas how to display 9 items at a time on 2 rows?

Site Error Only On Vista And IE?
Nov 10, 2011So I have this client who has a web form, the form was not made by me, I am debugging it as it has error's it seems. He has had 3 clients in the past two days complain they cannot finish the form, when they get to step 2 and click the button to go from step 2 to 3 they get this error:
Type Error: Unable to get value of the property (error): Object is null and undefined.
Now to me that looks to be JS, but there is no way at all to replicate it! I have tried this same procedure in IE6(XP), IE8(XP), Chrome, FF and it never happens to me ever.
I am pretty sure it's JS related since the form is never reloaded for each page, it's a JS tab paging system for each step.
Now he did finally get answer's from two of the 3 that had problems. They only said they were using IE on Windows Vista. And user's are not the most techie so I have been trying for two days to get info from them and nothing, info like IE version and what toolbar's and plugins they might have installed. Nothing.
So I am left here at this point. Does anyone know of anything related in Vista?
I don't have Vista so I cannot test this. I am testing right now on 7 with IE8 and then upgrading it to IE9 to test on 7 with IE9.

It's on step two, you get to step 2 by finishing step 1 and clicking on "Complete Application" to go to step 2. It's when clicking on the button to continue from step 2 to 3 that it happens.
As I said I cannot seem to duplicate this in any way.
I was hoping someone had Vista and IE to test for me, since your a coder you can screenshot for me the error and what happens, maybe that will help ha ha
Or maybe this has happened to someone before, the form seems to be using Dojo as it's FW.

Nov 15, 2010I made a contact form for my website originally in PHP. I wanted to change it to JavaScript because that is the preferred way. Originally I had the form in my HTML file using a separate PHP file for error checking. For JavaScript do I have to make a separate page and call to it like the last time? I have put it all on my HTML page and where it was calling for the php page, I also put the JavaScript code. When I go to my site, the error checking is not working at all. There must be something wrong, but I haven't been able to point it out and I am very new to JavaScript. Jan 13, 2010We're using jQuery ajax quite a bit without issue. Today, however, we ran into an issue where the results of a query are not displayed.fyi... the following works fine in firefox. scenario:
1. load ajax "$("#location").load( url... )" used to retrieve results
2. using fiddler, we can see the results are returned as expected
3. results not displayed. look at the updated dom in IE8 with dev tools and the results are not put into the display area Additional info...
a. using $("#location").load( url, function(data) { alert(data); }); the alert shows the results are returned via the function call as well.
b. the #location is an empty div.. e.g. <div id="location"></div>
c. if we put some text in the div, it will be removed, by the call, but the results still will not display
d. we have removed all .show(), .hide() options
e. if we remove the ajax call and just do a $("#location").text("blah blah blah..."); the results are displayed
f. we have tried both 1.3.2 and 1.4.a1 again, every variation works just fine in firefox.t

Display Property Error Only In IE7?
Aug 12, 2010I have a page: [URL] that works perfectly fine in every browser I try, except for actual IE7 (it even works fine in IE8 emulating IE7). When you search for something on that page and have a display of results, each result has a link that changes a table row's display to visible, and hides the row when clicked again. It doesn't do that in IE7. here are no errors or warning in Firefox's Error Console. But IE7 has an "Error on Page" notice (which does NOT appear in IE8 emulating IE7), that says:

JQuery :: Best Technique For Changing URL With A Carousel?
Sep 27, 2011I'm planning on making a website which is mainly just a gallery of images.
The site will essentially look like one page with a jCarousel on it, when the user clicks left or right on the carousel, I would like the URL to change but for the animation not to get interupted.
I would also need to change some HTML on the page too, essentially each image will have a Facebook 'like' button and that will need to change to the corresponding URL.
The carousel is going to be database driven and dynamically built up with potentially 1000's of images, so I'm not sure what the best technique for this would be? I'm building it in ASP.NET / Ajax and using the SlideJS carousel [code]...

JQuery :: Carousel - Various Images Sizes?
Mar 23, 2011Anyone know a jquery plugin I can use for a horizontal scrolling image carousel with different size images. I Iike the plug in here as my client will be easily able to put new content using a simple text file. The problem is that the images will be the same height but different width so I get ugly spaces between narrow images. Is there a plug in that solves this or is there a way to manipulate the css for each image so as to adapt the width of the div ? I can add the height and width properties of the images themselves to the text file and that works up to a point , but the images display at their correct size but the carousel stops working.
