So I have this client who has a web form, the form was not made by me, I am debugging it as it has error's it seems. He has had 3 clients in the past two days complain they cannot finish the form, when they get to step 2 and click the button to go from step 2 to 3 they get this error:
Type Error: Unable to get value of the property (error): Object is null and undefined.
Now to me that looks to be JS, but there is no way at all to replicate it! I have tried this same procedure in IE6(XP), IE8(XP), Chrome, FF and it never happens to me ever.
I am pretty sure it's JS related since the form is never reloaded for each page, it's a JS tab paging system for each step.
Now he did finally get answer's from two of the 3 that had problems. They only said they were using IE on Windows Vista. And user's are not the most techie so I have been trying for two days to get info from them and nothing, info like IE version and what toolbar's and plugins they might have installed. Nothing.
So I am left here at this point. Does anyone know of anything related in Vista?
I don't have Vista so I cannot test this. I am testing right now on 7 with IE8 and then upgrading it to IE9 to test on 7 with IE9.
The site is here: [URL]
It's on step two, you get to step 2 by finishing step 1 and clicking on "Complete Application" to go to step 2. It's when clicking on the button to continue from step 2 to 3 that it happens.
As I said I cannot seem to duplicate this in any way.
I was hoping someone had Vista and IE to test for me, since your a coder you can screenshot for me the error and what happens, maybe that will help ha ha
Or maybe this has happened to someone before, the form seems to be using Dojo as it's FW.
I've been working on a WP site that uses a handful of plugins - several of which include java-script files. I've been having trouble with one of the plugins and have started the debugging process and noticed that the page the problem is occurring on shows a few java-script errors. [URL]. What do the "Object Not Supported" errors mean - and what would it entail to fix them?

I'm not sure why my ajax is throwing a cross site scripting error. I have a php page that request a page not in my domain. I have another page where my ajax requests the php page, which is in my domain. Then the error is thrown. Since the php page is in my domain, why would the error be thrown?
Setting and using a session cookie works everywhere else - Mac, PC, IE, FF, etc. - everywhere except with MS Vista running on the machine. I'm not sure what the problem is and a Google search didn't reveal much.
I'm currently having difficulty to debug this issue in ie7. When the page is loading, all carousel lists are exposed and content displays for a couple of seconds.
I made a contact form for my website originally in PHP. I wanted to change it to JavaScript because that is the preferred way. Originally I had the form in my HTML file using a separate PHP file for error checking. For JavaScript do I have to make a separate page and call to it like the last time? I have put it all on my HTML page and where it was calling for the php page, I also put the JavaScript code. When I go to my site, the error checking is not working at all. There must be something wrong, but I haven't been able to point it out and I am very new to JavaScript. Also, when I go to my page and right click for the source code, the JavaScript I have in there does not show up. Below is my HTML code.
I just finished coding my website. It can be seen here: [URL]
However, in Chrome 6, the bar at the top doesn't stay static, but moves with the page. This shouldn't happen, but I can't work out why.
Also, the options on the top menu are moved to the right on Windows Vista/7 (the OS is the only link that I can make between the computers having this problem).
With both of these problems, after trying for ages to fix it, I still have managed to accomplish nothing. I am also not sure if these problems are caused by the JavaScript, CSS, or HTML.
P.S. All of the CSS/JavaScript files can be found linked in the source.
Does anyone know how to disable print screen using Javascript in Windows Vista and Widnows 7? I search in the Internet and I found the following HTML can disable the print screen in Windows XP, but it does not work in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
this may be more of an "html" issue, but I'll wing it.
i've got a multi-language site, where the home-page of each language group features a link to a popup window that offers background info on site management. the popup is fired by a javascript function, when they click the site management link. there's also a "window close" function button so they can nuke it as they please.
now, oddly, people who search for my site in the chinese language on google, are sent directly to the site management popup window, which of course, opens in their "full" browser window, and which also has no links back to the main site, because it's meant to open only as an "accessory" to the main site.
my question is this: is there any way, with Javascript, that I could determine if they arrived at this window from "off-site" (ie, a google search), and therefore offer such "off-site" visitors a link back to the principal site, a link that would be hidden for visitors who clicked the popup window from my own site?
Basically, I registered for a free board at one of the various sites because my server doesn't support .cgi scripts. I want to know if there is a way to have the data from a form on my site post to the board site -A user would fill in my form, click submit, and a new post would appear on the board site -as if they had entered it there. If you can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. Here is my thinking.
A) I can't locate the script that they use to perform a "submit"; so I thought I might enter their <head> data (as far as xmlns, href, etc) in my <head>; that my website might call up their script files, css sheets, etc.
B)I could code my own Javascript function to send my form data to their site. If I knew how to simulate a mouseclick on someone else's site, I could have the script "click" there, paste the data, and hit the submit button. But I don't.
C) I could size their site down to the form itself and put it in a frame on my page
Option C is clearly easier, but I would prefer option A or B. I have time and will happily do the research myself; provided that I know if approach A or B is even feasible.
IM NEW AT THIS AND I'M WORKING ON MY FIRST WEBSITE. I USED iWED AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT WON'T WORK. WHENEVER I TRY TO OPEN IT IT SAYS: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/a2460084/public_html/beto/index.html on line 1

I'm new to jQuery and the validation plugin, I just wondered if it is possible to get the error messages to be shown in an error summary section instead of inline?
I am developing a web page . For this i am using Javascript embedded in html. In the application ,the user can input data via interfaces in the page which is chosen and read from a master xml file , the chosen data then needs to be stored and saved in a xml file.I have designed the web page in FrontPage.
Now the problem i face is while trying to save the output xml file i get error Permission Denied , error code 0 . This happens when i try to open the page in browser IE 6.0 SP2.I am using DOM parser methods for doing the xml manipulations/savings etc.urprisingly this works in another machine. Also can i use the all of the same javascript code if i want to run it in an IIS. Do i have to do some changes to make it server side javascript code.
I am working on a simple javascript craps game program. I need some advice since it won't display who the winner is, keep tally of who wins/loses, and the number of total games played. After using the error console there's an error with document.forms [0].thrower.value not being defined.
Site - [URL] Location of js and css - [URL] The jCarousel works great in all other browsers, but in IE, when you get to the end of the jCarousel it gives the "Error: 'url' is null or not an object" pop up and it won't let me use the left arrow buttons to go back.
I'm receiving the following error: Error: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: # However all the functionality of the script continues to work, I need to get rid of the error as it looks pretty bad on client's sites and want to make sure the script isnt doing anything funny. The basic set up is a number of Select boxes, When selecting an option in the select boxes, I loop through a JSON stock array to see if the item is in stock and to then enable / disable the relevant options in the other selects based on the stock record. The error (as far as I can see) appears on this line: $("#option" + nextid + " option").filter(function(){

I'm having a problem on a particular site I am working on.
The URL is [url]
The problem is that when I try to close the browser in IE on the main page I get an popup with an error which says: "An error has occured on the script on this page"
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

I have to click the 'Yes' button about thirty times before the browser will finally close. Does anyone have any idea what this is?
