IE6/7+Vista Check
Nov 17, 2007I run a small personal website and I need to check if my client is reaching my site with:
- IE6 || IE7
AND
- Windows Vista
How can I do? The script should work in Firefox too..

Site Error Only On Vista And IE?
Nov 10, 2011So I have this client who has a web form, the form was not made by me, I am debugging it as it has error's it seems. He has had 3 clients in the past two days complain they cannot finish the form, when they get to step 2 and click the button to go from step 2 to 3 they get this error:
Type Error: Unable to get value of the property (error): Object is null and undefined.
Now to me that looks to be JS, but there is no way at all to replicate it! I have tried this same procedure in IE6(XP), IE8(XP), Chrome, FF and it never happens to me ever.
I am pretty sure it's JS related since the form is never reloaded for each page, it's a JS tab paging system for each step.
Now he did finally get answer's from two of the 3 that had problems. They only said they were using IE on Windows Vista. And user's are not the most techie so I have been trying for two days to get info from them and nothing, info like IE version and what toolbar's and plugins they might have installed. Nothing.
So I am left here at this point. Does anyone know of anything related in Vista?
I don't have Vista so I cannot test this. I am testing right now on 7 with IE8 and then upgrading it to IE9 to test on 7 with IE9.

It's on step two, you get to step 2 by finishing step 1 and clicking on "Complete Application" to go to step 2. It's when clicking on the button to continue from step 2 to 3 that it happens.
As I said I cannot seem to duplicate this in any way.
I was hoping someone had Vista and IE to test for me, since your a coder you can screenshot for me the error and what happens, maybe that will help ha ha
Or maybe this has happened to someone before, the form seems to be using Dojo as it's FW.
Session Cookies Not Working With Vista?
Jan 25, 2010Setting and using a session cookie works everywhere else - Mac, PC, IE, FF, etc. - everywhere except with MS Vista running on the machine. I'm not sure what the problem is and a Google search didn't reveal much.

However, in Chrome 6, the bar at the top doesn't stay static, but moves with the page. This shouldn't happen, but I can't work out why.
Also, the options on the top menu are moved to the right on Windows Vista/7 (the OS is the only link that I can make between the computers having this problem).
With both of these problems, after trying for ages to fix it, I still have managed to accomplish nothing. I am also not sure if these problems are caused by the JavaScript, CSS, or HTML.
P.S. All of the CSS/JavaScript files can be found linked in the source.

Mar 29, 2006i have a list of checkboxes, the number of checkboxes is dynamic. All the checkboxes have same name. i am trying to get the length of selected checkboxes.

........ get dynamically.
when i try to get the length in javascript like document.form.name1.length, it works fine if number of checkboxes selected are more than 1, but not for 1.

The original programmer (who wrote this years ago and is no longer around) has a button that looks up the quantities in the database for the submitted items, and then displays a prompt if you selected a quantity that is less than the minimum purchase amount.The issue is if the user enters a smaller amount than allowed and hits the enter key instead of the "Buy" button, it allows the order.how to use the current code to also check for an Enter key submission.I can handle the PHP and the db lookup for minimum quantities. Check Before Posting The Form (including A Botdetect Check)?
Jul 18, 2009I have an .asp page for my customers which does just accepts e-mail information and passes this information to another .asp page. But before passing the info, a javascript checks whether the entered e-mail does match some certain rules. Rule1: If any input has been made at all, Rule2: If an "@" sign is there, if the"." is there and so on. upon pressing the submit button, the first rule works but the second rule does not. Could not figure it out why.

It is the function control() which validates the e-mail field. But it just validates whether the e-mail has been entered or not. The second check (with the @ sign) is not being made.

So far it's doing what I want it to do, when the document loads it disables
the button, and when the check value is clicked it would enable the button.
Now here is the problem, when I uncheck the checkbox the button is not

I just don't get why it's not working. I must be missing something,

Jul 23, 2005I'm building a multi-language PHP/mySQL -site. I'm also building a CMS for the site.
There are 5 languages. In the CMS fields for e.g. english
bodytext are called (id=) 'bodytext_en'.
German looks like 'bodytext_ge', etc.
The '_en' part tells us that it's a textfield for english texts.
How can i check if ALL english fields are filled out, without
defining each and every field separately.
Like:

Box 1 id=this
Box 2 id=this
Box 3 id=that
Box 4 id=that
If I click Box 1, it should also check box 2.. If I uncheck box 1 it should also uncheck box 2...I have to do it by id instead of name and cannot seem to get it to work.. These are input flags with type=checkbox....

Great till here, but if myvar changes its value and it does not equal 1 any more I have to reload the page in order not to see the link. What do I have to do to avoid that reload? what do I have to do to check myvar's value for changes constantly?
