You see when you click on the title, any text below it will slide down and reveal more content, with nice fade-in. Everything works well for me except that when the page is loading, you can see all the hidden contents before they hide themselves. This content should always be hidden.
i'd like to change some letters from a paragraph when i load in a page.
I can do in the following two ways, it works fine. but i do want the following way.

I am trying to change the background of a paragraph when the text on that paragraph is clicked.
The code looks like:

However it will not work.
What changes should I do in order to make it work?
I used on of the examples in SitePoint's new book jQuery: Novice to Ninja, and implemented it in a site I'm working on. I hide sections of the content, and expand them when clicked on (www.symboticware.com/projects/)
Is there a way I can make it so that when you click on one of the projects, your browsers scrolls down as much as possible, so that it is the focus in your browser. Much like using an anchor link, but with jQuery?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to develop something where on hover of a paragraph the background colour of a div tag that contained all the content changed correspondingly.So the html is something like this:

I did something simple first where the text colour of the paragraph changed on hover of that paragraph. Now that works completely fine. Here is the code:

but it does not work .get the latter code working so that the background of the container will change on hover of a paragraph?
I have an odd issue for which I hope someone has a solution. I'm using the jQuery accordion to display a list of links in the left column of a table. When I click to expand the accordion in the left column, the table data in the right column moves to the right for a moment and then moves back to it's original position when the accordion finishes expanding Here is a link to the page:

I have the containing div (#page) set at a certain height and the overflow set to hidden.. the problem I'm having is I want the #page div to be elastic so that it grows and shrinks to fit the child div it scrolls to..you can view the scroll plugin in use here:

Most Jquery I have seen 'pushes' the content above or below it up or down the page as it reveals the hidden content, the above example reveals the content over the top without pushing out any other content which is what I am looking for I have tried to take the code and everything works aside from those tabs!! View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problems im facing is when I use something like jcarousellite inside tabs. It works fine in browsers other than ie. In ie, the carousel loads fine in the active tab, but in the inactive ones it doesnt preload.
Basically when you click on a previously inactive tab, it displays nothing until you click outside the tab.
I have narrowed down the problem to this: My tabs use a css style where the inactive tabs set the display to none. This somehow in ie causes whatever jquery that is contained within not to load before hand. If I remove this display: none property, all my carousels show fine, but ofcourse so do all the tabs
i.e. they are no longer hidden when inactive, instead all are shown as overlapping blocks on the page.
Note: all elements used are div elements

I don't need the character height. I need the height of a paragraph that is wrapped once or more inside a div.
I need to know this because I need to make a fixed width div, that will adust it's height based upon the wrapped text that will be append to it.

I have a question about load(). I created a php script that simply returns <img src="something.jpg" class="myimage">
To test I created this code, the image loads fine and the mouseover works fine showing the alert dialog :
However, my trouble seems to be that if I bind mouseover to the class "myimage" nothing happens, like so :
Seems that the document would load the html first then the mouseover bound to the class (myimage) would fire off.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've almost finished employing the jQuery Accordian and Tabs UI functions on a website, but still have one remaining problem.I have a page using the UI tabs. When the page first loads the content of all the tabs flashes for a second or two and then the selected tab is displayed. After that the tabs work great with smooth transitions as expected.
The tabs on page load are filled with php include calls. Then I use ajax to refill the tabs base upon the users selections. That works fine without the load flashing of all tab contents. I did try switching all the php includes to jQuery ajax. The resulting page had the same problem with the content of all tabs flashing before the selected tab displayed.Here's some of my code:In the head:

I am trying to get contents of a page into a popup div when user clicks on the View sample plan link in the table with the id='plans' below.
I will change the contents of junk.php once I can get it working.
I am using the following code to hide a <tr>. The script does its job, however before hiding the <tr>, when the cookie is set to true the hidden content flickers for half a second before being hidden. Is there something I am doing wrong or is the problem in style.display="none";?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a page that has a a two part div system bioTop (top div) and bioBot(bottom div). The bioBot is hidden (.hide()) and shows with the click of the more text. Also there is clickable text to change the text in the divs from english to spanish and vice versa. The click for the top divs work just fine. The issue presents its self when the english or spanish text is clicked the bottom div does not take the new information or the text int the bottom div does not change. Can a hidden div have new information loaded into it. The page that the action is on is oncalllegal. The jquery for the english and spanish text is.

1) I have a series of divs embedded into a page, sort of like an FAQ setup. Each has a unique id like id="service1" etc.
2) i'm using an unordered list with each li being a hyperlink to the div id's
3) the div's are set up as name anchors ( <a name="service1">Service One</a. ) so I can hyperlink to them via the <a href="#service1">Service One</a> method
4) There's 22 divs and they need to be hidden until summoned. Therefore, I set $('.service').hide(); to make them all disappear.
Now, where i'm stuck is in how to summon them individually and have them appear when the appropriate list hyperlink is clicked. I'm using:

At the moment, ALL divs are hidden on page load, only the nav bar is visible. Is there a way to have one of the divs visable when the page loads? i.e the 'home' page.
