I have a modal that I am trying to set up and I want it only to display if there is not a cookie set. How can I check to see if a cookie is set before hand and then how would i add in the ability for the cookie to be set if the .close element is clicked.here is my modal script.I took a bunch of them and pieced them together and then added in my own code.
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#page').hide();
var id = $('#dialog');[code]......
well i have an issue with jquery and razor, but basically i want to solve the jquery problem first hehe.
[Code]...
So my problem is every time i open the modal window, its the same "name", cause in every div y pass a name in an input type="hidden" and i get that parameter from the url. but its always display the same name every time i open it.
I am trying to get a modal popup to display on an onblur event, but I keep getting a "'null' or is null or not an object" js error.I have seen many examples using
var _popup; _popup = $find('MPE'); _popup._show();
How would I be able to display $yes in the index.php page after the modal window of profile.php is closed? Or how would I be able to refresh the index.php page after profile.php page is closed?
I'm trying to get this code to display a message for a first time visitor, and a different message for a return visitor. This is the code the book I'm using is giving me.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-W3CDTD XHTML 1.0 StrictEN" "http:www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http:www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
We are using a cookie (written in javascript and url encoded and decoded) to store form variables so that when the page is reloaded we can keep the form variables. We are having a problem with the email address field - the cookie only returns the email address up to the @ symbol and we have narrowed it down to the regexp function....
When a user clicks the "Send Carol a Message" button and submits the form I would like the "Message Sent Successfully" alert to display within the modal window. Ideally, I would like for the modal to close after "X" seconds but this is not an absolute necessity
My requirement: Each time a visitor arrives at a specific webpage i want the main image on the page to be different, or more specifically, one of 6 images which will be shown in rotation. Solution: Set a cookie. Each time the visitor access the page read the cookie and display the corresponding image. Then increment the value and rewrite the cookie, so that next time they'll see the next image in sequence. NB: if the cookie does not exist (first timer) or is at 6, then the value is set to zero (and then incremented).
Problem: Can't get my coding to work. Specifically it just doesn't do anything - no error message, no cookie written. I'm a very novice scripter, as in I've cobbled the coding together from bits off the net that i think i've managed to grasp some kind of an understanding of. Very suck it and see - so far lots of sucking and no seeing!
Can I make a list of hyperlinks that users can customize and save as a cookie by clicking a button and automatically retrieve the cookie so it remembers their list next time? This is kind of what I want to do:
I am making a sort of text based game (Just a hobby) I like to do that sort of thing. So, anyway, considering all I can really do is code HTML, and very, very light javascript, I kinda need some help.
I basicly know how to do everything except affect & Use the cookies. So what I need to do with them is to
#1.) Have a code to change the cookie number, say... on the click of a button.
#2.) Have a code where it only displays certain text if the cookie is a certain number.
I cant code JS and have no idea how hard/easy this is.
If it is insanely hard & needs a master coder, just tell me and ill take it off. I dont want to be wasting anyones time.
I have an embedded system with a web interface. One of the web pages has a small JavaScript program that, when run on IE6, always displays the message that cookies need to be enabled:
if (document.cookie.indexOf('asm_session') == -1) { document.cookie = 'asm_session=0' if (document.cookie.indexOf('asm_session') == -1) { document.write("Advanced System Management access requires cookies to be enabled."+'<br><br>'); } }
This problem only occurs with IE6, not Mozilla. It also only happens on some of the embedded systems, but this problem exists for everyone running IE6.
The problem isn't limited to the Javascript code, either. On another web page from this embedded system, a cookie is set the normal way, via the HTTP header. This cookie is also rejected.
When I display any page that attempts to set a cookie, IE6 displays the blocked icon and says that cookies on that URL are blocked. However, I have set all privacy and cookie options to their most permissive. I've spent the past hour changing every option I can find that's even remotely related to cookies and privacy, and nothing changes. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
In my web application we are able to store large data in the browser cookie keeping in mind the limit of 300 cookies per cookie file, 20 keys per cookie per domain and 4KB max size of each cookie. We are unable to retreive this large amount of data immediately after storing through document.cookie in IE browser (The same works fine in Netscape).
Is there any limit on the size of the data that can be retreived using document.cookie in IE browser? Could you please suggest a solution to this problem I am facing.
I am new to Jquery and am having trouble. I want a button on a modal form to open up another modal form but for some reason it isn't happening. The code below is basically the code from the jquery user interface demo, slightly modified. can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? if your kind enough to take a look at my problem make sure you change the src's where the JQuery files are!
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
I'd like to know if there's a way to invoke a modal window, that is a window that make impossible for the parent to get the focus, and returns back to the opener a value.
My goal is to make an anchor that opens another (little) win with a representation of the remote content in a personal directory on the server. Once you click on a file, it makes the parent window display its name into a form.
If I did not want to generate this filesytem representation, maybe a simple "prompt" could satisfy my request... but I need something more, so I'd like to extend this concept customizing the return-value-text-field!!
I'm a newbie in mozilla web development. I've been developping apps for IE and Netscape for years though. After searching the internet (groups google etc..), I found a way to pop a modal window using a XUL page.
Here is my question: despite seing examples of how to return a value to the caller window, I have been unable to make this work. Is there anyone who would have a TESTED very simple example on poping a modal window that would receive one argument and would return a result?
I want to use this to pop a calendar page and return the date chosen. I have the code for the calendar, but I need the mechanism to get the date back. This window has to be modal by requirement.
i have a one main window from that window i am opening one modal window using showmodaldialog(m.jp...).
in that modal window i have a form. when i click save button in the form, the for has to submit and the modal window has to close. and the parent window have to refresh itself. Code:
How to get code of modal box in jquery having gridview of data.one of the data is to be selected and that goes in the textbox of main webpage which isimplemented in asp.net
Here is what I am doing:Someone clicks 'add buyer' link on my pageIn a modal box, I load the form to add a buyer. The form is loaded via ajax and then fills the div containerwhen someone clicks the 'submit' button, it should then look at the value of the fields and post to a scriptCurrently I can't get jQuery to see node within the loaded AJAX.
ive been strugglng all day to centre a DIV with javascript in the centre of my page. Ive created a modal popup and id like it to stay in the screen even if the page has been scrolled down. And no matter what i try i cant get it to actually hit the centre of the screen. I should add that im totally new to javascript but decided i cant avoid learning javascript forever so here are my pathetic efforts..
function ShowPopup(hoveritem, thepopup, theimage) { popVar = document.getElementById(thepopup);
[code]....
Ive tried loads of other things too, whats commented out has been my last effort. Im doing other things too in the function in case you wondered.
I have a javascript, calendar.js which i use to enable my client to select the date. This calendar pops up on the click of a gif image. But the problem is that this poped up window is not modal in nature(i do not want the user to go the parent page unless he selects some date in the calendar popup).
In the javascript calendar.js he has used window.open() function to pop up the window. i just want to know whether we have any attribute which when set to yes will make the window behave modal in nature.(just like resizable="yes",toolbar="yes", do we have modal="yes" ?)
i checked modal="yes" and it does not make the window behave modal in nature. Am i using the wrong attribute name?(modal="yes").
Do we have such attribute. If not what are my other options.
I know that we can use window.showModalDialog(), but i need to modify the window.open() function to make the window behave modally. Is it possible to do so?
There are so many plugins for modal dialogs that I don't know which one should I use and/or which one is the best... I mean, if there was only one plugin of this type including all the features from all the modal plugins, that would be cool. Which one do you think it's the best and why? Care to state the pros and cons of each plugin (or the ones you know/have already tested)?
I am stuck with an issue of getting my modal to pop up and out of theiframe and show on top of the parent page. I am using the jqModal andyou seem to have answers for everything but this...I have a parent page, that i can not edit, with an iframe thatcontains the logic for the modal. When the the modal is triggered, itonly shows inside of the iframe and i cant seem to get it to pop upover the parent window.This is the ultimate objective:OnLoad of the parent page, if something=true to pop up the modal fromwithin the iframe to show over the parent.I can get it to do everything that i need it to do BUT pop up outsideof the iframe....idk... i think i am just running in circles at thispoint....SO here is the simplified code that is nested inside of the parentiframe.... it loads the modal onLoad of the page, but its inside the
