I have created an entry form that I display in a modal dialog. I have two buttons on the form: "Add and close", and "Add and allow me to add another". However the only time my modal form will post back to the server is after the form has been closed. I want to do the following: The user opens the form in a modal dialog. The user enters data, and clicks the "Add and allow me to add another" button. The page sends the user input to the server, which adds the input to a database and updates a datagrid on the page. This updated datagrid is visible behind the modal form, so the user can see it happening in the background The form clears all input fields and the user goes again. Any code I write that calls the server (button click events, ajax calls, etc) are ignored, unless the modal form has been closed.

I am trying to show a modal window in a frame based page.I am creating the modal window with div tags dynamically.I am using below js code to set css properties of the div as below:
Code:
function setModalWinStyle(frame){
frame.document.getElementById('modalLogin').style.position="fixed";
//frame.document.getElementById('modalLogin').style.position="absolute";
[code]...
This gives me result of a fixed modal window in the center (but only looks like in center), relative to my Content Frame (which is the middle frame with other frames as Header, Nav and Footer frames).How can I get the width and height of the viewport for the whole page at a time to center the modal window relative to actual center of the page not just content frame. Also I need to calculate the resize factors, to make it center when window resizes.

I'm using the greatInline Modal Window w/ CSS and jQuery from [url] and it's working great. Now I want use it with an form in it:action="?" method="post"
When form is send the popup is closed, how can I prevent this? I think that happens because the whole page is send. Can I set an extra parameter so the popup opens when the page is reloaded?

I was told that the javascript code to my website needs to be removed in order for my website to be linked to a company's webpage. But I cannot remove the code the company is referring to code...
Does the IT Department at the company's webpage need to add or remove language that will allow my website to link properly? The company is asking me to change my website link but I cannot do that. Is the company uploading my link incorrectly? The company said "The JavaScript for your website is interfering and will not allow us to link your profile to your website."
I am very new at this and do not know what to do.

I'm using jquery colorbox to open a window when the page loads. However there is also a video player that automatically plays at the same time (flash). I'm trying to figure out how to modify the colorbox code so that the containing div for the video is initially hidden from view until the colorbox window is closed.
The function to initialize it is:
$(document).ready(function() {
$.fn.colorbox({href:"#inline_example1", width:"33%", inline:true, open:true});
});
Which I thought is where code should go to initially hide the div? Then I'm not sure but inside the actual colorbox code there is a function for closing the window. Is there a way to attach an event to that closing function that will change the hidden div to being visible?

I have a script that when you click on a form button it post the results in a new pop-up window - and doesn't change the origin window. I then create a close.window on the pop-up window to close it. I now want to make it so the origin page is reload/refreshed after the pop-up is closed via the link. I have tried a few things but can't seem to get it to work.

I'm opening a new window with window.open in javascript and i'm keeping his reference to make focus on it or detect if the window is closed or not.My code is working well in Firefox and Chrome (execpt the window.focus, but there's already an issue in chromium: [URL]
In Safari window.open and window.focus works well. But window.closed has a strange behaviour. If I close the new window without navigating in it, window.closed works after closing the window. But if a navigate to another page, window.closed return false, even after closed the window.Is there a way to keep the reference on my new window event if the user navigate to another page ?
here is a sample of my code (I use jQuery 1.4.2):
Code:
MyBrowser = $.klass({
window_ref: null,
initialize: function() {

I'm trying to force my users to close a popup window before they can return to the Parent window. I more or less want to "lock" the parent window and force the user to fill in the info on the popup and hit submit, which in turn will close the popup and then allow the user to continue working on the parent window.

I guess this case applies to both popup windows opened by window.open() and by showModalWindow().
I have two buttons in popup window, "Cancel" and "Save". If the user clicks either button, there is a "process" at parent window before close() at popup being called. The problem now is, if the user click the "X" sign at top right corner of that popup window, how to trigger the "process"?
I think I can do nothing in popup window since the closure is unexpected programmatically. Can I put some kind of listener in parent window to detect if popup is closed?

I need sometype of function to redirect the browser window to an ASP page that clears a few session variables and deletes some temp entires into a database. I tried this in the head:
<SCRIPT Language="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript">
window.onbeforeunload = function() {
document.getElementById("sessiondestroy").src = "closeSession.asp";
}
</script>
Thought maybe I could make an image "swap" with the closesession.asp page, but it doesnt work.
