View 5 RepliesI need to open a popup window from a PHP site and pass in some parameters to use in the pop up window. I have the params in an input box and need to get the val of the box into a param and pass it to the new popup window. All pages are local and in the same folder. The id of the input box is 'ddutykey'. The name of the new window would be showduty.php if possible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 30 or 40 different (going to different websites) links on many pages on my website, that I when clicked I need opening under the current window. (Pop-under) - but obviously needs to be done safely (no risk of being pop-up blocked??)So rather than just a target="_blank" - it would be something slightly more complicated, doing a bit of research perhaps the .blur method would help (Though really I have no idea)I'm using the jQuery library for other elements on the site, so jQuery would be ideal if there is a solution for this?If you click on "get code and open site" (Green button) - you'll see it opens up the website under the current window - which is exactly what I want to achieve (It also uses .toggle to switch divs (but i've done that part - just need help with pop-unders

I'm trying to create two bookmarklets:
1. Take the current URL of the page and open a new window with a URL based on the current page. Some examples (I use "->" to mean "this URL turns into that URL"):I plan to use these bookmarklets in sequence, first pressing 1 to log into the CMS, then pressing 2 to edit the current page.
I kinda stuck at this point on my php script, it has this javascript code and I stuck there:
Line 16:
echo("<script language="JavaScript">
function openptc(tpge,pnme,w,h){
settings="width=" + w + ",height=" + h + ",scrollbars=yes,location=no,directories=no,status=1,menubar=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no";
window.open(tpge,pnme,settings);
}
//-->
</script>");
Line 72:
print "<td><a href="#" onClick="openptc('./paidtoclick.php?adid=$row[linkid]&action=start&".session_name()."=".session_id()."','PaidtoClickPage','640','480');"><b>Click Here To View</b></a><tr>";
I think those 2 lines actually are my problem. This code makes the site open in a new pop up window. how to make it open in a new tab.
I have a piece of javascript that is generated like so...
strText += "<img style='cursor:hand' src='Resources/SurveyButtons/
Close.gif' onClick=javascript:window.open('ConfirmPage.aspx?
DisplayHeader=Yes&SurveyID=" + lngSurveyID + "','Results')>";
In the onclick event I want to close the current window then open'ConfirmPage.aspx'. Whats the best way to do this? Can I close the
first page then open the next, or should I be redirecting? If so whats the
best way to redirect using javascript?

HTML Code:
I have a popup that submits a link. After the link is submitted, I want the user to be able to close the popup and go to the submitted link in one click. How can I do this.
I have my reasons for using popups, it's hard to explain. Please don't tell me how bad popups are, I know they're bad.
Is this how it's done? IE 6.0 after opening bigger.html in a new page,
then shows the site directory contens in the main window. ?!
The popup page bigger.html shows a larger pic of a product. In my main
page I define a function 'open_popup' and call it for all the product
images, in case the customer wants a bigger pictures.
function open_popup(page) {
window.open(page,'Larger_Image','width=400,height= 300,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,statusbar=no,scrollba rs=no');
}
<body>
<a href="" onclick="return open_popup('bigger.html')">
<img src="small.jpg" alt="Small" width="50" height="50"></a>
Any advice? If this is a really bad thing to do then what's
reommended?
Basically I want some of the links in my page to open in new tabs (I'm
using Firefox) or windows if the user has their options configured
that way. And I want my page to remain intact as it involves some AJAX
and takes a while to load.
But ...and this seems to be a big "but"... I don't want the focus to
move away from the page I'm on. So techniques such as <a
target="_blank"or <a onclick="window.open(...)"aren't working for
this requirement. I even tried using a separate function and
attempting to return to the original window straight after using the
following function: Code:
I have a HTML and I am opening another link in a separate window using window.open() . The child window is something like 'http://yahoo.com' which is out side html. I need to refresh the parent window when the child window is closed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a script that when you click on a form button it post the results in a new pop-up window - and doesn't change the origin window. I then create a close.window on the pop-up window to close it. I now want to make it so the origin page is reload/refreshed after the pop-up is closed via the link. I have tried a few things but can't seem to get it to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI guess this case applies to both popup windows opened by window.open() and by showModalWindow().
I have two buttons in popup window, "Cancel" and "Save". If the user clicks either button, there is a "process" at parent window before close() at popup being called. The problem now is, if the user click the "X" sign at top right corner of that popup window, how to trigger the "process"?
I think I can do nothing in popup window since the closure is unexpected programmatically. Can I put some kind of listener in parent window to detect if popup is closed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to pop up a window and then do stuff(set flags) when the content of the new window is done loading. For this I am trying to detect the window.onload of the pop-up child window but so far I am unsuccessful. I believe my problem is that the URL of child window is on different domain, than the one of the opener(parent) so that the window.onload is not being called. Though this may change, at the moment I do not have access to the code for the page I'm opening up in the pop-up. Im pretty new to web development.
