Automatic Go To Next Input (Password / Serial Key)
Aug 9, 2006
You might know it from several games such as Diablo 2. You have to write down your cd product key in 3 different input boxes, and it varies in length e.g. first box has 4 numbers, second has 3 and last has only 2.
Then when you’re finished writing down your 9 numbers it will automatic change focus to the submit button.
You can do that in JavaScript, if you have an activation code or something else on your webpage, and it's quite simple to actually.
Place this code in your head section on your page:
<script type="text/javascript">
function toUnicode(elmnt,content)
{
if (content.length==elmnt.maxLength)
{
next=elmnt.tabIndex
if (next<document.forms[0].elements.length)
{
document.forms[0].elements[next].focus()
}
}
}
</script>
Place this HTML code in your body:
<form name="form" form methode="post" value="active.asp">
How can I send information to an input box, through a script?
e.g.
Here is a web site. [url]
It has an input box
Address:
When I type a web site address in the address bar (e.g. www.google.com) and click on I AGREE AND WISH TO SURF then it will visit that web site.
If I have bunch of URLS in a text file and I wanted to send that one by one to that text box, how could it be done, since I want to visit a few web sites and capture that page to a file (and I have a program that does that)?
I dont want to sit on the computer and type those urls one by one, how can it be sent through a file.
OK. I use javascript to dynamically set the visibility of #search_form to 'hidden' and the visibility of #stealth_form to 'visible'. In mozilla/firefox there is no visual difference. In IE the #stealth_form input box is 1 pixel wider, and when the change occurs it catches the users eye and looks strange.
Any ideas / workarounds? I know this is off topic for this group, but most on this group know an awful lot about HTML / CSS, and I thought it was worth a shot.
I have a simple product order form that's working nicely, but now I needed the radio buttons to select as soon as the client fills in anything for that product (I need to reciev the value associated to that radio button)
I have to change text input type to password input type and i am using jquery script. This script work for FF, Chrome and Safari browser but not worked on ie7, ie8.
Script is as:-
How can i update my script, so that it works cross the browser.
I have a URL that I intend to load into startup via a shortcut. I need to have input of email address and password for it not to become a pest at every startup.
When that is input manually I get a HTML which contains my DNS. Incidentally that would be nice to have that displayed on the screen.
Both email and password come as <td><img SRC="/homeparts/login_email.gif" WIDTH="67" HEIGHT="11" BORDER="0" ALT="Email"></td>
The following line is the one that accepts the input as <td><input TYPE="text" NAME="username" VALUE="" CLASS="login_box" SIZE="25">
The question is: Can it be done. The problem is for an elderly chap accustomed to C and C++ to be able to understand how. So some help which will make C , Java or Javascript make it do that and possibly pick off the DNS from the next screen.....
I want to create a input box the says Password inside the box and gets erased when someone clicks inside of it. Then when they type their password it is in asterisk characters.Can anyone tell me what extra scripting I need?
I only want to set the code to alert one when I am out of 'focus' but the alert keeps piling up if I click on the input field and out of 'focus' more than one?
I am trying to setup a password input that fist shows: "Password". When the user selects it (or focuses on it), it clears and becomes a password input. If the person, clears the password and leaves focus (blurs), the word password appears again.I did some research on this first. There is this article that requires creation of two inputs (hide one, show the other). I also read this article.Without confusing everyone, I am trying to do this simple and in a smart way:HTML BODY
I have an input field for the users name and I have one for their password. Now when they come onto the page I want to have the value for the username filed say "username" and the passwordfield should say "password". Then when the users focusses on the password input the input type should turn password so when they type their password it shows like "*******".
I have a list of serial numbers, a from and to set of numbers that correlate to a year. Id like to have a way to have a user enter a serial number, and have the year returned as the answer. For example;
100001 to 100100 = 1990 100101 to 100200 = 1991 100200 to 100300 = 1992
so if the user enters 100145 the answer 1991 would be returned
how to look for the correct code / function its hared to find the answer - catch 22.
I am working on a robot project, that is required to create a website to control the robot via serial port.. The website is plainly html, no linking to database is needed...
I have no idea how and what language to use and can JavaScript communicate with serial port? and how?
i have created one simple login form with 5 fields namely username,email id,password,retype password and phone no.i have created alert message for each function,so that when there is an error it displays alert message..now i have to replace all alert messages with inline validation(displays errors beside textbox).
below is the code for simple login form having fields username,email id,password,retype password and phone no. i have done inline validation forcheckName() .i am not getting for the other fields can u tell me how to do it..
I'm having trouble getting two password boxes to work on the same page, which I created using the JavaScript Kit Encrypted Password Generator [URL].
I've used the code that this generator produces, with some modifications as given by cheesebagpipe [URL]. These changes enable the user to press the keyboard's enter key to submit the password (as an alternative to clicking the submit button), and will also refocus the text box and select the text in it if the user enters the wrong password.
The code works fine on pages with just one box (e.g. [URL]), but what changes are needed to make two work on the same page? (I'm new to web design and clueless when it comes to JavaScript, which I know isn't the most secure method of password protection, but will do for now).
At the moment, on pages with two boxes (e.g. [URL]), neither of the boxes work; this appears in the address bar instead: [URL] ('help!'=whatever has been entered in the text box).
This is a secure solution for password protection with JavaScript. It works by encrypting the password and the content. Nothing is revealed in the source code, and it cannot be beaten by disabling JavaScript.
The download contains three files:
Protect Content.html lets you generate your own protected content.
Demo.html is a protected document, and as long as it remains unbroken, it's your proof that this software works. You can also use it as a template for your own protected pages.
Demo, with hint.html is another protected document that tells you the password. This is meant to show that the first demo is not a trick or a fake.
I am setting up a web page to collect some data via a questionnaire. The questionnaire part is working fine, but I need some help with one part. I have two different versions of the questionnaire (basically just different orders of questions) and would like the users to be redirected to one of the two versions. The idea I had was to have a redirection page that simply had a web page counter on it (like so many pages have now days) and based on this counter, people would automatically be redirected to one of the two versions of my questionnaire. Basically, if the counter was odd, the person would be routed to version 1 and if even, they would be routed to version 2. I thought this would be similar to redirecting people based on the type of browser they are using or their language settings. However, I was recently told there is not a way to do what I proposed above. So, this leaves me with two questions:
1. Was the advice that I received accurate in stating that having a simple script to redirect the user based on a web page counter is not possible?
2. If so, does anyone have some advice as to how I could go about automatically redirecting people to one of two web pages?
I have a basic web site where people can download my programs. To make it easier for them is it possible that I could add some javascript that would allow them to automatically install/run the program for them maybe with appropriate options/warnings etc.
The code above has the value "Skype" and only after hitting Enter/ Return key, the value is submitted. How can the value "Skype" be submitted automatically without pressing Enter/Return key?
