Auto-Adjusting Menu Image Based On Browser Size Possible With JS?

I have a background image that auto-resizes based on browser window / screen resolution. I want my top header menu, which requires links, to act in the same way and be in roughly the same position/size based on browser window. Is this possible? In the sample below, the image is just part of the background image to give you an idea of the look I am trying to duplicate.Is there a Javascript out there that will help me or will I be stuck having to rework my design?

I want to resize the div based on browser size, I mean when first it load I want it to fit on browser window and no scrolling bars should be appear and when I resize the browser size by dragging, it should be fix on that size.for example visit this link:I WANT THE SAME BEHAVIOR (SIZE BASED ON BROWSER) BUT USING JQUERY.

I want a page to have a different item pre-selected in an option menu-button according to the parameter at the end of the URL. Eg if the URL ends in "?choice=Beta", the item that says "Beta" should be pre-selected. Here's what I have so far:

I'm close, but the issue is that if the window is opened at a size that is SMALLER than the original image, it wont scale down to the smaller size until i first make the window bigger, THEN size it down smaller. The image itself is big (its fashion photography so it needs to be high res) and the js sets the minimum width at 1070. Id like to have the image as big as possible and then on page load automatically drop down to as low as 1070px if the window size is small. Here is the js:

An example of the resizing of an image can be seen here as well as at most photography galleries that are full-screen. You can see the size of the image change by shrinking your browser window. I want to make that gallery using javascript. I already have the ability to make a horizontal slider with left/right navigation - that part is easy. I just have never done anything with dynamic image sizes.One thing that was brought up to me already was the ability to shrink the browser window to fit.

I want to make the #myNewsDisplay to animate height based on #aContent height the problem is that, everytime the news showing up at the beginning the height is automatically set by the last long text height. How to make the #myNewsDisplay height auto adjust the height of every news height?

Using the very basic jqModal example, isn't it supposed to auto size and auto center the modal on the page? I placed a table that was wider than the modal's default settings and it's off the page and does not create scroll bars on the page to see the hidden section of the modal.

This is probably easy, but I flipped through the first 100 posts and couldn't find a similar question.
I would like to set up a form with multiple radio boxes in a table. The first row containing two selections, second containing 2..... Once the 1st row/column is selected, the 1st row/2nd column automatically displays the information from the first selection.
I am not necessarily looking for exact code on how to do this, just reference points to go to, and preferably suggestions on the best(meaning quickest) language to do this with.

I want an icon in my template that, when you click on that certain icon (image), a drop down menu appears. You know when you click the file option in your browser's toolbar, and a drop down menu appears? It can be just like that, but instead of save as and open, links will be there to places within our intranet opened in a new window. This has to work for IEX 7+ because that's all our company decides to use. I tried to submit a chang erequest for them to move to a better CSS/Javascript supportive browser such as Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome... but they're way too fixed on IEX for some odd reason.*edit* colors dont matter. It can be the default colors used in a basic drop down menu. I figure javascript would have more options though.

The issue I am having is that my menu is aligning to the right, instead of to the left where the normal menu was. I have worked with the CSS for some time now, but have not been able to figure it out. x-small, etc). Let's say something is set in CSS to be xx-large, but a
visually impaired user wants it displayed even bigger. Can a script
determine an element's absolute size, *as it is being rendered by the
browser*, and then increment the element's font-size in absolute terms?

I'm attempting to make a web page that adapts to the size of your browser size when it maximized. Because I'm only 15 I'm not such a great programmer or coder. I've done my best with the resources I have though (Fluent in Lua and a natural ability to pick languages syntax up quickly)
Here is what I have so far, it doesn't work and it is starting to puzzle me. As it seems correct as I look at it. I'm sorry if this question show my ignorance. I try my best to hide it.
Some of it is Copy pasted from sources on Google. But only for educational purposes, I learn off reading, examining and testing out snippets.
I'm basically trying to get the max size of the window and resize the div accordingly.

What I'm looking to do is have a folder of images that I have show up on my website.I'm also looking to pull from this folder up to 6 or 7 times on the same page w/ randomized pictures that do not repeat.Finally, I'm looking to be able to size and name these images based on which image randomly pulls. b/c it's not grabbing the images.

I have a bunch of dynamically generated (PHP) text area tags, and I want to put buttons next to them that automatically change their number of rows to the number of rows of text that appear in the text area.
So if there are 10 lines of text (wrapped, with an occasional line break), I want my javascript function to figure that out, and then set the appropriate value.
Here's what I came up with so far. taID is passed into the function as the ID tag value of the text area.

The problem (I think) is that when it encounters a line break, it only counts that as one character, whereas in theory I want it to count as the remainder of the line.
Can't figure out how to pull this off, though. Any ideas?

Im so close that i can taste it..The first set of code works find but only for the first input tag. I would like to create an array of all of the text inputs on my page and have each one resize to the text within them. The second set up code is where im attempting this but for some reason i can't get the code to execute.

if it's possible to re-size a div vertically based on the size of another div.I have this code but it's malfunctioning. Basically it takes the ID of the two divs and offset their height.
Example: The dynamic div will stretch or re-size vertically based on the size of the content div. So if the contents in the content div is increased, like text size, the the other div stretch to give equal height.Here is my code:

I am working on an application that emulates a mainframe terminal session. In the form, I'd like to auto-tab, but only when the cursor is in the last position, since the user may be modifying a field that is already pre-filled.
The problem is that hitting any key when the form is filled will cause the cursor to tab to the next field.
As an example, say I have 3 fields prefilled with today's date (month/day/year): 10/15/2004 ... The user positions the cursor at the beginning of the day field and would like to overtype the "15" and change it to "01". As soon as he types "0", the cursor is positioned to the next field. The desired behavior is to do this only when the cursor is in the last position (where the 5 is).
I'm not sure if this is even possible in an HTML form, so please let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree. If I need to switch from JavaScript to another scripting language (and even if this only works in IE - yuck!) I will do so, since that'll satisfy the project requirements.
