View 2 RepliesWe've developed a web application with static & iframes, each time we interact with the links in the static frame gives results in the iframe.
it has a custom back button in the static menu frame. this back button working fine in IE7 IE8 but not properly working in IE9 it goes 3 sometimes 4
pages back.
we are using history.go(-1)
is there any other way to make it work in IE9, even pressing the Backspace key wont work. we've tried many ways but no use.
I can write the most basic codes but even then it really doesn't make sense. On my website I am trying to implement a JavaScript slideshow from this website: [URL]. I do everything as it says, but the images don't even show up. Here is a link to my website where the problem is, you can view the source to see my xhtml code (please note my site isn't even close to being done.): [URL]. The slideshow should be showing up in a right next to where it says "Design is our Passion."
Here is the code for the slideshow which the site I got the script said to do:
<div id="slider">
<img src="Assets/slideshow_assets/stereosound.jpg" alt="" title="Business Card design for StereoSound." />
<img src="Assets/slideshow_assets/triflex.jpg" alt="" title="Logo design for TriFlex Labs." />
</div>
Here are both of the CSS files that the slideshow uses:
nivo-slider.css:
/*
* jQuery Nivo Slider v2.0
* [URL]
*
* Copyright 2010, Gilbert Pellegrom
* Free to use and abuse under the MIT license.
* [URL]
*
* March 2010
*/
/* The Nivo Slider styles */
.nivoSlider {
position:relative;
}
.nivoSlider img {
position:absolute;
top:0px;
left:0px;
} .....
Anyone has code to program a back button for a page that uses html5 and AJAX?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm recently programming a website with ajax and no i have found a solution for the back button problem (broken) on the internet, but it doesn't work on IE. it works on firefox, chrome, safari,...
Every time the user changes the page the url is stored in history with this code:
Code:
It adds after the url a '#' sign with the name of the page...
After that the program will store the url in a non-displayed div
And now i've set up an interval that checks the url adress bar and that div if they are not the same the page will load the url in the adress bar here is the code:
Code:
I've checked the problem with IE. IE will not read the current adress bar. It's always reading the url of the current page but not the url of the adress bar. And i've tried almost every combination with document.location, window.location, href, hash,...at least here's is my url:[url]
I need a JavaScript (or something else) that will fade out the web site, on load, and display a series of images, then display a "Continue" button to go back to the web site. I have an idea for a cute (and funny) way to get people interested in my site that has a weird name. I searched high and low (Google!, amongst others) for anything that would be close to what I need, to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to have a lightbox pop up when a user clicks the Back button in their browser rather than just navigating back. The purpose is to ask a question with a Yes/No answer, and if they click No, I allow them to go back. The only thing I've found anything like this is the onUnload event, but that doesn't prevent them from going back. How should this be handled?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a script that uses the IF statement to see wether or not a user clicked the back button to come to a page, and then if it's true to not let the page load and kick them back X number of pages (say 4) This is what I have so far:
<script language="JavaScript"><!--
if javascript:window.history.back == 1
{
javascript:window.history.back(4);
return false;
}
//--></script>
We've got application builded on custom-made mvc-framework and all navigation made on POST-requests. Usually request contains "command" and some parameters. Currently our implementation of "back" functionality is pretty bad - every link on page should write command and parameters to session params so next page can take them to form "back" link. Obviously, such method leads to many bugs. Is there some jQuery plugin to make those things easier to write and maintain?

i need to implement a clear button to clear all the fields in the
form, but i am thinking i can just use reset button.
<input type="reset" name="reset" value="CLEAR">
The first thought is that if there is default value reset and clear
will become different. My understanding is that reset means to restore the original page
before any edits by the user.
It seems like I can use reset button to implement clear javascript button.
I am required to implement such a function in an email.
The HTML format email contains a field and a button. Once user click the
button, program will gather the information(email address) in the field and
forward this email to it.
I am thinking about the implemented by JavaScript/VBScript, but don't find
the solution yet. Could anybody supply some clues?
I have a theoretical question, I can't really post my code. But I have four results from reads to a database using php. I then read from an xml file using javascript using a loop. I am basically creating a chart of four variables with several different values for each variable. Some of the values for each variables come from the database using php, and some come straight off the XML file parsing done by the javascript. I initially had the php fetch/extract inside of the javascript loop, but it only assigned the first variables values to all the other variables. I discovered (after hours of googling) the difference between client side and server side code. So, after all this typing, my question is where should I look for tutorials on using Ajax to be able to use php code inside of a javascript loop? (If at all possible)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want an identical effect that has three buttons -- print, email, text that does the same thing on the site.I can handle the server-side code (PHP), but I want to know how I can get that exact effect? My JavaScript is a bit above beginners, and I see they are using Prototype with some other effects.Now, on Firefox, I had saved the webpages but when I tried click on either of the 3 buttons, the JavaScript effect did not work. Can anyone show me how to implement something similar on my site?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a demo website (pure to show design and content - not going live) and I want users to be able to click through the site and to use a back button on the site that goes back through the pages they entered.I have these pages.
1.html
2a.html / 2b.html
3a.html / 3b.html
4.html
a user will only go to either the a or b page.so when a user is on page 4 i need a button to link the user back to the correct version of page 3 & 4.at the moment i'm trying to use the querystring to input values but having problem persisting them/
I am trying to implement a new jquery scroller for some navigation in my site and am running into some problems. I had a different version of the scroller working as well as the ajax calls to the content. Now with the new scroller there are classes created by the javascript that seem to be interfering with the ajax. You can see in the example shown : webdesign The solo link works fine (without the extra classes) This is how it was set up before. I am having to use a new scroller because I need to make the navigation dynamic and have to be able to create a single list of links that can then be cut up into sections by the JS, rather than building the list out in sections to be scrolled. If you are familiar with these scrollers then you know how they work.
This is the one I am using now: [URL] Then one I was using before is this: [URL] How can I get this to work. I tried disabling the creation of these classes but then it didn't scroll at all. I don't know JS enough to dig into the file or to figure out a solution.
Can anyone redirect to any online tutorials, articles, code of how to upload a file using HTTP PUT method and JavaScript or VBScript to a server running Apache 2.0 that uses CGI + PERL.
How to create configuration entries in httpd.conf for supporting HTTP PUT method.
How to code with AJAX to post uploaded file content to the server using PUT method ?
I am trying to capture the back button and redirect if it is a certain URL, if not just go back like a normal back button.I've never really messed with the history except for something like this: <a href="#" onClick="history.go(-1)">Anyone have an example using this plugin: [URL]r any other plugin that might achieve this
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am wondering how Back, Forward browser button works for iframes. Does it bring back/forward iframe or top window? I remember I had before a problem because I wanted to bring back iframe and not top window as it did. But today I tested my Facebook app and was surprised to see it works as I need which means it brings back/forward iframe window and not top. Is it possible that Facebook has some javascript code which does that or is this normall behaviour?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a graphic with a rollover for site navigation on each page. I
put the page to go back to in the rollover javascript.
My question is, is it possible to put in some code that will refer the
visitor back to whatever page they came from rather than one I
specify?
The rollover is combined with a tooltip script to make matters fun
(below). However, I'm quite happy to lose the tooltip to have the link
perform as a back button.
<a href="../index.asp"
onmouseover="document.images['link1'].src=img2.src;
showtip(this,event,'Back to home page');"
onmouseout="document.images['link1'].src=img1.src; hidetip()";><img
src="bhome.gif" name="link1" border=0></a>
how do i make the page go all the way to the top after you press the back button?
for example, you would go to page 1 and you scroll mid-way, then you press a link to page 2. then you press the back button on page 2 and takes you back to page 1 but it brings you back to the section where you scrolled mid-way.
is there any way to make it so it will automatically bring you to the top of the page. ive seen it on other sites.
i'm trying to find a way to reset the back button so when incrementing through my forms the users can't acidently go back to a previous page
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am doing a javascript back button within my form
<input type=submit value="Back to previous page" class=header onClick="history.go(-1)">
for some reason it is submitting the form instead of going back a page --
why would this be?
after hitting 'back' button I'm taken to spot on page where I was, but I'm being asked to do the opposite -- take user to the top of the page, after hitting 'back' button... when I look up this issue, most people complain of the opposite - that the browser takes them to to top of the page after hitting 'back' button...;-) [URL] is there a way with JavaScript to force page to go to the top of the page when you navigate to a back via 'back' button?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe site that I'm currently working on is related to a computer game, and I'm creating an interface similar to the game using js for rollovers and imagery changes.
However, one thing that web browsers have that the game doesn't is a "Back" button. I don't want to disable it--I hate when sites do that--but I want to makes sure that button changes that happen going forward also happen going backward.
That said:
1: Is there any way to force a function to run when the back button is pressed? And if not...
2: Does the body onLoad event work when the page is returned to using the back button?
Is there a way in IE to trap when the back button is pressed to do things like prompt the user to save or do some function other than going back?
