Creating A Demo Website And Need Back Buttons On The Page That Go In A Specific Order

I'm creating a demo website (pure to show design and content - not going live) and I want users to be able to click through the site and to use a back button on the site that goes back through the pages they entered.I have these pages.

2a.html / 2b.html
3a.html / 3b.html
4.html
a user will only go to either the a or b page.so when a user is on page 4 i need a button to link the user back to the correct version of page 3 & 4.at the moment i'm trying to use the querystring to input values but having problem persisting them/
Anyone know how I can change the color of a text link on a page that doesn't load a new page, but rather stays on the same page?The nav links already use an onClick to present content below it that changes depending on what link in the nav I select. In other words, there's already two things going on -- links take you to content on the same page using a JS onClick.What I want to add to that is when you click on the link, it changes style, like turns bold or changes color. So then the user knows that not only have they selected new content, but the link they selected stands out as well.
I want to create back and forward buttons on my web page. I didn't havena problem with that... the thing I am having trouble with is I would like to display "disabled" images when there if there isn't a page to go back/forward...how would I go about doing that?
Is there a way to create an alert that would pop-u when the user clicked refresh?
On refresh:
"Warning: Refreshing this page will bring you back to the beginning of the application. Are you sure you want to refresh the page?"
Yes - No
On page forward or back:
"Warning: Using the forward/back buttons may cause unexpected problems. Please use the tabs to navigate from page to page. Are you sure you want to use the forward/back button?"

I'm still a beginner to javaScript, but I'm trying to write a script for a simple image change using next and previous buttons. The following script works, except that the images do not rotate in the desired order. The script works as long as you don't switch from next to previous, which is when the wrong images are shown.
I can't get the form validation and the postioned layers/radio buttons working at the same time is either 1 of the other. I have provided the code html/css/javascript code below [URL]

I would like to add a feature to one of my sites which takes a URL and displays the webpage with certain information overlayed on top of it. I figure I can retrieve the webpage and display its HTML in an iframe (local) with an added BASE HREF tag so that the page displays correctly, while its contents are accessible through JavaScript since it's on my domain.
Here's where I was wondering if anyone could give me a pointer before I start searching for hours... how do I get a list of all links inside this iframe and their positions so I can create new elements and place them there (like a small info icon next to each link to click to show the overlayed info). Links could be text or images. I'm not really sure how I'd find the locations then place new elements at those locations.
You may find it more helpful to provide a back button for your users to allow them to go back where they originally came from. This will also make it easier to program your HTML pages.
i have three buttons on my admin page that aren't running their javascript code.They work on my old server, now i transferred to my new server and they just don't do anything. You can click on them and they look like a button but nothing happens when you click.Any idea on why this could happen coming from one server to another? Javascript is a browser thing, so i really don't see how it could be my Javascript, but more like my server isn't calling the javascript or something.

i got a video page, which has images in it, each image is a link to a different video, i want to make it so when 2 lines of images reached, there'll be a button named Next (or anything, doesn't matter) to lead to the Next page of images, note that i want only the part iwth the images to change while using those buttons, not the whole page,the images are built in this way :
1. click on the (open grid) link and select option "13", buttons A to N would appear 2. click on the select all answers button, all buttons A to N would turn green. 3. Now click on the open grid again and select option "5". As you can see all the buttons from A to 5 are now selected (Have all turned green). 4. Now go back to grid and choose option 13. As you can see all buttons A to N would be selected. I don't want this to happen. What should happen is that the 5 buttons selected before the option change should remain selected and the other 8 buttons should go back being unselected, but I do not know how to do this. On some mouses there is a back and next button which makes it easy to go to the previous or next webpage while browsering. Is there a way in JS to capture these events?

I am trying to write a script that uses the IF statement to see wether or not a user clicked the back button to come to a page, and then if it's true to not let the page load and kick them back X number of pages (say 4) This is what I have so far:
What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
I am trying to put on my homepage a dropdown list of 4 options where each option would bring you to a different page on my website.which I built in Dreamweaver.What I would like it to do is when the user clicks on an option, it brings them to one of the pages on my site.
1. the 1st popup should open automatically and open a URL 1 2. then after 30sec the popup should close 3. then 2nd pop up window should appear and open URL2 4. then after 30sec the popup should close and so on

I'm quite novice at javaScript but I have a good background in other similar languages, so I find I pick up things quick. Basically I'm planning on reading through some more solid resources on this topic, but I'm kinda under the pump at the moment for something that I imagine wouldn't be too difficult with a lil nudge in the right direction.
I have a form (using PHP) to update a mySQL database AND XML for flash, for a simple news page. At the moment I have the BBcode style of tags ([b][eb]). I was wondering how I can make a rich editor myself with just three buttons (one for italic, one for bold, one for links) that displays the text on screen to the user as WYSIWYG, and outputs the [b] [eb] tags for my PHP code.

I have a grid of buttons the user can select from by opening the grid and selecting a button. Now if the user selects a button from the grid then it displays buttons "A" to whatever letter depending on the option selected from the grid. Now lets say the user clicks on the "Select All Answers" buttons, all buttons from "A" to whichever button turns green. Now if user decides to select another option from the grid, then what happens is that all the buttons that have been selected turns back to being unselected (turns back to a white color).
I do not want this to happen. If the user clicks a button from the grid then I do not want it to remove all selected buttons underneath, I want it to stay the same as what it was. I want the same if the user changes the value in the "Number of Answers" textbox, I do not want it to turn selected buttons to being unselected.
