I am keeping all the data of the markers in this XML file, I am dynamically loading the map information using AJAX from the XML file. Now what I want to do is to have a combo box, populate all the names of the combo box and when a specific location is selected the map will pan to the selected marker. Now the place I am stuck is that I cannot get the data names in the XML file to load into the marker. Basically I have tried various methods I searched on the internet that would be the last one I checked [URL]. Another one is that I used this line:
document.getElementById("tourName").options[k] = new Option(tourLocations[k][0]);
And some other methods also.
My prob is that the huge amount of data (15MB of XML) that is loaded by an AJAX call, literally locks the browser while loading it into the DOM. Does any of you know if there is a way to prevent that. Btw - As you see I use jQuery and the ajaxManager plugin.
I am developping an interface that allows to manage bookings for a selected week. You can add, delete, view a booking. When you open a client's booking, I could fetch the id from some div, call an ajax request, and load the booking's data in some dialog (client's data, booking info (date, hour, description, ..)). I don't wish to forward the manager to another page (another request).
But another option, would be to load all the client's data of the selected week (may be up to 100) into a hidden div, and when the manager wants to view a booking, I may just fetch the data from that hidden div. It's much faster, there's no ajax. However, the problems is that there will be a lot of HTML, and I guess the page will be slower to parse; I need a (very) fast page rendering (it's already pretty loaded as it's an application). A solution would be to load asynchronously that data in the hidden div, so the page may render fast, but I don't know how to achieve this. No server request (ajax) is needed as I have the data, but don't want to put it directly into the page, it will slow it down, but to insert the data after the page rendering. Like an ajax without server request ...
I have a section at the bottom of one of my pages that gets data that can be further filtered by weeks. Users can click on any of the weeks to see the data that applies only to that week. This works just fine, but when the function finishes and replaces the html content of the div, the page jumps to the top so that the user has to scroll back down to see the results. I'd like to avoid that. [code]...
It's nothing terribly complicated. The 'weekSelection' links are disabled until a stakeholder is chosen, then they're good to go. The weird bit at the url variable is just some ASP.NET MVC stuff. The StakeholderForecasting div gets its contents replaced and all will be good as soon as I can maintain the page's position.
I'm trying to update the location of a marker in a Google Maps API. The only problem is that the marker won't update (only if i update the whole initialize() function with a setTimeout function).
It goes about the following code:
Code:
What i want is that the marker updates automatically (with AJAX) and not the whole map. First of al i thought i push the code that set's te marker in a function, and reload that every 4 seconds. But that doesn't work.
I try to reuse double combo boz with description in [URL]
I need to make it load content from external div instead of text in array as description. This is because there are so many selection and some can refer to the same description. I already changed the description so it can read html tag. But I have no idea how to put div id inside array and load the div content.
You will see that I have three combo box objects on this form - one containing dates (Date) and the other two containing times (Time1 & Time2). Each time on each date is an available appointment.
I would like the content of the date combos to be read from a file whenever the page is opened - a text file with one record per row would be fine (by way of an example - but this may be insufficient). On the face of it this would seem fairly rudimentary but I don't code in JavaScript of PHP and, having found this site I can make a start. I used to be a VB coder.
On each date the following appointment times are available: -
10:00 11:00 12:00 14:00 15:00
This assumes that no appointments on a given day are taken. This leads me to conclude that each date should have records for each time - possibly as a CSV text file as follows: -
"29th May 2009","10:00" "29th May 2009","11:00" "29th May 2009","12:00"
[code]...
The second time combo should make unavailable the time selected in the first time combo and present only those times available on the chosen date in the CSV file on the server. When I confirm appointments, at present I have to edit the page objects and update the web - which is quite messy and slow whereas uploading a simple text file, whilst an imperfect solution, is much better than what I currently have.
I believe that a PHP or Javascript routine based on events on the three objects would remove the inherent problems and would provide a useful set of building blocks for other routines of a similar nature. The routine would trigger whenever the page is loaded (or refreshed) or the content of any one of the three objects gets or loses the focus or a selection is made in an object.
The Date Combo would need to look up the available dates - keeping the currently selected date selected or, if that date is no longer available defaulting to the first date in the list. The user then makes a selection or makes no change to the selected date. The Time1 Combo then reads the available times for that date, retains the currently selected time (if available) or the first available time (if the selected is not available) and the user makes a selection or accepts the current selection. The Time2 Combo does the same as the Time1 Combo and in addition it eliminates the time selected in the Time1 Combo from the available choices.
The result is that visitors are only offered available times on available dates (insofar as this solution provides). When the form is submitted I would receive the email and confirm the appointment with the client and, in addition, I would modify and upload the modified data file to the web server using Filezilla. The benefit is that there is a slim to none chance of two people wanting to book the same times on the same date at exactly the same time (though it is possible). In addition, I can add new dates and add new times if there is a demand and I can even add previously deleted times if there is sufficient demand to warrant bringing in a second consultant to take the meetings.
i am making a program in a JSP. i have used some java script code in this program.by this program i can find out the result for between years for any class.i have three combo box for class_name, from_year, to_year. for class_name, Its value is 1 to 12. when i select class 11 or 12, an combox appear for subject having values Arts,in database for class 1 to 10 having subject values is AllSubject. and for class 11 or 12 having subject values arts, commerce and science.my problem how i make the query which send for class 1 to 10 , assume subject values is all and for class 11 or 12 subject values arts, commerce and science with others combox values.combox box for subject remain hide when i select class 1 to 10. but if i select class 11 or 12 then value for subject is Arts, Commerce and Science. how i make query from database base on the subject.
Is there a way, in Javascript, to get a list of files in a folder (on a server) that I can dynamically load into an array that I can work with when a page loads?
I have a website where i use AJAX script and display the output in the Combo Box but i have problem: Combo Box Return values like : 22 23 24 25 (All in one line)But Values should like Combo box values :
I'm using .ajax for my async requests. When I use a file nameds as "ajax.php" all works fine. But when I use a full domain like [url] I doesn't get a answer. In Firebug I only get the [url]
The Answer body is also empty. What is wrong in my code?
my issue is both a php and a javascript (AJAX) one its one or the other. I have two combo boxes one dependant on the other, populated by AJAX but when I submit the form the secondary combo is not being registered as a php $_POST['var'] in the following action page. The secondary combo is contained and altered using divs and inner.HTML. Is this an expected behaviour or is my issue else where?
What I have got is a form that a user has to fill out and submit (when validated all variables are stored in a session and emailed after multiple forms are completed), currently I have radio buttons, text boxes and a combo box/ drop down list (for location). All parts are working fine and validating fine. My problem is to do with the combo box//ddl. I have successfully validated the ddl so the user must select a location onsubmit and it is added to session and passed fine.At the moment the ddl only has cities or towns in it however as I would like to include different states and possibly different countries I need a code that validates the state first and then only gives the cities/towns that are in that state (otherwise my ddl would be to large). I can do this with links however I can't seem to do it in a form.
First I have a combo box populated from mysql db. Then onChange of the first combo box then I would like to populate my second combo box. I am trying out the jquery method as below. The first combo box id is $clientID. The problem I dont get the alert method shown that means is not working.
The code is supposed to generate this: PS: This is generated by a PHP Function that the Ajax Load Method Calls.

I've been noticing a lot of problems when loading these stuff, Sometimes I have to remake the HTML Tags because its not showing anything. Is there any option? I want it to load EXACTLY how it is, I don't know if this is some kind of protection for bad code, but if it is I would like to disable. But also, this code is really clean. no problem, I don't know.
I am developing an asp page (compliants.asp) using Javascript. I am not able to solve a problem i.e., I ve 2 dropdown lists. Based on the 1st dropdown list's data (data retrieved from database) , second dropdownlist has to be populated (retrieving data from database). Can anyone help me in sorting this issue. Im posting my code below...
I am using .ajax() to access cross-domain data using JSONP. Because I need to be able to cache the data I want to use a static name for thejsonpCallback function, so I have set the jsonpCallback option in the .ajax() request. However that appears to requires a global function whereas the auto generated function didn't (well maybe it did but that was all hidden from me).
I definitely need to be able to cache the results. Ideally I wouldn't have a global function handling the data. Is there another way to do this? If not what is the best practice way to go about using a global function these days and how do I provide it with the context of the object/module it was called from - which is where the data is needed?
I have the following code to load some pages into a div using the load function. When I click one of the links though, nothing happens. I have read a couple of books on JQuery and looking at the examples they give, this looks correct so I am at a loss.
I am still new to jQuery and I am trying to figure something out. I have this code:
[Code]...
This is working fine on itself. What is does is when I click a link it loads data into the following div. When done loading it slides out. But I want to change the appearance of the slide. I have tried to do that like this: $(this).show("slide", { direction: "down" }, 1000); But this doesn't work. When I check firebug it says the following: o.easing[this.options.easing || (o.easing.swing ? "swing" : "linear")] is not a function
I am using javascript to populate a number of text boxes based on the data item selected in the 1st combo box.
I am now working on making the selection of that combo box populate another combo box with items from another table. I can hard the sql code for the 2nd combo box so that when I select an option it populates more text boxes, but want the contents of the 2nd combo box to dynamically change depending on the selection of the 1st box. I would like this to do it without refreshing the page after each 1st combo box selection.
The 2nd box does not populate with the below code as I guess the variable isn't populated, I can put '1' in and it selects products with that prodid, but as explained above i'd like it to read the prodid from the 1st combo box.
Code: <?php require "session_logincheck.php"; function selectProductAndPopulate() {
i have a series of <select> fields. The first one, via ajax(), generates a 2nd one, based on the first ones' data with the .change() method. there is then a 3rd <select> - who's data will depend on choice of the second one although step 1 works, and i can generate the 2nd one, i still can't generate the 3rd one.
when i test the script on its own, both the 2nd and 3rd <select> fields are fine - but not via the ajax, which leads me to believe that the .change() from the 2nd one, isnt triggering the ajax call - its not being picked up (even the 'hello' alert isnt working).
how Google Analytics or Google Adsense lets you copy and paste javascript to your site and you can load data/track visitors/etc. Well, I want to do the same thing for my customers, on their domains, where they load dynamic prices on my server (long story). Is $getJSON the best solution in this day and age? I would prefer to not force them to use frames and I am not worried (nor are they, for reasons I wont' get into) about users who don't use javascript.
In short, our site processes payments for them and there is a unique feature that offers dynamic prices. So if they have javascript code with an order button image, I want them to hit my server and have their javascript code read my server, find the updated price, and display it to their user. note they will be using .html pages, not php, and they are not programmers and I want to simplify it.
I'm a total JS/jQuery newbie, and I'm having a problem using jQuery's load() to POST data to a remote PHP script and rewrite a DIV with whatever the server sent back.
Using a proxy in between, I can see that the JS script isn't sending anything, so I guess there's something wrong in the JS code I send to the browser [code]...
I am developing a website that uses JQuery to load and then display an RSS feed, and although I have things working in most web browsers, it fails in IE 8. In IE 8 when the page is first requested I get a Javascript error "Object doesn't support this property...", BUT if I click on the page reload button the error goes away and everything works just fine.
Even more strange is the fact that I have used the same code before on another website and it worked without a hitch.
The section of code that appears to be failing in IE is the actual $.get request:
At the moment I have not tried modifying the JQuery library itself as indicated in this post as I am currently using the minified version.
In IE7, if "Enable native XMLHTTP support" is checked (under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > inside the security section) then this error shows up. Unchecking/disabiling the option seems to resolve the error.
