JQuery :: Apply Events To Items That I Add To Page?
Jul 30, 2010For example, I am using ajax and a bunch of code to generate a list that is dynamically generated. This part is working perfectly, however I can't seem to remove any items from said list (since they didn't exist when document.ready fired). How would I go about having a function that could remove items from my list?(tried declaring something like hideItem(){ $(this).parent('li').hide(); } and calling it in the onclick event of the removal link, but it says the function doesn't exist.

Oct 26, 2010I'm trying to get some elements enabled when a user start typing in a input field but without success. I try this codes:

But none of them works. Just try in this page [URL] and start typing in "Buscar" (spanish) or "Search" (if you change to English) input and see that nothing happen and I don't know why. Note that I wrote alert() just for see if it works or not.

Aug 30, 2011I would like to have two columns, the left column showing all available items with an add button. The right column showing all of the added items, and then adding these together to provide an order total, but with the ability for users to add to the quantity or remove from their order.I have the add item to order bit working on, and the sub-total is working.I started to try to add on add/remove buttons to the right #your-order column but am getting stuck.Every time a user adds another item to their order, more buttons are added, and I can't get the "remove item" button working.The page is located here:URL...Should I paste the jQuery code I am using here?

Feb 3, 2009I am dynamically creating page elements by looping through an array and adding them to the DOM. Each element has an action that should be performed when it is clicked. This action (or a reference to it) determined by the current array value as well. Because the code called in the onclick handler is not executed until the event fires, the value of the current array item (at the time the onclick handler is attached) is not preserved resulting in the expected behavior not happening.Here is an extremely simplified example of the problem I'm facing:

Jquery :: Building Dynamic List Of Items - Adding Index Number?
Feb 17, 2009I want to build a dynamic list of items with jquery but am unsure how to add an index number to each of the items i create so that i can reference them to edit or delete them for example. So far, I have the following which just creates the items and appends or prepends them to the element depending on whether one item exists already. I just need a way of adding an attribute so I can then reference the current item when clicked and remove it. What would be the simplest method to use?

JQuery :: Adding Animation Effects (FadeIn / FadeOut Events)
Jan 10, 2011I'm fairly new to jQuery (1.4.4) but finding it to be an incredible library of tools. I recently scrapped my old image swapping JavaScripts for some new stuff I wrote for jQuery. It's all working in jQuery the way it was working before without jQuery. So far so good. Now I'm fiddling around with adding some jQuery animation effects and find the experience disappointing.
So I have images with an indexed id, like this...

With the following jQuery, I simply swap out the image ("m-0") on mouseover to an image called "over_0.jpg" by changing the url in "src" for image element id "m-0". The real code is doing image pre-loading, binding multiple elements, filling an array with all the URL's for the hover images, etc.

So the code above is working for me... swapping images.
The issue or question now is how can I apply a simple fadein or fadeout on the in/out events? I've been experimenting today and no matter what I do, I get the image swap and then an animation... or vice versa. It looks ugly since the background shows through... I just want to fade from one image to the next instead of a quick snap from one to the other. Most of the plugins I've found seem to be overkill for this. Or they require two separate image elements... I just want to do it each image with my single img element.
4 Li Items As Above And Want The Value From Each Hidden Input Field?

There are 4 li items as above and I want the value from each hidden input field. At the moment I am getting 4 identical values, 1, 1 ,1 and 1.Does anyone know how to get them and what I am doing wrong. I really need them in an array. It's probably simple but I've just been looking at it for too long

I need to catch another event: when the user has chosen the file in the
dialog and pressed "Open".
I can't us onpropertychange because what I want to do is to check the
name of the chosen file and eventually modify the text area. This would
make a recursive onpropertychange event call... so I need something
else.
Fill Text Input With Items From Array?
Apr 17, 2009I have a script to display 2 dropdown lists. Selecting the first list will populate the second with items. But what I want then is, items in the second are already in a array (this works) they also have a code and this code I want to display in a text input, when selecting an specific item in the second list. (I can display the item selected in the second list (but want the code behind that item to be displayed in the text field). Function assignprojectnum shows the item in the text field now.

Form Input Value Reset To Original On Events?
Nov 6, 2010I am trying to achieve something that I have seen on many forms throughout the web; I am currently learning JavaScript so please bare with my beginner status. So I have a form and on every input button, I want the value to disappear when clicking on it; and if no text is entered, the original value is returned..
So far I have this inside every input button and i'm beginning to struggle with 'the next step': onfocus="if(this.value=='Email')this.value=''"
Is there a simpler way to achieve this with multiple buttons rather than copying this into every button?

an id, and it makes an input field inside the td. That part workds.
What doesn't work is that I want to add an "onkeyup" on the input
