Show Random Elements From A List?
Oct 4, 2010I have a dynamically generated list of which contain div's with a class of product. I want to only display 6 random products out of the whole list on page load and hide the rest.

Show 1 Random Div From A List?
Sep 30, 2009Now I know this is a fairly easy task, but I need to show the random div from a selection of 10 which all have the same class. I am not able to do this using unique IDs as the divs will be created by the end user as a repeating region from Adobe contribute.So I'll have a list looking something like the following but I only want one to show.

Show/hide Several Elements Based On List Selection?
Jan 26, 2009I got a table.Each row has a list of statuses.If status == yes, then several elements will be shown in the rowif status != yes, then hide those elements.Im not sure if I have made a good solution, but it seem to work ok (opera9.6, ff2, ie7)The status selector passes on a unique rowid, and itself. This way the js function can get the row, and the status of the selection. Then toggle various elements in that row.Only annoying thing is the way row elements are named and found. It kinda have to rely on some hard coding, but its ok I guess.Im not sure if its possibel to just call toggle( this ), and that way get to the elements in the row.

JQuery :: Show / Hide Elements Or Remove / Add Elements Based On Radio Selection By User?
Mar 14, 2010I have a page I am working and I am having some trouble with: I need to show and hide areas based on a radio selection. I initally started using the show / hide feature in Jquery but the problem is the elements need to be removed but then put back if the user selects the radio buttonagain as it has form elements that have validaion on them. The validation is still trying to validate the form elements becuase they are still on the page but just not showing. This is the radio group the user makes the selection from:

JQuery :: Random Order Of Elements?
Aug 1, 2010So, I have a document like this (leaving the formal body and head tags out):

<li>Listitem #5</li>
</ul>
Now my plan was to make the order of the <li> elements random, so that at certain times it appears like this
<ul>
<li>Listitem #4</li>
<li>Listitem #2</li>
<li>Listitem #5</li>
<li>Listitem #1</li>

But trying to load the HTML it didn't work. Would you be able to explain me why and how this problem could be fixed? I have tried several alternatives, checked the error console all the time, but they all failed as well.
Random RemoveChild() - Remove All Except One Of The Above LI Elements?

Exactly how would one go about removing all except one of the above LI elements? Also each page refresh the left over LI element must be a randomly left over element. The last part is the one I am getting stuck on... how to make sure the left over LI element is random each time.

Random <div's> - Script May Show A Previous <div>?
Mar 14, 2010I'm currently using this script with success to rotate out 25x250 Banner Ads on my site..After 15 Secs the images switch to another <div>....Ok, So Far So Good, the trouble is that before each ad has a chance to be seen, The script may show a previous <div> AGAIN... I would really like to keep the random aspect, that way each Advertiser has a chance at being seen first on each page load or 2nd, maybe 3rd, etc.....But I need it to at least get each of them show before it repeats one......here is the script......

grouping them by the DD's. I suppose if I can just get them into groups I
can get the href's later. The hard part is getting them grouped as explained
below. For example...

Is there a way to say, loop through the DL until it finds a DT. Whe it finds
one, grab it and all of the DD's that immediately follow it .. until it
comes to another DT. Group it with its DD's and continue until no more DT's
are found.
Then maybe take these collections and possibly populate an array with the
groups?

If I click on "A" in the #type list, the content list is sorted, the li's with the classes "B" and "D" are hidden by attaching a class of .hidden to display:none. In turn becoming:
My question is, how do I apply the new content results to the #location menu? If "B" and "D" are hidden then numbers "3" and "4" shouldn't be displayed. I'm having trouble getting the two to talk to each other. I've tried .is(':visible"), .each(), etc. and can't quite crack it.

So far, no luck with jquery .each loop trying to assign unique value and add incrementing value to each of them. In my code, they all seem to have the same id and when I click again it just appends the same value again to all of them.
