Image Slider - Reference Correct But Broken Links Shown
Feb 1, 2011
I'm having an issue with a javascript image slider that I downloaded and have implemented. You can see the page I am working on here...[URL]. And the script is at [URL]. It works fine on my Mac browsers, and then fine on Windows Firefox, but it's when I try it on IE it breaks. Or rather doesn't even show up. The other issue I've occasionally noticed is that an image won't load and shows as a broken image link, even though the image is there and is referenced correctly. This is an issue across the board, and only happens randomly.
I found, after some googling, a js that shows broken image links in FF. I wonder if its possible to alter it so that the script displays the broken link image in the same size as the original image is in. Now it makes it in to 80x80px [code]...
I am using a js calendar script that populates a text field with a date. When clicking in the field the calendar shows then i choose a date, calendar closes, the date is now in the field. great it works fine.
I want to make this call from a button. when adding the code to a href, the popup shows but nothing happens when selecting a date. I have tried the following scripts will failure.
*html a href and img tag left out* onclick="if(self.gfPop)gfPop.fPopCalendar(document.this_form.elements['example[]']);return false;"
When I load an HTML file dynamically which contain relative links with jQuery, all the links are broken. which does not involve changing all the links to absolute values?
I am new to using jquery and had a question about the slider that I use on my portfolio [URL]. The slider works perfectly but the one issue I have is that whilst it is loading you can see all the images that are used in it tiled vertically, overlapping the text and the rest of the site. It basically looks very ugly whilst loading so I was wondering if there is a way to hide the images whilst it loads, or if there is another alternative?
[URL]..Default.aspx I have both a carousel with images andalso animagemap(notnot published yet)with coords that when clicked i want to write to a cookie file which image or image map coordinate was clicked, so when they are hyperlinked to the next page the correct div opens based on first reading the cookie written to on the previous page. Anybody have a basic script for reading and writing to a cookie using jquery in this fashion?
I have four links which show a div and when you select another link it closes the current div and shows the new one. I'm trying to add a 'Close' button within the currently open div which obviously will hide the div and allow it to be opened again by selecting a link.
Code:
HTML Code:
My problem is that when the box has been hidden by the close link it will not be shown by the links.
I'm new to jQuery and Javascript overall, I have searched the internet to make use of jQuery instead of the HTML's iframe tag. My problem is links inside a .load file, I want them to refresh the box on the index.php file, not the file itself (in this case the links are in blog.php)
Here's everything I can provide with: Files: "index.php" "blog.php"
In my index.php file I have this script to make my index.php links open the required file in my div box. "index.php" <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#html").load("blog.php"); // shows the blog.php when I first enter index.php, which I want to have $(".link_click").click(function(){ $("#html").load($(this).attr("id")); }); }); </script>
Here's my div box in "index.php" where I show the information within the loaded file: <div id="html"></div>
All this works, but here's my problem, I have multiple links within "blog.php" which I want to make "index.php" to refresh the "index.php"'s html div. Is there some kind of way to edit the "blog.php"'s script to make it "index.php" the parent or reference? "blog.php" <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".link_click").click(function(){ $("#html").load($(this).attr("id")); // Need to change this(?) to make it reference the index.php's html div box }); }); </script>
Here's what I usually use and have been using for years and it works great, just not for this particular purpose. I don't have a clue when it comes to javascript.
<noscript><img src="no_script_quote.gif" width="406" height="94"/></noscript><script language="javascript"> var delay=6000 var curindex=0
[code]....
But, now I want to be able to set a default picture to be shown first and have the random pics appear next. I also don't want the default pic to show up again in the random array. So basically, every time the page was first visited, or refreshed it would show the default picture then move into the random pics.
I am building a simple t-shirt creator app for my shop and I am using the interface.js library: [URL].. docs/drag to drag/drop and re-size the graphic on the shirt background image.
Once the user has chosen a spot to put the graphic, how do I save the background image of the t-shirt with the image they dropped in the correct spot? Like, to merge the two graphics in place?
This code works in Chrome, but not in IE <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> </head> <body> <img src="mchief1.jpg" /> <script type="text/javascript"> var tehImg = $('img[src="mchief1.jpg"]'); tehImg.attr('src', "mchief2.jpg"); </script> </body> </html> In Chrome, the second image is shown, while in IE the first one is.
I have a content slider called "Codaslider" (ver 1.1 I believe) setup, and using CSS I have an absolute positioned image hovering above the slider at all times. The effect is what I want, where I have a static image of my company's product hovering above the content slider, and the background images slide around showing various features and such.
I would like to make it where the customer can click anywhere within the bounds of the content slider (including on top of the static image), and be able to follow the link for the image in the content slider.
For example, if the background image shows "New Features" or something similar, I want the customer to be able to click anywhere and get to the "New Features" page.
So basically, is there a way to dynamically set the URL that the static overlaid image points to, based on what page the content slider is on?
Here is the javascript that setups up the content slider:
Code javascript: <script type="text/javascript"> var theInt = null; var $crosslink, $navthumb;
I'm working with an existing slideshow that's not built with jQuery. I basically need to load an image after the DIV containing the slideshow image is shown. TheDIV will also have an attribute that contains the URL for the image to be loaded. Here is the code.<div style="display: none" rel="http://pathtoimage"></div> What I was is for some jQuery that monitored when the DIV was shown (remove the display: none) and then take the image in the attribute and inject it into the DOM.
I would like to hide several <div> tags when the page loads, but put it on a timer so after the page is finished loading the fade in. In the meantime whilst the page is loading, a image is shown. It's for a radio player i'm working on, the page takes around 5seconds to load fully, and so thought a loading image would be better to look at than half loaded <div> tags.
This is what I am seeking: On the main page we have 3 different images (img1, img2, img3), that must link to another page (photo page) with a photo in the middle enlarged: for example if I click img1 i will go to the photo page with img1 enlarged in the middle, and if I click img2 will go to the photo page with img2 in the middle. the photo page has photo thumbnail sliding at the bottom of the page that links to the same middle enlarged photo based on the clicked photo. is it doable with JS? or should I look somewhere else?
The script below magnifies a small portion of a larger image in a separate box. Is there any way I can add to the code to alter the area and level of magnification shown from the original image onto the new box?
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function DoMagnify(sender, e) { var posx = 0; var posy = 0; if (!e) var e = window.event; [Code]...
I wrote a simple code in javascript and it is working fine with IE and Firefox but the out put in php array count is correct in IE but not correct in Firefox
<script language="javascript"> var arrdimensions = { "codimesion":{"s":{'0':'dimesion1','1':'dimesion2','2':'dimesion3','3':'dimesion4','4':'dimesion5','5':'dimesion6','6':'dimesion7'},"c":1,"m":"50", "sc":1, "f":"nopcs[]"} }; function adddimensions(what) { [Code]...
I've been looking for a reference to my situation for two days and i can't find any that are relevant enough.I'm trying to accept text as a URL for an image source.I then display that image in a form with the use of a <button type=button onclick=codeThatGeneratesImage > type thing.i know that the bottom half works because i tried it with just a reference to an image directly and it worked.i can't figure out why most of the top part isnt working.

I'm trying to accept text as a URL for an image source. I then display that image in a form with the use of a <button type=button onclick=codeThatGeneratesImage > type thing.
function addImageToForm(formID) { //get a reference to the form var formElement = document.getElementById(formID); //get a reference to the element that contains the url

[URL] In this link example, you will see the Facebook/Twitter share buttons on the upper, left-side. When you attempt to share this page to your Facebook friends, by default, it shows a random image on the page, when IT SHOULD be showing the post avatar of the bicycle wheel. How can we modify the script to capture this bicycle wheel avatar by default?
I am looking for a version of lightbox that would allow the user to click on a single reference image and when the "lightboxed" version appears a strip of thumbnails would be available at the top or bottom of that image. Thus, the user could navigate between images within the lightbox by clicking on a different thumbnail. If such beast exists a URL would appreciated. Extensive Googling hasn't turned up what I'm looking for at all.
I'm using a javascript image slider right now, but the first image is the only one, and I want the slider to move to a new <div> instead of a new image. Here is the code I am using:
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I am trying to use a program called WOW Slider, found at [URL] It's supposed to create a slider pretty easily.
I can get the slider to work great on my local machine, but when I uploaded it to my host server, it does not work.
Obviously I do not have things in the correct directories?
I have a test page of my output that's live, that you can see.
I'm asking a lot, but this slider was the icing on the cake for a site redesign that I've been working on for months. I'm sad that I have hit a glitch this close to launching. Grrr.
