I am working on the following page: [URL]. There is a news script on the right-handside which rotates news items (a kind of scroller). Locally this works without any problems, but once I've uploaded it to the hosting server this doesn't work. There is no javascript error sign. I have double checked with the hosting and they support javascript by default.
I have created a site with menu, it is working fine locally but when i upload it on the server it dosen't work. When I click on submenu under "Company" or "Products",It will show the actual url in the address bar but it gives a error "405 - resource not allowed". Kindly check and let me know the solution for this. If you know any other simple script similar to this let me know.
I've been working on a college project to rebuild a php/mysql web application. My local dev. environment runs php/mysql on IIS, and the server that hosts the web-app runs php/mysql on Apache. As part of the revamp I've coded a few bits of javascript that works perfectly in my dev machine, but when upload do not work properly. Here is the latest bit:
Form with hidden fields I want to post to the next page. <form action="ADToDoPrintPage.php" target="_blank" method="post" id="fm"> <input type="hidden" name="TotalHours" id="TtlHour" value="<?php echo "$total_hours" ?>"><input type="hidden" name="TotalCycles" id="TtlCycle" value=" <?php echo "$total_cycles"; ?>">
Then a list of links, one of which posts the form to the desired page: <li><a href="" onclick="document.getElementById('fm'). submit();return false;"> Printer Friendly View</a></li>
Problem is rather than going to the desired page, it simply directs to the homepage. I'm baffled as to why this is happening and dont know where to start looking. Could it be something do to with javascipt not being enable or permitted on the webserver? I've made sure the site is in the 'trusted sites' list in IE but with no joy.
I have created a site and on one page it uses 2 divs side by side to display text information. in the left hand div it contains 8 links. these links when clicked load up text stored in separate text files and display it in the right hand div.The code below was working when i ran it from my mac but when i try to load it off the webhost it fails to execute.
Is there any way to get Google to host jQuery 1.4.1? For a while, I have been using their copy of 1.4.0 at[URL]. I tried [URL] and it doesn't work. I get a 404 error. I tried running the command google.load("jquery", "1"); in their API loader to get the latest version, but I am getting 1.4.0. Do I just need to wait for them to get 1.4.1?
I must make clear that I am not a javascript programmer; I am simply trying to get this script to work on my website. It functions perfectly locally (with all browsers), but after uploading to my website, it shows the controls at the top, but not the content.
Below is the code for the FreeMind Flash Browser which can be found here: [URL]
It requires 2 additional files, flashobject.js and visorFreemind.swf plus the FreeMind file (*.mm) that stores the content. The FreeMind file that has the content displays perfectly on localhost, but not on the website. I have all of these files in the same directory and have double checked everything, but it still doesn't function on my website. I have other flash files and scripts on the same website in other pages that function perfectly.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head>
anyone know of a good method or run JavaScript programs locally without the web server piece? For example. I use jQuery, and develop in FF initially. Sometimes I will get a JS in error, something like Invalid Argument line 12 in jQueryThat tells me nothing. Which script is causing the error? Who knows. It's a pain as I'm sure many are aware. Aside from removing one script at a time, and clearing your cache all the time, is there a better method to pinpoint errors?
This one has plagued me for some time now. I am parsing an XML file for a search feature. On my local machine, the code below works fine in FF, but when I upload it, I get an error stating y[0] (the root element) is undefined. I think the problem may be with my onload method but I can't be sure.
function importXML()
I just can't figure out why this works locally and not on the server. IE works fine, but then again it uses the activeXObject method so it should function differently.
I would like to create a script that behaves differently according to the date it was uploaded to the webserver. Meaning - if I send the script to my friends and each one uploads it to his server on a different date - each one will get a different behavior.
Something like:uploaddate=getuploaddate(); if uploaddate between Jan 1...Jan15, 2010 do this1; elseif uploaddate between Jan 16...Jan31, 2010
I got a a JS code sometime ago to create dropdown menus. The instructions said that I should insert into the head section. The script works very well.Off late, I've been reading up on Javascript on w3schools and realised that I could move the script to an outside file and share it gloabally because I have galleries on seven pages that uses the same code. This works perfectly well, locally, on my desktop. But when I uploaded it to my hosting site(go daddy), the javascript doesn't work. This code worked perfectly well earlier when it was inside the HTML.Some of the classes I've used for the dropdowns are defined in a external styling sheet. I know for a fact that this styling sheet is accessible because the gallery styling is applied. It is only the dropdowns that don't work. I've checked on google and other forums and while the problem of JS not working on the hosting exists, it doesn't match the problem I'm facing. I am also able to access the JS file using the navbar and double checked the path. Can someone please help? I'm posting the JS code, the CSS styling and the HTML code below:
it was working fine when i viewed it using my local host but when i uploaded it to the server it doesn't want to work anymore. i made sure all the files are in the proper folder and so on..still no progress. Then uploaded the original or "demo folder" i got from this site and it works, but my site doesnt. I combined 2 jquerys btw, one apycom jquery and one booklet jquery. Both works in local host but in my site, only the apycom works. pls help me out..[URL]...
I just realized that it seems like Internet Explorer doesn't get Javascript to work locally but only on a live site how can I get Internet Explorer to work locally? as well as live? For testing purposes. Everything runs right in Mozilla Firefox.
I download the jquery library, when i include it as such:
It loads but i always get some sort of error in the functions in the page or something...as if the js is loaded but not correctly or as if it's missing, even though the download itself is correct
If i change the include path to (which is the exact same file i downloaded):
Everything works fine i am thinking maybe it could be something that has to do with encoding maybe? am not sure...any clue? it's only happening with the jquery JS files, the rest are working fine.
I ran in to a strange problem with a client who uses Yahoo hosting. The web site uses AJAX (jquery, php, javascript). There is no problem viewing the site using IE8, Firefox on a Windows 7 computer. On an XP computer the site worked fine in IE, but not in Firefox. The site never worked properly using Chrome or Safari.
I tried jquery 1.3.2 and 1.4.2 but got the same results.
I use this same combination (jquery, php, javascript) on other web hosts and don't have these problems.
I know that Yahoo hosting injects tracking code in the web pages it serves for the sites it hosts (at least for my client). I think this could be the source of the problem.
When I removed jquery (I was only using the load function anyway) and used my own code- the problem disappeared. The site now works in all browsers.
I have JavaScript code, that exports a HTML table to MS Excel.
This works fine on my development (local) server, however, it fails to work on my 'live' IIS server. Once I click on the Export link, I confirm the "Export to Microsoft Excel?" message, then nothing happens. I am not sure if MS Excel needs to be installed on the server or not?code...

I have designed a site. It's working properly in locally. Now I want to insert a special javascript on my home page. The job of that special javascript is, makes some errors in the site when site is going to publish on internet.
I have installed an image rotator script on my page however the animation is not working i.e. the rotation between images is not taking place. The script works on my localhost though. code...
When i am executing javascript in browser it is working properly..I have to execute it with some JSP code .. so iam executing it in apache server and javascript is not working .. what to do for resolving this.
I have created a global navigation includes document. Unfortunately the drop down menus that are part of the navigation aren't working. They worked fine when they were part of the page, but now that they are separated from the page as includes the drop down menus don't appear in my test site (posted to a web server). All other content in the includes file appears and works.
I've got a global navigation document with drop down menus created using javascript saved as includes. These are posted to a web server and the pages that reference the includes display the graphics and some of the links, but not the drop down menus. They don't appear on roll-over.
