Image Resizing Not Working / Solution For This?

Sep 12, 2009

Code...

So the idea of the code is to load an image from a record, and echo both scenarios of 1) the image being a valid size and fitting in the table, or 2) the image width is too large, so add on width='100%' to the image. After both rows have been loaded, call the javascript function in PHP to hide the appropriate table row.

Button Not Working Inside XMLrequest Div / Solution For This?

Aug 6, 2010

I have a page that comes up through XMLHttpRequest and inside that page there is a button.

This button doesnt work the same as the buttons outside of the buttons on the main page. Sorry I don't fully understand AJAX and how it works, I know XMLHttpRequest is a bit like an iframe (in the sense that it brings data from another page).

Basically I have a shopping basket, and this basket sits at the top, I load up the database with XMLHttpRequest which brings up results, each result has a button next to it which calls the basket and adds themselves to it but they don't.

If i get the exact same button but use it outside of the XMLHttpRequest div it works.

Web App Not Working Properly When Uploaded To Server

Mar 10, 2009

I've been working on a college project to rebuild a php/mysql web application. My local dev. environment runs php/mysql on IIS, and the server that hosts the web-app runs php/mysql on Apache. As part of the revamp I've coded a few bits of javascript that works perfectly in my dev machine, but when upload do not work properly. Here is the latest bit:

Form with hidden fields I want to post to the next page.
<form action="ADToDoPrintPage.php" target="_blank" method="post" id="fm">
<input type="hidden" name="TotalHours" id="TtlHour" value="<?php echo
"$total_hours" ?>"><input type="hidden"
name="TotalCycles" id="TtlCycle" value="
<?php echo "$total_cycles"; ?>">

Then a list of links, one of which posts the form to the desired page:
<li><a href="" onclick="document.getElementById('fm').
submit();return false;">
Printer Friendly View</a></li>

Problem is rather than going to the desired page, it simply directs to the homepage. I'm baffled as to why this is happening and dont know where to start looking. Could it be something do to with javascipt not being enable or permitted on the webserver? I've made sure the site is in the 'trusted sites' list in IE but with no joy.

Working Locally But Not When Uploaded To Hosting Server?

There is a news script on the right-handside which rotates news items (a kind of scroller).

Locally this works without any problems, but once I've uploaded it to the hosting server this doesn't work. There is no javascript error sign.

I have double checked with the hosting and they support javascript by default.

Server Side Includes / Drop Down Menus Not Working

Rollover And Rotator

Nov 4, 2005

I would like to be able to load new sets of images everytime I hit refresh and use rollover. Code: uses this idea. Everytime you log into their website, you get a new image. if you roll the mouse over the menu on the left of the picture, you get different rollover text on the picture.

What I have so far is image rotator, which will randomly load differnt photo everytime you access the website. However, I don't how to do the complete thing.

Banner Rotator

Feb 1, 2006

I have a space on my page reserved for a banner to denote religious / special events and other notices that may be important for that specific day. At the moment the relevant banner is uploaded the night before ready for the next day.

A bit of research has led me to develop an automated Javascript script that loads up the relevant days banner using the getDate() and getDay() functions. This, however, means I have to name the banner for January 1st as 1.jpg in a folder named &#391;'.

What I am wondering is whether it's possible to draw up a spreadsheet (or text file) so that I can type in a more memorable filename (e.g. 'christmasDay.jpg') and it locates it in the folder and displays it on that relevant day. Is it possible for Javascript to do this sort of thing?

Another thing I've thought of (as an advanced bit, don't want to run before walking!) is perhaps to have a random banner from a selection shown if there isn't a religious date / special event on a specific day.

JQuery :: Photo Rotator - How To Add More Than One

Nov 1, 2010

I used the code here for my photo rotator: [URL]. It works when there's one rotator on the page, but I need to add a few and that does not work.
function theRotator() {
//Set the opacity of all images to 0
$('.photos img').css({opacity: 0.0});
//Get the first image and display it (gets set to full opacity)
$('.photos img:first').css({opacity: 1.0});
//Call the rotator function to run the slideshow, 4000 = change to next image after 4 seconds
setInterval('rotate()',4000);
} function rotate() {
//Get the first image
var current = ($('.photos img.show')? $('.photos img.show') : $('.photos img:first'));
var currentButton = ($('.photos a.active')? $('.photos a.active') : $('.photos a:first'));
//Get next image, when it reaches the end, rotate it back to the first image
var next = ((current.next().length) ? ((current.next().hasClass('show')) ? $('.photos img:first') :current.next()) : $('.photos img:first'));
var nextButton = ((currentButton.next().length) ? ((currentButton.next().hasClass('active')) ? $('.photos a:first') :currentButton.next()) : $('.photos a:first'));
//Set the fade in effect for the next image, the show class has higher z-index
next.css({opacity: 0.0})
.addClass('show')
.animate({opacity: 1.0}, 1000);
nextButton.addClass('active');
//Hide the current image
current.animate({opacity: 0.0}, 1000)
.removeClass('show');
currentButton.removeClass('active');
};
$(document).ready(function() {
//Load the slideshow
theRotator();});

XMLHttpRequest: Script Works To Request XML File On Server But Not On External Server

Oct 2, 2010

I have the following JavaScript (see below). The script requests an XML file from the server and displays it on the page.

The script works fine when the requested XML file is stored on the same server as the script.

The problem is when I try requesting an XML file from an external server such as the National Weather Service. I get an error. If I take the XML file from the National Weather Service and save it to my server it works. Why can't I use my script to request XML files stored on external servers?

Javascript Code

document.getElementById("makeTextRequest").onclick = getNewFile;
