When I Resize The Page, Drag Its Border Lines And So On, Everything Gets Messed Up?
May 3, 2011
I have with the regions on the page. I would like to know how could I resize them... I know there is no HTML or CSS modality, therefore the only solution has to come from Javascript. Image I have four flags on a page and each of those are links to other pages. However, when I resize the page, drag its border lines and so on, everything gets messed up.how to solve this? Or at least other options, like Tables, Divs, anything that can resize and accept links?

What I want to do is change the border of several images on the page to show a 4px border. There are many images on the page so I just want to call the changeborder() function on the onClick event so as the image that has been clicked changes. However, I don't think using this.style.border to identify the element works when placed within the function. That is, how do I identify, from the function, which image has been clicked? My current code (which does not work) looks like this but I am sure its possible to gather what i'm trying to achieve:
<script type="text/javascript">
function changeborder()
{
this.style.border='4px solid red'
}
</script>
<img style="border: 1px solid #F4F4F4;" onclick="changeborder()" src="images/colours/010.jpg" border="0">

I am trying to make a javascript utility where the user can resize and drag an image. A slider contols the size of image from 0% to 200%. And also the image is draggable and the x and y coordinates of the image are immediately reflected on a text box in the page.
I think that this is possible with jquery or other javascript libraries. But was looking for some direction where I can find the best tutorial or examples.

when I click on a div element an anonymous function gets fired that appends eight handles around the box. Each handle has its over unique anonymous function as well that resizes the div box upon a mouse down and mouse move. Ok all is working fine except when I drag a handle around to resize, other elements on the page become highlighted and the whole resize procedure gets broken or rather stuck. How do I make is so when I drag this handle other elements are excluded from being highlighted by my mouse down and mouse move actions?

Bit of a lengthy topic name, I know - I'm trying to make a sort of really lightweight online t-shirt designer - basically, it'll show a picture of a t-shirt in the background (you'll be able to change the color via selector), and then be able to upload an image, drag it around the t-shirt and resize it. I've found this: [URL]. But I have no clue (after looking at the JS, I'm still pretty new) how to set bounds to keep it in, or how to save/output the image it creates - that is, the uploaded image on top of the t-shirt needs to be saved as a single image and then output, probably via email. I am fairly fluent in PHP, but still pretty new to javascript. What is A, the best way to upload the user image (and give a max file-size) and B, the best way to drag/resize it around the t-shirt, but without moving it off the t-shirt image, and C, save that image then output it?

I have been using Javascript to write a web application for my company to use as a manufacturing control system. It is all working very well, but I have come across a basic problem that many of you may know the answer to.
I start my web page by referencing jquery and a couple of plugins. Then I add my own Javascript functions. Following that I add all the PHP code and functions, followed by the HTML. The problem I have noticed is that if I add another Java script function, something stops working. take the function out, delete not comment out. and all is well again. After pulling my hair out for a while, I realised that there seems to be a limit to the amount on lines of Javascript I can put into the page. The solution is simple, just gather all my Javascript code and put it in another file with a .js extension and add it as a reference in the top of the file after jquery. I can then add as many line of code as I like without a problem.
how the lines of Javascript are limited?

I have a floating div which I drag all over the page. If the page has
scrollbars and users drag the floating div to the very top, page
scrolls up too. The problem occurs at this moment. As page scrolls up,
the div gets detached from the mouse while dragging.
How can I keep the floating div to always stay attached to the mouse
during a dragging process and scrolling the page? Code:

I am trying to make a floating "drag-able" navigation box that will seem not to reload between pages. I hope this make sense
The navigation is in a floating box that can be dragged as well as collapsed. And when you go from page to page the box will remain in the same location and in the same state (open or collapsed) ultimately creating the illusion that the nav box doesn't reload. Can this be done with JS? If so is the way to maintain the location with cookies or is there another way?

I'm using Walter Zorn's Drag & Drop script on my page: [URL]. The script works just fine. But there is a problem when the visitors are trying to print out their design. All "draggble" elements are getting shifted in relation to the rest of the page (try to move "draggble" elements, and then go to Print Preview to see what happens). The page layout is centered on the screen:
#maincontainer{margin: 0 auto; /*Center container on page*/}
Drag & Drop script recalculates positions of elements from the Top Left corner. If I change margin to left, than everything prints out just fine, without shifting. I'd like to keep my page layout centered on the screen and I know nothing about Java programming. How to make necessary changes to the Drag & Drop script to achieve proper page printing?
Drag & Drop script path: [URL]
CCS path: [URL]

I'm trying to develop a function to resize a control upon window resize. In regular javascript I would make a global array of control names and append code to the event that cycles through and resizes each control.For example
var proportionalizedImages=new Array();
proportionalizedImages.push(document.getElementById(ctrl));
if (window.addEventListener)[code]....
I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way to do this in jQuery. I've played around with it a bit, but i'm unsure how to get the control object to the resize function triggered by window resize without a global variable.
jQuery.fn.resize = function(max_size) {
$(window).bind('resize', $(this), resizeTriggered);
}[code]....

I have a page that needs to have accessibility features for people with poor vision, namely, I need them to be able to resize the text across the page.
[URL]
I know you can do this through the browser, but my company wants me to have it in the page.
Also, I've used most of the code from our head office, but I can't figure out why it won't work on my page.
ps. Also most of the other javascripts on the page are not working (like the contrast, but I'll tackle one thing at the time).

I've googled away but not come up with anything as yet so would like to ask if anyone knows a plug in that can do this simple task.

I was wondering if there is a way to use Jquery to reduce the amount of images I use on my company website as well as resize them depending on the page they're displayed on. It's just that I feel that's it's very tedious creating 5 or 6 formats for each campaign each with it's own dimensions depending on the page and unfortunately my company doesn't want to implement a Backoffice fed site, which means I have to do it all manually.

Page with iframe: [URL]. I have an iframed page which displays the contents of a form. I would like to be able to vary the height of this page depending the form contents (# of rental units returned) returned. Is there a way to resize this page (the 'child' iframe) dynamically according to the size of the form content? I don't have much control over the form data, which lives on a separate domain. Also, is there a way to resize the home page [URL] back to it's original size when a user clicks the 'back' button in a browser after the form contents are displayed?

Ive written some code to try and resize a page dependant on the content oof an iframe. Code is as follows:
window.onload=sizeAdj();
function sizeAdj() {
var elFrame = document.getElementById('theFrame');
var elTable = document.getElementById('tableGrab');
var elDivMain = document.getElementById('main');
var elDivWrapper = document.getElementById('wrapper');
[Code]....
I originally thought that I would just be able to resize the iframe and the other elements would follow suit but as you can see Ive tried to resize the other encasing elements also. The code resizes partially in chrome but only to a certain point and not to the full height of the doc content.

Here is the code:
It works well, but I was wondering why I am not able to get the padding-top and -bottom using these two instructions:
The script runs but Firebug shows empty strings for both values. How come? Is there a bug in Firefox?

I've ran into a little problem when using resize() function in jQuery as I am trying to call a function after the document loads and later on should window resize occur, but I can't really figure out use jQuery syntax to do the both at the same time within a function.
Here's a example:
$(document).ready(function() {
doScript();
$(window).resize(function doScript() {
// do stuff
});
});
So it is possible to give an instance name to this (resize) function and call it just once after the page loads?

I've got a page [URL]... where I have to use a jquery function to stretch the body to the user's window height if it isn't already.
In the same code I also use a condition that if the body is bigger than the user's window, the content has a padding to stop it going over the grass.
The reason I need to do the resize is because I have a background image that needs to sit at the very bottom of the page (with no bar or gap below it). The reason the padding can only exist when the body is bigger than the window is because it will put a scrollbar on pages that shouldn't have them.
It works great, but the only trouble is that if somebody decides to resize their window on a page that fits in it - it breaks.
[Code]...
