Im using dreamweaver and I am wondering if there is a way or some sort of code I can stop the user from resizing text with the cntrl + mouse wheel ? Ive got CSS style sheets attached to my site but dont know what to do next?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get a text field to increase in size (one time to a predetermined size) when user clicks in the text field.
Here is the code that for some reason isn't working for me.
I have a project involving a multipage form with a text resizing function. I'd like to be able to keep the size the user selects as persistent throughout the multipage form (on other pages).
I tried creating a hidden input form and passing the value through it, but for some reason, it didn't work (it's a proprietary templating tool they're using). Am I missing something, or is there some easier way of going about this?
Just in case you're wondering, here's the code. It works beautifully, if only I could keep the font size. function ResizeText(resize)

A UI built using HTML and CSS has limited screen space. One of the elements is a div tag (<div id="mtext">) that will contain text of variable length. If the text is > 500 characters, I am displaying it as a link. When the user clicks the link, I want the text to be displayed in a layer above all the rest of the elements in the page. How can this be done using javascript..
Code:
A div element that contains some text of variable length. If the length exceeds say 500 characters, Display it as truncated text. ( like "Example text...") The entire truncated text becomes a link When the user clicks the link the content in the div element "pops out" to fill the screen above other elements on the page Image showing truncated text... (before clicking) Image showing text display after clicking the text...
I'm looking for the way to resize an element when the page loading. I'm doing some test and I've try :
function placeHeader () {
var x;
document.getElementById('header').style.display = 'visible'
for (x = 0; x < 150;x++) {
document.getElementById('header').style.width = x + "px";
}}
i just added datepicker to my contact form but looks like that adding functions resizing whole page on load, as soon as you focus on datebox page will resize back to normal size.

So if i remove :
$(function() {
$("#datepicker").datepicker();
$("#datepicker").datepicker("option", "dateFormat", 'd. MM, yy');
});
Page will load normal.
Am making a user registration page and i want it to be smaller then my other pages and it should open in a new window, something like a popup window.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have code that works fine in Firefox, but not in netscape.
I would like to open a popup window to display an "email a friend page".
this is my html/javascript
HTML Code:
<a class="emailicon" href="/e/email" title="Email Article" return false;">Email</a>
But my window does not open that size. What am i missint. IE and netscape show a full 100% size browser window.
I've set up jcarousel and configured it to work how I need it to, apart from one thing; I need the images to keep their width - height ratio when the browser is resized.
I'm using the Flexible carousel configuration and the width of the images changes appropriately when the window is resized, but the height stays the same, I need it to change.
Im playing around with some JQuery and have a small problem with my menu. I want the text to always be visible, be on hover and not on hover. Currently, the text is only visible when I hover the <li> item. Check it out at http://cooper.zxq.netBelow is my code using to produce the menu.

<script src="jquery-1.3.1.min.js" type="text/javascript" ></script>

I have 2 example/test pages of the issue I'm experiencing. For now, I'm just trying to get it to work in a standards-compliant browser, so view in something other than ie:

If you click and drag the orange bar up or down, it works fine on the first page. However, on the 2nd page, if you click the orange bar and drag down too fast, it starts selecting text and then the bar gets all wacky.
My suspicion is that the bar gets messed up because the text is being selected. That occurs because if you scroll too fast, the cursor goes off the orange slider bar and starts selecting. If you scroll very slowly so that the cursor doesn't go off the bar it seems to scroll fine.
I've tried everything I can think of to stop the text from being selected, but I'm not 100% sure if that's the cause of the problem or just a symptom of something else (maybe bubbling or something?). I tried returning false on every mouse event on the lower panel, tried creating an absolutely-positioned mask above the text in the lower panel, tried removing all text from the lower panel, tried stopPropagation(), etc., but nothing seems to work.
If I set the mousedown/over/move on the lower panel to return false, it prevents selecting text normally by clicking the mouse & dragging, but it will STILL select the text if I click on the slider bar and drag down.
I'm using jQuery to create a hover effect when a user hovers over a div. This is fine, as usual all browsers except IE do what I need of them. Inside my divs I have some text and to get the whole div area to be the link I have simply placed an anchor (last in the div in html) and abs pos'd it, given it a z-index and displayed it as block so that it is now the whole div as a link. But because of the text, IE is giving priority to the text so when I hover the div, if I hover into the text area it is taking the hovered stated off of the div. I need to stop IE bringing the text to the front. This happens in all versions of IE inc 9

here's the javascript i'm using:
$(document).ready(function () {

here's a link to the page in question: click me

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to make a web page that adapts to the size of your browser size when it maximized. Because I'm only 15 I'm not such a great programmer or coder. I've done my best with the resources I have though (Fluent in Lua and a natural ability to pick languages syntax up quickly)
Here is what I have so far, it doesn't work and it is starting to puzzle me. As it seems correct as I look at it. I'm sorry if this question show my ignorance. I try my best to hide it.
Some of it is Copy pasted from sources on Google. But only for educational purposes, I learn off reading, examining and testing out snippets.
I'm basically trying to get the max size of the window and resize the div accordingly.
