Slideshow On A Webpage The OnMouseOvers In The Menu Don't Work Anymore
Jul 3, 2010
Since I put a JavaScript slideshow on a webpage the onMouseOvers in the menu don't work anymore: [URL] Menu titles on the left should become red with a MouseOver. When I remove the Slideshow the onMouseOvers start work.
I have been working on a simple gallery/slide show. It can be viewed here: [URL]. However, I have been tried unsuccessfully to get the drop down menu and automatic sideshow to work. I would like to get the drop down button to work where when you select the for example "beach" ...the beach picture appears at as the big picture at the top. Right now, no matter what is selected it goes back to the first picture.
The page's current script can be seen here: HTML Code: <html><head> <title>Gallery</title> <script language ="JavaScript"> <!-- var photos = new Array(5); var p_no = 0; for ( i= 0; i <= 4; i++){ .....
I'm trying to make a web page using javascript for validation, but after the last 2 functions I wrote, 2 functions don't work anymore. I attached the file so you can see for yourself. And I know there are a few things I could do to the html, but I'm saving those for last. why the scripts don't work .(the functions that don't work are: "cont_pag1" and "cont_pag2"...btw...they worked just fine until I wrote the last few functions (the ones for the pag4 div)).
My webpage can work normally in IE but not in Safari(e.g. when I clicked on some buttons like 'Delete' button, the page opened in Safari stays the same while it should delete the object chosen).When I tried debugging on Safari, after clicking the 'update' button, this message error appeared: "TypeError: Result of expression 'this.form.fireEvent' [undefined] is not a function". I believe this code makes the incompatability between the 2 browser:
function DeleteClick() { var frmSWO = document.getElementById("form"); var answer = confirm("Do you really want to delete?")
Im having trouble getting my jquery slideshow to work in IE, It works fine in FF and Safari. I tried using "supersleight" which seem to help my transparent pngs and text but the slideshow doesnt even seem to be being read.
I am trying to get a javascript slideshow to work on my site. It is actually a jQuery one, but I thought I would throw this in the regular javascript forum. Right now I have 4 PNG's that are fading in and out. Everything works great in FF, but doesn't work right in IE 7 & 8. The PNG's have transparency on them and currently show a black border around 3 of them. It doesn't have this border on the first element in the slideshow. make this black border go away. It can be see at [URL]
I can get both to work separately. If Iput the slideshow below the menu bar in the body it does not play if I put the slideshow first the menu bar does not appear.
I have a variety of scripts on my webpage... I have multiple slide shows that require javascript... out of the three 2 of them work fine with pretty photo but the one I need does not....
Does anyone know why prettyphoto conflicts with this certain script?
You prolly need the code but I thought this could be a common problem and i figure there maybe an easy solution..
I was having a problem where in firefox and Chrome the mm_menus would load underneath the ultimate fade in slideshow images. The solution I finally came across was to add:
to my stylesheet. the position relative however causes a spacing issue between the rollover images and the drop down menu. on the plus side the menu is showing on top of the slideshow images now. You can see this in action right now:[URL]..
I wondered if two jQuery functions work at the same time on the web page. I did practice one with two jQuery functions, just one function work while other isn't. What is causing it? What should I do to prevent having one is working while others isn't ? Is there a code to put in there to prevent it? If so, where should it be at?
Really struggling trying to get 2 seperate sliders to work on my web page.
take a look at;
[URL]
not a spam its test site so nothing to gain from my end.
the slider at the top works fine, but the 3 boxes with the arrows underneath should scroll/slide back and forward when clicked. If I remove the js links for the top slider the bottom then works;
I have created a dummy web page with three text boxes and three buttons, Enable Disable and Reset. The enable disable buttons work as expected but the Reset button does not.
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function clear(){ document.getElementById("myForm").reset(); } function disable() { document.getElementById('txt1').disabled=true; document.getElementById('txt2').disabled=true; document.getElementById('txt3').disabled=true; } function enable() { document.getElementById('txt1').disabled=false; document.getElementById('txt2').disabled=false; document.getElementById('txt3').disabled=false; } </script></head><body><table> <form id = "myForm"> First Name<input type = "text1" id = "txt1" size = "20"><br><br> Last Name<input type = "text2" id = "txt2" size = "20"> <br><br> Contact Number<input type = "number" id = "txt3" size = "15"><br><br> <input type="button" onclick="disable()" value="Disable" /> <input type="button" onclick="enable()" value="Enable" /> <input type = "button" onclick="clear()" value = "Reset"> </form></table></body>
I've got a problem with a simple slideshow on IE7. It isn't smooth and kind of changes size on the right hand side. It works fine in standard compliant browsers.
JQuery slideshow works in dream weaver but doesn't work at all in the browser. I can't even see the pictures of the controllers for the slideshow. I can see the first image in it and thats about it as you have to click on a button to get the second menu button. It is the one at the following website [URL]. I took out the background and changed the dimensions to 900 and other than that left it the same I don't understand the issue.
I am using the jQuery plugin to create slideshow and also a accordion menu. Slideshow: [URL] The accordion menu is not working if the slideshow is working. I am new to this jQuery world.
The below is the HTML script <html><head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="nested.accordion.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-ui.min.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery("#main").accordion({ .....
In the above script, slideshow is working fine but the accordion is not working. If I comment the lines 5, 16, 17,18 then the accordion is working but slideshow is not working. There is no errors thrown.
I have a slideshow of quotes based on the "Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v2.1)" at Dynamic Drive:This is right under my navigation bar, and the drop-down menu items are hidden behind the javascript slideshow.Some background: The reason I did it this way because I first started out with a Flash banner with quotes fading in and out, and I ran into the problem with the drop-down menu items hiding behind the Flash... of course I Googled that and found the solution.But in the meantime I played with the javascript slideshow and it worked better for me because it was easier to add new quotes just within the html, without having to go back and edit the Flash item.Anyway, so is there a solution to the drop-downs being hidden behind the .js slideshow? Or should I go back to the Flash? Or is there some other sort of solution or script that would fit my needs better?
I am using this fancy box code to smoothly pop up an image on click, I got it working on my main index page but that's not where I want to put it. My site has a menu where it loads external webpages inside the main index one, I would like to use the code on one of those pages but something is not working.
I have been told its a DOCTYPE issue but I am not able to use the specified DOCTYPE, however I find that it works all the same with my current DOCTYPE choice. If I use the given one in addition to the one I use now (and need) then my site does not work properly, further if I replace it I get the same results.
My existing doctype:
Code:
<DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd" "http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
[Code]....
I even tried using the exact code from the example in that linked .htm page but it doesn't make a difference, it probably even hinders the code as it looks at the main html page. However loading the page on its own the code will work, so its related to the menu and the way that works.
I can't figure out the code to perform this task. I need to change the menu's text color with a mouseover on a webpage. The menu consists of 7 text links. Each one is a different color. The mouseover is to change the text link to orange while the other 6 menu items change to purple.
