Stopping Ctl-click In IE
Jul 23, 2005I have a situation where I want to react to a ctrl-click on a <span> and
it works in Netscape and Firefox browsers but in IE I have a problem.
In IE I do catch the ctrl-click but IE also renders the span in inverse
video, essentially selecting the item.
Here is a short sample that demonstrates the issue:

I thought the cancelBubble would prevent the event from triggering the
selection from happening but I think that the ctrl-click selection
happens before I get control.
Is there a way to prevent the selection from being rendered on ctrl-
click while still allowing my javascript to react to the event?

Jan 30, 2010I have a Portfolio section of a website I'm working on. I have the page for the most part working perfectly. I wanted to add one more effect to it. I wanted to page to run in a slideshow automatically for 5 seconds on each picture and continue to loop until someone clicks on a thumbnail below which would stop the slideshow and display the larger picture of what they clicked on. If you take a look at the page this might make more sense. This is one of the pages I wanted to add this effect to. I have alsoadded to here the jquery function that I believe this would need to be added to.

Nov 23, 2010I would like to create a plugin that I can put before a click event on a button. The click event should occur if the user's time on the page hasn't expired. The plugin should check the user's time, and then stop the click event if the time has expired. With the plugin, I'm essentially putting two click events on the same button, as I need to check the expiration when the button is clicked. The plugin is working on my test page, but I'm afraid that this is contingent on an arbitrary ordering of the click events by jQuery. If I have my click event chained after my plugin, can I be assured that the plugin would always stop the click event if the time is expired? Or could jQuery execute the click event before the time gets checked?

Second Question: For some reason, the menu is appearing behind a table row when it expands, thus hiding a good portion of the menu. Here it is: [URL]
Try clicking on 'Products & Services', and then clicking on "Centerfire Rifle Suppressors" from the dropdown menu. When it takes you to that category page, click the menu again and you will see that the menu hides behind the <h1> table row.

But when I return to link foo.html: and click the same clueTip link the clueTip link now opens in it's own window instead of the 450px clueTip window as beore would expect the small clueTip window to open and show the clueTip on each successive click as it does the first time. If I do a browser reload, the first menu selection works as it should, but only on the first click.If the menu is not used, the single file opens the clueTip correctly. Does clueTip get confused in a menu program?

Webpage Menu Not Playing Well With Image Loading Code
Jan 6, 2010I am using this fancy box code to smoothly pop up an image on click, I got it working on my main index page but that's not where I want to put it. My site has a menu where it loads external webpages inside the main index one, I would like to use the code on one of those pages but something is not working.
I have been told its a DOCTYPE issue but I am not able to use the specified DOCTYPE, however I find that it works all the same with my current DOCTYPE choice. If I use the given one in addition to the one I use now (and need) then my site does not work properly, further if I replace it I get the same results.

I even tried using the exact code from the example in that linked .htm page but it doesn't make a difference, it probably even hinders the code as it looks at the main html page. However loading the page on its own the code will work, so its related to the menu and the way that works.

I tried using "iframes" and am facing cross domain issues.

Menu Collapses On Click

My experience ranges from adapting existing code a bit to using free javascript from the worldwide intarweb to implement in my designs.I've used one of such scripts on a website I'm creating for a client, I've modified it's look and feel to accomodate the site design with success, but there are still a few kinks I need to work out before actually launching this naviagtion.The menu uses expand/collapse features powered by Jquery (the "diensten" and "klanten login" are clickable and will reveal subcontent), but there are a few issues here:As soon as you click a link or a form within the expanded parts of the menu, it closes again which is very frustrating. When you are sent away to another page (say from index.php to page2.php), the menu collapses as well. Is there a way to keep relevant expanded parts expanded for certain pages?[code]
