May 9, 2011I m trying to learn and also implement, what I would like to do is have a content div that maybe holds an image, header and content. When this div is hovered over the div is overlayed with a transparent color and a read more link is also displayed.

Reveal Content With Checkbox In Form
Jan 28, 2011I have a form which check boxes. The last check box is labeled "other". What I want is that when the user clicks other my text field contained in my hidden "details" div will be displayed so they can specify "other".
Here is the JS code I have in the head of my page:

Nov 11, 2011I am using javascripts in my index page. For navigation hovering, slideshow and the other one is for displaying inline content in a form of a lightbox. But the problem is they cant seem to work together. i have to remove the inline content JavaScript for the slideshow and navigation hovering JavaScript to work. All of them are in the header. I want to merge all these together so that they all work.

Vertical Reveal Menu
Aug 4, 2007I've been working on a vertical reveal menu. Right now it
works ok with CSS. But what i'd like it to do is when you mouse over,
reveal the menu and have that menu stay open until the user mouses
over another menu item. Right now it's a bit jumpier than i'd like it
and would like to basically have it stay open on a mouse out event,

I have colors for the products in a <select> but there are a few colors that require an extra processing step that would cost extra to the customer if they chose those colors. However I don't want that extra processing step to be visible unless those certain colors are selected because I feel it would be confusing to the customers.

New Style Sheet - Menu To Reveal / Hide DIV?
May 19, 2009I have a script that works perfectly on a live site that basically has a menu that reveals a hidden DIV and when you click a link, and then when you click a new link it hides the previous div and reaveals the new one. It is as follows:

Now I am redesigning the site to work with a new style sheet, (There wasn't one before, it was all inline styles. Anyway, it broke my script. The CSS has a class that gives certain DIV's visibility attribute the 'hidden' value by default. I was planning on using the above script to reveal/hide them, but it does nothing. Here is the CSS that affects the divs I am referring to.

How Would I Reveal Something Based On What Item Was Selected In A Drop Down?
May 18, 2006I've got a drop down with a listing of categories (Books, Apparel, Music, etc) for adding products to a database.
When the user select "Apparel" I want it to reveal a <div> with extra options. But I "only" want it to respond to if apparel was selected. If books, music, etc are selected, it should do nothing.

Calculating Height Of Iframe Content After Inserting The Content?
Nov 10, 2010I'm using JQuery to write content into an otherwise empty iframe like so:

The content is coming from an Ajax request. The content gets used more than once on the page for other purposes which is why I don't simply change the iframe src--I have to do an ajax request regardless so I'm trying to avoid multiple calls.
After I load the content, I need modify the height of the iframe so it fits snuggly around the content.
Calculating the height isn't a problem with the exception that it's not always correct and I think it's because the calculation is happening before images have downloaded.
I don't seem to be able to rely on a `load` or `ready` event to delay the calculation. The load event is the only one that tiggers on a change of iframe content, but it doesn't see the new content.

This will output '<html><body></body></html>' even though I have successfully inserted different content.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong, or if it's possible to do what I want reliably?

Toggle Content Script: Content Shown When JavaScript Is Off
Jul 21, 2007I use a small piece of JS code to make different elements on the page show/hide when clicking a link, based on id:

Then HTML looks like this:

This works. Initially the element is hidden (with style="display:none" property of the element), and the script gets its id and changes its display property to "block" when clicking on a link.
But when Javascript in a browser is turned off, the elements to show are all hidden, and there's no way to see the content of the element.
My question: is there a way to hide toggled elements on page load with JS, so that when it's turned off the hidden content is shown?
