JQuery :: Hide/Reveal Under Certain Conditions?

Dec 30, 2010

I have been building a website and am in the process of integrating a shopping cart into the website. I have colors for the products in a <select> but there are a few colors that require an extra processing step that would cost extra to the customer if they chose those colors. However I don't want that extra processing step to be visible unless those certain colors are selected because I feel it would be confusing to the customers.

JQuery :: Hide Only Half Of A Div And Then Reveal It On Hover?

Sep 23, 2010

Anyhow, as per my new site design, I need to have a DIV on the page, containing an image, some other divs, and some text within it, but have HALF of it concealed (see attached spotslideprev1.jpg) until the user hovers over the div, revealing the complete DIV (see attached spotslideprev2.jpg).I think it's pretty selfexplanatory. If anyone has any ideas or tips, I'd love to hear them!Attachments spotslideprev1.jpgSize : 209.88 KB Download : 635

New Style Sheet - Menu To Reveal / Hide DIV?

May 19, 2009

I have a script that works perfectly on a live site that basically has a menu that reveals a hidden DIV and when you click a link, and then when you click a new link it hides the previous div and reaveals the new one. It is as follows:

Javascript Code:
Original - javascript Code
LastLayer = "nothing"; // the first div/layer
function openObject(theLayer){
// pass the name of the layer you want to bring to the top
// Then hide the last layer, and make the layer passed visible. This could have been done using the z-index property
if (document.getElementById) { // if it's IE5 or NS6 use this syntax to access the visiblity attribute
eval("document.getElementById(LastLayer).style.visibility = 'hidden'")
eval("document.getElementById(theLayer).style.visibility = 'visible'")
LastLayer = theLayer;
}
if(document.layers) { // if it's NS4 use this syntax to access the visiblity attribute
eval('document.layers[LastLayer].visibility = "hidden"')
eval('document.layers[theLayer].visibility = "visible"')
LastLayer = theLayer;
} .....

Now I am redesigning the site to work with a new style sheet, (There wasn't one before, it was all inline styles. Anyway, it broke my script. The CSS has a class that gives certain DIV's visibility attribute the 'hidden' value by default. I was planning on using the above script to reveal/hide them, but it does nothing. Here is the CSS that affects the divs I am referring to.

CSS Code:
Original - css Code
.job {
border: thin solid #000000;
float: right;
margin-right: 25px;
padding-left: 10px;
width: 40%;
display: none;
}
.job { border: thin solid #000000; float: right; margin-right: 25px; padding-left: 10px; width: 40%; display: none;}
As you can see there is nothing fancy in the css that would cause any concern.

I would, first, like to know, when someone hits a submit button and a form

And second, how do you get the user to be able to browse for an image on

JQuery :: Get Multiple Form Input - Select Values From The Same Page In Php?

Apr 14, 2011

I have multiple <select></select> elements in a php page. After an option is chosen from the first drop down <select></select> element, options of the 2nd drop down <select></select> element will show up. Selection of an option from the 2nd drop down list will get the options in the 3rd dropdown list show up. Thus input from the 3rd drop down list will show up the options in the 4th drop down list. Such is the case for the 4th, 5th ,... drop down list.

Each time depending on the inputs from the previous drop down lists , the values for the immediately later drop down list will be retrieved from the database. i.e options for the nth drop down list to be retrieved from the database will depend on the selected the values from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, .....(n-1)th drop down list.

Two JS Questions In One: Giving Focus, And Clearing Form (read Inside)

Jul 23, 2005

Okay, how do I write a page with a form so that when I click Submit,
the following happens?

1. The data is submitted (of course)
2. The form is cleared (what I've tried results in the form being
cleared first, resulting in an empty submission), and
3. The cursor goes back to the start of the form, ready for more input
(kind of like how Google puts the cursor in the search box at the
start).

I can't seem to find the answer, and I've been looking on the net for a
few hours already.

Save Form Values - Show / Hide DIVs

Apr 29, 2009

I am creating a form that you don't actually submit in order to allow people to download files. You select different options with radio buttons and drop-down menus and then use that information to "show/hide" divs with javascript. That part works, but if the user leaves the page and then comes back, the data can be somewhat misleading. One radio button may be checked, but the corresponding div that was showing before you left the page is not (it was set to "display:block;" in css with the "onclick" or "onchange" depending on which choice on the form caused it to appear). I know that I need to set a session cookie to save the values on the form, but it is a bit more complicated because I need to set divs to "display:block;" or "display:none;" depending on what the values of the form fields are. I'm a novice at javascript. Since I am not submitting the form, I can"t use PHP.

Parsing Returned Values From A Multiple Selection List In A Form

Jan 5, 2007

I have a form that I am using to generate an email with several user
selected fields being part of it. As part of this form, I have a select
box which allows the user to select which email addresses it should be
sent to. The box works great except that the CGI script I'm sending the
values to can only parse a single line for each field in the form. The
issue comes into play when someone selects more than one value in the
select box, the output of the select box seems to separate each value
on a separate line using a line feed (or carriage return, I can't
tell). The format that the CGI script needs is for a single line with
each of these values separated by a comma. I'm confident that a
javascript can do this fairly easily, but unfortunately, I am not very
well versed in javascript. I've found a few code snippets on the web
that I've mangled together, but since I don't really know what I'm
doing, it isn't working out so good. I've included what I have in the
form right now below (note that I've removed all of the other form data
but the select box code to save space). Code:

JQuery :: Checking Multiple Input Values Against Various Other Hidden Minimum Values

Jul 19, 2011

I have a list of products where they have minimum quantities in a hidden input. Some products have multiple colours, though the same minimum quantity and I'm trying to implement a jQuery check that entries made are at least equal to the minimum.

Blank or '0' entries are fine but if it's below the minimum quantity it should set to the minimum.

HTML:

Is there something obviously wrong with this? It isn't performing the minimum check and I'm really not sure why.

JQuery :: Multiple Image Buttons To Show / Hide Multiple Elements

Sep 27, 2010

I am using jquery with the cookie plugin and I have multiple image buttons that can hide/show multiple elements. My question is how can I add a cookie to this code to remember whether each separate element is opened or closed?

The code,
$(document).ready(function() {
// choose text for the show/hide link - can contain HTML (e.g. an image)
var showText='<div class="expanddown"></div>';
var hideText='<div class="expandup"></div>';
// initialise the visibility check
var is_visible = false;
// append show/hide links to the element directly preceding the element with a class of "toggle"
$('.toggle').prev().append('<a href="#" class="togglelink">'+hideText+'</a>');
// capture clicks on the toggle links
$('a.togglelink').click(function() {
// switch visibility
is_visible = !is_visible;
// change the link depending on whether the element is shown or hidden
$(this).html( (!is_visible) ? hideText : showText);
// toggle the display - uncomment the next line for a basic "accordion" style
//$('.toggle').hide();$('a.toggleLink').html(showText);
$(this).parent().next('.toggle').slideToggle('fast');
// return false so any link destination is not followed
return false;
});
});
HTML,
<a class="togglelink" href="#"></a>
<div class="toggle">

Multiple Submit Buttons Need Multiple Hidden Values?

JQuery :: Adding Multiple Values To A String?

I have several checkboxes that on .click add their ID to an xml string. I am having trouble with it adding multiple ID's, currently if you have one checked and check another, it overwrites the previous. Here's what I have:

if ($(this).is(':checked')) {
services += '<SERVICE><SERVICECD>' + this.id + '</SERVICECD></SERVICE>';
}

How do I make this work with multiple ID's so it adds/removes each one based on click, not overwriting? I need to be able to have multiple ID's added to the string.
