JQuery :: Fade Out An Initial Image To Reveal Home Page?
Jan 1, 2010
Before the home page of a site i've developed appears, I want the logo of the company to appear on the screen, then fade out to reveal the web page with full functionality. I also could do this be fading out the logo to reveal a static image of the home page which then could redirect to actual home page.
I am completely new to jQuery, and I don't even know how to approach or implement what I am trying to do.Before the home page of a site I've developed appears, I want the logo of the company to appear on the screen, then fade out to reveal the web page with full functionality.I also could do this be fading out the logo to reveal a static image of the home page which then could redirect to actual home page.
At the end of my code below (9 lines up from thebottom) I have an image that fades in. I would like the sameimage to fade out after hover instead, but im unsure if this is possible due to the nature of my page.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I have a query. What is the best way to fade in an image on a page load so that the image is visible if javascript is not supported and does not jump around all over the place if it is supported. What I have found is that I can make it work using either document ready or on window onload however the images all load first and the page goes all crazy for a few seconds before the script actually does what it is supposed to. What I do not want to do is hard code the css display as none for the image as a property as either an element style or in the css file. The reason being that if the script does not run... the image will never load.
Something like starting animation to a page with about 10 jpgs. When the page start is starting slideshow fadein animation between about 10 large pics, and when the last one appears it stays as a background to content and buttons must appear when the last picture is loaded, too with fade in animation. Is sounds not so difficult, but for me become a hard task.
This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).
I have a some divs in a list which are shown or hidden using doslide. I would like to be able to make a link on another page or an email which will go to the page and reveal a specific div automatically without the user having to land on the page and then search through the list.
I'm new to java script and am desperately trying to understand it all. My first question is, I'm trying to create a "rotator" for my companies home page, much like the one on [URL]. And by rotators, I am referring the the deal that right underneath the nav bar that is rotating pics, etc. I found one I like at a different site as well, so I talked to the web developer and he graciously supplied me with the java script code for it. The code is fine, but when I place it in a document, it has the pics and text underneath each other instead if rotating the pics.
have this Multiple Image Viewer very similar, -in fact almost identical- to the one in the main page of economist.com It uses the following code and its woriking nice,
Code: function switch_product_img(divname, divnumber, divtotal) {for (var i=1; i<=divtotal; i++) { var showDivName = divname + '_' + i;
I am php developer,[URL]... a fade in fade out effect (image + text) which is working very nice but Can i do this like with text on top(not on an image)and image below it like header : text below that an image
example <table> <tr><td> header for image</td></tr> <tr><td> image here</td></tr> </table>
Can you pls suggest any other script to display an html page or pages like this just the way i had defined above in fade in fade out ....
I have posted in my community in Open Text an accordion, but only the text is displayed like a bloc, no accordion effect.on this community the Module header look and feel is based on a CSS. It seems that i have some conflicts between both (no error message displayed).
I'm stuck with a simple jquery accordion script that is[URL]..The problem is that there are links inside my divs that brings to another page where the same accordion menu should be included and left opened at the same state like the previous page (hope to be enough clear. The script I'm using will always close all the accordion divs upon the second page load. I'm a total newbie of jquery and couldn't understand exactly how jquery works (among other things I've to do i promise that I will learn jQuery as soon as possible );
I need to use a piece of Javascript similar to "this.setHomePage(url)" that works in Firefox (and IE7)
There have been other threads on this topic, but they descend into "let the user do what they want with their browser" or end with a piece of script for adding bookmarks/favourites...
Does anyone have a solution for this? Or is it something that can no longer be done with the security of new browsers?
I've almost finished employing the jQuery Accordian and Tabs UI functions on a website, but still have one remaining problem.I have a page using the UI tabs. When the page first loads the content of all the tabs flashes for a second or two and then the selected tab is displayed. After that the tabs work great with smooth transitions as expected.
The tabs on page load are filled with php include calls. Then I use ajax to refill the tabs base upon the users selections. That works fine without the load flashing of all tab contents. I did try switching all the php includes to jQuery ajax. The resulting page had the same problem with the content of all tabs flashing before the selected tab displayed.Here's some of my code:In the head:
Is my code the problem or is there something I'm leaving out that would hide the copy of the tabs loading until the document is ready and selects the first tab (index 0)?
I'm having trouble trying to figure out why on the home page there's a script error from both IE7 & IE8
"An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 49 Char: 5 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Code: 0 URL: http://gopureenergy.com/ ..."
I'm not familiar with how the IE Debugging tool works
When someone comes to my site I would like to check to see if their homepage is set to my site. If it is then nothing is done. If it is not then I'd like a link to appear that asks if they'd like to set their home page to my site.
Can this be done? If so can someone post the code to do it?
i need a script that allows users to make my page as browser homepage, (i.e, when users click a link, the page will be their home page e.x (Make anairat page as homepage.
I have a button in my site which when clicked, will set the current page to be the home page for the user. I use the following code:
var hiddenLink = document.getElementById('dummyLink'); hiddenLink.style.behavior='url(#default#homepage)' hiddenLink.setHomePage('http://www.123.com'); somewhere in my <body>, I have the following link definition:
<a href="#" id="'dummyLink'" style="display:none"></a> Now, this solution works fine for IE But I need to have a working solution for Firefox and Opera too. Does anyone know how to solve this in these 2 browers?
The objective is to have an image fade to another one progressivly while the mouse is over, when its not it fades back to the original, whether or not it faded to the target completely or not. That is, if it takes 1 second to fade completely to the other image, and you take your mouse off it at 0.5 seconds, it will begin to fade back to the original. I have a problem where I want to give this ability to multiple images (thumbnails) on a page, without having reams and reams of code and instead just have one function accomadate any number of images.
I have a javascript error in my home page. Which is annoying. I am having hard time debugging it. [URL] FF is not showing it. IE7, 8 shows the error. I just launched the website and I do not want users noticing an error.
how to make a particular website their default home page when they click the button "Make this site your homepage" using javascript. This sample code works in IE, but other browsers doesn't know this code.
how to do this stuff on other browsers. I've research on this but still can't find good codes that do something like the code mentioned above. Others are redirecting the users to do something to make the website their home page.
