Loop A Js Process That Dynamically Appends Hidden Divs ?

Jan 22, 2010

I'm trying to add some js automation to a blogging application I've developed for a wysiwig site builder program. This program doesn't allow php or any kind of server scripting, so everything has to be done with js. The basic set up is that a user enters a blog post in the application and the code below appends a comments div (which are already on the page but hidden by css) to the post:

Code:

Instead of using this code for every post instance, I'd like to create a simple loop that will assign an incremental number to the post and comments id's when a new post appears in the page's html, and then append a comments div to the post. I tried a for routine that would add 1 to every post, but couldn't get it to work right.

Using "For" Loop To Assign Link URL's To Dynamically Created Divs NOT WORKING?

Oct 11, 2009

I'm building a t-shirt shop whose interface includes a gallery of designs in an IFrame. When the user clicks on a design, a dedicated page is loaded into the IFrame which shows all the available products associated with the design the user clicked.

I've put each design's image and associated page as the first and second elements of a nested array, and am using a for loop to then load all the images into the page that's shown in the IFrame when the web-site loads. It's looking beautiful, but here's the rub I've been stuck on for two days now with no solution in sight...

The array, "designImages", has 37 elements (ie. designImages[0]... designImages[36]). When I click on a design image on the page, any design image, the browser (all browsers, so I can't blame Microsoft for this one :rolleyes: ), loads the page for design #36. I've tried all sorts of things, but still cannot tell if the issue is because the dynamically generated divs are being reassigned the value [36] after the for loop's executed, or if the div id's are okay but somehow the code is rooting for [36], the last element of the array anyway.

Cycling Through Hidden Divs ?

Jul 5, 2009

I posted here a couple days ago and got help from a really nice forum member to get my script working. Now I'm a little embolden by the good experience and am trying to be a little more ambitious. As usual, I ran into a little brick wall on my own and need a shoutout for more help.

Here is what I have so far - a main panel where different image/texts are held in 'panel' div containers within another div container, under which is a nav bar consists of thumbnail images/links. Upon onclick on one of the thumbnail images, the 'panel' div containers are set to display:block or none, effectively 'switching' the panels.

Here is what I am trying to build on top of that - ability to set one of the panel div as 'display:block' at start (right now nothing show until one of the thumbnails is first clicked), and a mechanism to cycle through the different panels via a timer (interruptable via the onclick to show/hide command).

Here is my code so far:

Hidden Divs And Error Checking

Oct 11, 2005

I have a form that displays various hidden divs if a visitor checks a certain option in my form. For example, if they select Yes in a radio button a few more form fields will appear beneath it. It works fine except when the form is not filled out properly and the form is displayed again (using PHP). When the page reloads it doesn't show the hidden div unless they select No.

how to make it so if they select Yes, it will make the div appear again when the page reloads? Here's the code I'm using: Code:

Accessing List Of Divs Via Loop?

Jan 5, 2012

Let's say I have a list of Div's on a page

<div1>
<div2>
<div3>

But depending on the users settings there could be 3 or 30...each div has a button. On press 1 it opens that div(by opens I mean populates with some data. When you press another button on another div, I want it to check the page and close any other div that may be open so you can only have one open at once.I'm familiar with loops and arrays but I'm not quite sure if this is totally possible. I'm not looking for the code, per-se, just a push in the right direction

I am trying to arrange 15 divs into a 5x3 grid.The divs have an id of piece1, piece2, piece3 etcI figured I could run a loop wherein each div is positioned to the right of the last.For each div, I'm trying to store the current position and width into variables then move it to the right by the number of pixels the div measures widthwise.This would position 5 divs horizontally and I am still unsure of how to get the next row of 5 divs positioned under the first and so on.This is what I have so far:

JQuery

Remove Space Between Hidden DIVs In Internet Explorer

Jul 23, 2005

I want to use JavaScript when a button is clicked to show and hide a
SPAN or DIV. This works in both IE and Netscape, but what I'd like to
happen is for there to be no white space where the hidden div is.

I start with two visible divs and in between them are two more hidden
ones...in Firefox this works fine--the two visible ones are right next
to each other, the button fires the script and the other div shows up
in the middle. Another button hides the div and the original two move
back together without space between them.

However on IE the two visible divs are separated by the amount of
whitespace that would be needed if the two hidden divs were actually
visible. They show and hide correctly, but the whitespace remains.
How can I fix this? Code:

var arr = document.getElementsByTagName('div')

JQuery :: Loop Through All Divs Where Class = AppStatus And On Each Iteration Pull Data From A PHP Page?

Dec 1, 2010

I have a bunch of dynamically created divs which I need to loop through and then display text inside which is obtained via AJAX.

<div class="appStatus" id="appStat_1>TEXT FROM PHP PAGE</div>
<div class="appStatus" id="appStat_2>TEXT FROM PHP PAGE</div>
<div class="appStatus" id="appStat_3>TEXT FROM PHP PAGE</div>

Basically, I want to loop through all divs where class = appStatus and on each iteration pull data from a PHP page (via AJAX) to display in the DIV. I need to send the value after the _ of the id (which I can obtain using substring) with the AJAX request in order to return the correct text.For some reason.I know that I need to do something with

$("div.appStatus").each(function() {
)};

Just got myself lost in everything I tried.

Loop For A Dynamically Generated Form

Jan 4, 2008

Here is the code:

function selectDefaults(buttonGroup){
for (i=0; i < buttonGroup.length; i++) {

if (buttonGroup[i].checked == true) {
for (count=1;count < document.addForm.recordCount.value; count++) {
var doc = document.addForm.feature1[i]
var featureVal = doc.value;
featureVal = featureVal.substring(0,2);
if ( featureVal == "SF"){
doc.checked = true}
} }}}

I need help in the second 'for' loop. Currently it is hard coded to replace the value of document.addForm.feature1 - but this field name is dynamically generated via the page it resides within. That being said, its name/id will increment depending on how large the recordset is. i.e. feature2, feature3, feature4 etc....

How do I get this to work in the javascript? I need to use this script to search all the 'feature#' fields in the form when the script is triggered. All I could think of was this: var doc = document.addForm.feature+count+[i]
which gives me a syntax error.

The purpose of this script, for those who will wish to know, is to automatically select all the features of the product that have the text "SF" (standard feature) in their value.

Dynamically Create Variable Names From A Loop?

var paper2 = new Raphael('img2', 500, 500);
c2 = paper2.rect(0, 0, 50, 20, 5);

I would like to be able to do this with a for loop. So in the above example I would want paper+i, img+i, and c+i was trying eval("paper"+i) but didn't work.

I donot know how to do it!! code...

On clicking each name, an URL should appear which has name as part of it.

For example, if the name is Kiran, then the URL will be 'Kiran.html'.
