i'm having a hard time on JS while i was designing my companies web page. it is running on wordpress, we choose and start correcting a template, then i stuck in the main menu navigation.
Code:
sfHover = function() {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return false;
var sfEls = document.getElementById("nav-ie").getElementsByTagName("li");
// if you only have one main menu - delete the line below //
i have a drop down menu which show years. When u click on the arrow it shows big list (on the page whole page) and i can see rest with the scroll bar. I want the drop down menu to display only ten items (i don't want it to be very long) and rest can be seen by scrolling the bar. Code:
I have a form with seven drop down boxes, and I would like to limit the number used at any one time to one. I've seen this done with check boxes, but I'm unsure about the syntax, etc., involved with dropdowns.
i'm having with a superfish menu i have tried to add to my wordpress site.The menu seems to work fine for the base-level (top parent pages) menu items.But the drop down menus seem to flash on screen for just a second and then disappear when the mouse hovers over the menu items.To see an example, please check out the top menu on this temporary development page: http:[url].....I have tried adjusting the z-index in superfish.css file but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.
I currently have a Drop-Down menu, which has headers you click on to show the links. This menu only allows one drop to be expanded at a time, and can be viewed here [url].
I would like the headers to be able to have 'sub-headers' inside, which also drop-down,to reveal the links. I want them to have a different header colour, and to have the same rule where only one can be open at a time. while keeping the rule with the main headers.
I have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.
The purpose of the code is to slideToggle open one of two hidden sub-nav bars when either of two different menu items are clicked upon - instead of a drop down menu. What doesn't work is the hiding of the div that is not required, if it is already open. Viewing in firebug shows that the appropriate classes are being applied - I suspect the reason is that slideToggle has been somehow set and cannot be unset via another object - but perhaps that is not it at all?
$(document).ready(function() { //add .toggle function to appropriate li element $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4)').toggle(function () { //set 4th menu links colour to be green whilst div is shown $('#hozmenu li:nth-child(4) a').css('color', '#95d890'); $('#toggle_nav_services').removeClass('toggle_show'); [Code]....
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
I'm building a drop down menu like [URL] or [URL] or [URL] the effect I'm trying to achieve is to have the top menu item showing a background image via css and create a stylized design with the sub-menu. Using CSS when I hover over the sub menu the background image of the top item disappears. So I'd like some guidance with javascript on how to keep the back-image while hovering on the sub menu.
, I'd like to think this is fairly simple but unfortunately my knowldege of jquery is limited to using prebuilt scripts and changing a few variables to get what i need. I created a drop down menu with a slide down/up animation for submenus, which worked out just as I wanted. I ran into troubles though when trying to add a nested menu to the drop down, but with a slide animation going from left to right. I'm sure my explanation isn't very clear, so please take a look [URL] The nested submenu I am speaking of should only open when hovering occurs on the 'Item 01' link, but as you can see it also opens when hovering over the buyers link. Secondly, my attempt to slide from left to right on this ul is not working, it seems to be sliding down even though this was not defined in the code.
I'm currently redesigning my site, and I have a small quandary.[URL].. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same size monitor as me, therefore sometimes the drop-down menus get cut off. Is there a way with this script for it to auto-detect if it's going past the bottom edge, and when this happens it'll go upwards instead?
I am looking to put a drop down menu in my for i have the drop down set up but i am not sure how to do the make hidden text field pop up when "Other" is selected. I am guessing you use javascript to make this happen
HTML Code: <td><select name="actionrequest" onchange="Select(this,'budget',1);"> <option value="Calibration">Calibration</option> <option value="calibration and repair">Calibration and Repair</option> <option value="repair">Repair</option>
I'm having a little trouble with 2 differentJS scripts. I have a drop down slide menu and a parralex slide gallery. Both work on separate pages and puton the same page they still work however the submenu of the slide down menu does not. if I remove the style sheet that belongs to the gallery
Then the munu works, however (obviously) the page layout goes wrong. if i remove<h1 class="title">Alex Holland Perspective</h1> the menu works however page layout goes wrong andI loose my header
i have a select box which has num 1 to 10.when i select each number,that many number of textboxes and one submit buttin shud come.The submit button when clicked shud go to another page.
All the numbers should match. It's not working right in any version of IE I test it in (6, 7 and 8). I'm also using jQuery, fyi.When you click the button to stop the numbers, I'm setting a variable named winner to a number (3, 4 or 5). Right now, I have it set to 5. This number determines how many of the slots match:[code]I'm then generating a random number (0-8) to base all the other numbers off of . Three numbers will always match, so I'm setting two more variables to match that random number.[code]Then I do some conditionals to check the value of winner. If it's 4, I set the 4th number to random number, then generate a random number for the 5th spot while it doesn't equal randomnum. I do something similar if winner is set to 5.[code]The goto trigger sends the scroll to the specified index according to slotnum(1-5).I'm waiting to hear back from the plugin developer to see if it's something to do with that.However, I just want to make sure my logic in generating those numbers is sound. It works perfectly in FF, Opera and Chrome but (surprise!) not in any of the IEs (tested in 6, 7 and 8).
i donot know javascript at all but i know how to use it yesterday i open the javascriptsource.com and i found script menugen in it there are only 30 option of drop down menu but i want more than 100 what i do now Please?:(
I'm completely new to javascript. I want to use dreamweaver with javascript to do a litter project in which I want to move value "Saleman" from drop-menu 1 and value "Billy" from drop-down 2 to a list box. The result should be as follows:
dropdown 1 Manager Salesman (to be selected) Cleaner
I'd like some help trying to generate input fields on the fly. What I have on an HTML page is a single text input field labelled #1, e.g. #1 <input type="text">. Next to the field is a button that, on click, I'd like to automatically generate a second text input field below the first, labelled #2. Everytime the button is clicked, another field is created with an incremented label.
I explored iframes, but these text fields will be part of a larger form that has to be passed together. I'd rather not use hidden text fields because I don't want to hardcode a limit to the number of fields available. Please point me in the right direction, or let me know if this isn't possible.
I am using ASP to dynamically generate a series of forms. When the page is loaded, everything appears to be correct, except that the first form generated fails with a "FormName is Null or not an Object" error. Each subsuquent form created by the code after that works perfectly. Why is it that the first form, generated with exactly the same block of code, fails? Code:
I am teaching myself javascript and in the course of my experimentation have run into this roadblock: I want to display a styled navigation bar with a button beneath it. When the button is clicked, an onclick event will be triggered and the response of the browser should be to print the word "test" right beneath the button. However, what actually happens is the page blanks out and the word 'test' appears in the upper left corner of the screen.
I have to do a project, the requirements i have got are, same link on multiple pages should lead to a single page on client's site, but the page should be different for each link clicked.
What i understand from this is, we will send parameters with each link to a JS or php file and then generate a dynamic page each time, but i am not clear how many files we need to call and what will be the sequence. I want to implement this in JS and php.
how to implement it with JS and PHP if we send parameters with the url and if we don't send any parameters.
I've been working on a redesign of our site at ExperiencePlus for some time now, and long ago chose CBE menu 9 over the other menu technologies out there because of its browser independance. Problem is, as you can see, we have a pretty large site; load-times for the menus and associated scripts are approaching prohibitive. So I'm trying to speed things up.
You can see the results of some simplification here - still about the same speed by my guesstimates.
So, my question is twofold, I guess. First, Mike, do you have any ideas about how long it will take X menu 4 to reach maturity? No pressure ;^) If it were ready now, I'd just drop CBE in favor of X.
Second question: How much performance improvement can I expect from removing unnecessary code (sliding, for example) from the CBE core files? I haven't played with that stuff at all, except to read it now & then when looking for solutions to problems. Does anyone have a similarly large implementation of CBE menu9 that runs faster, so that perhaps they could share their experience?
One final thing: I'm planning to eventually shove all this into a PHP document that will auto-generate chunks of the menu from database queries, especially around the tour & country listings and our "Resource Room." (X menu 4 looks like it would be vastly superior for that purpose, since it's so lean.) I'm interested in hearing from anybody who's tried to do something like this, whether they succeeded or not.
I have 2 drop-down menus (1) States (2) Shows By State. My question is how do I invoke a re-build of the Shows By State drop-down when the user requests a different state. I believe this has to be done with Javascript and I don't know Javascript. Could someone supply a small example of how this is done?
I am using PHP and MySQL. Following is the PHP code for building the state drop-down menu:
<tr><td bgcolor="#EFC891" width="496" align="left"><b>Select a Show in Your State:
