Nov 2, 2011I have two img tags and a jquery script which changes the value of the src attribute of each one picked from an array of images and alternatively set the display to block and assign a decreasing z-index.
The problem is that when the hidden image pops up, it seems as if, at first, set the css display to block and then change the source of the file as, for a second, it hangs to the previous loaded picture. Well I thought it was easy to manage by setting a delay but instead seems not to do anything. And then with a setTimeout but it doesn't work as expected..

May 31, 2011I'm attempting to make a simple hover image gallery with a static large image which swaps with a thumb on hover. However, on hover what happens is the new image comes up as the large image and if I then hover over another thumb it replaces that thumb with the original bigpic image source.

function is supposed to change the src of a larger image elsewhere on
the page. Think: click the thumbnail to see it at the enlarged_image

I dont think 'this' is doing what I want it to, plus I get the error

May 12, 2010I don't know why but it's not working no matter how much i try to do it. I was planning on posting some elements on a page's div and one of them allows for mutiple things going on at once, as in allows for someone to have more than one of something. And since i don't think that it'll be working right if i try to pull it from 1+ items with the same name it'd just show the last one? Or is it that PHP would show them as a list... either way it's seeming that .attr() doesn't allow for a name change for some odd reason. And i was wondering if there was any function to allow for this to be changed easily written within jquery.

I'm using CKEditor for my project and wanted to add a selfmade filebrowser for including media into my articles. Therefore i created a "insert_media.php", which inherits all necessary logic to retrieve media items from a database.
The "insert_media.php" is opened inside "article.php" via TopUp (JS library) in form of a lightbox iframe - for sure "article.php" has jQuery loaded in its header.
Now, when I'm clicking on a media item (inside "insert_media,php"), i want to have the content of my textarea "#content" (inside "article.php") being appended by the necessary HTML code.
I'm able to retrieve the val of #content ("article.php") inside my iFrame ("insert_media.php") via $("#form_content_content", window.parent.document).val(); but i can't manage to have access to it into the other direction.

"data" is a string with html content. this works quite good in all browsers but I wonder if there is a better solution.firefox doesn't load the content correctly if the content is too large and doc.close() is called too early.

Iframe Src To Change The Src Of Another Iframe?
Oct 25, 2009Getting to the poiint; I have a 'index.html' document that creates 3 iframes, each within a row of a 1 column, 3 row table. So I have a top (frame1), middle,(frame2) and bottom(frame3). Frame1 src="header.html" is a descriptive banner. Frame2 src="Start.html" is where the real application does all the work. Frame3 src="footer.html" is a footer, that may contain 1 or more images or small buttons.
I will include the code for index.html at the end:
What I can't seem to do is have "start.html" change the content or src of frame1, recall start.html is the src of frame2. When a button within a form within start.html is pressed (onclick), a cgi (c program) outputs new html into frame2, a mainmenu of buttons. Now frame2 contains a list of buttons, and I want frame1 to contain text "Main Menu". Likewise, in the mainmenu, when the settings button is pressed a cgi program will output the settings HTML to frame2, and I want frame1 to contain the text "Settings".
Sure, the cgi program could change/re-write the contents of "header.html", but whats the best method, and then, how to reload the iframe, or change it's src.

Jul 12, 2011I've been using 1.3 which allows me to query non-standard attributes on tag. On an anchor I set a value="" attribute and was able to say (in an onclick binding) $(this).attr('value') to get the value. This no longer works with 1.6. Is there another, better way to do this?

Mar 26, 2010I used the jquery-function replaceWith() to replace this html part <div class="montag">...</div> with this part <div id="ersatz">...</div> Then i implemented a listener for montag and a listener for ersatz, so I can switch back and forth between the different parts.
The side gets loaded within the montag div and when i click on this part the listener works and the html gets switched to the ersatz part, but after this the listener for ersatz does not work, although the modified html gets displayed in firebug. Are there any solutions for such a kind of problem?
