i need to assign onclick function to file inupt, in fire fox on windows
function is executing just after click, but on mac it seems to be execut
after file browse window is closed (in safari it works ok).
<script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ $("#addtext").keypress(function (e) { var c = String.fromCharCode(e.which);
[Code]....
When I type a character into the input field, it gets echoed twice in the target area. I know it is getting fired twice because the alert box will pop up twice.
var ArrayVariable = New Array(); $(document).ready(function() { $("#inputbox").autocompleteArray(ArrayVariable, { delay: 10,
[Code]....
Filling the input box does not present the list of matching array elements. I believe the array has the wrong structure because it is not recognized in jQuery.fn.autocomplete. options.data is set to null because data.constructor does not return an array. The array is filled by looping through all elements of a json stucture returned from an ajax call as in ArrayVariable[index] = jsonResponse [i]. It appears to be a normal array when looking at it with visual studio. I've also tried to create a string as in var ArrayVariable = ""; and ArrayVariable = "[ 'elementone', 'elementtwo', 'elementthree']"; but that was not successfull either.
I'm developing am income tax calculator, and everything is going swell. Currently the user can type in their adjusted gross income (AGI), hit submit, and learn the amount of income tax they would pay, their tax rate, and their income after tax.
I've played around with the events to get the submit button to work in FF, IE, Chrome and Safari -- and I've gotten the enter button to work before with some stock code, but here's the catch: when the user presses enter, i want the focus to leave the input box. I don't care where it goes (submit button, I suppose?) but i need it to leave the input field so the onfocus="clearText(this);" event can fire when they return to type in a new income.
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function TotalGrossPerYear() { var Calc = document.NetIncome; if (Calc.InputRad[0].checked) {
I have a <input type = file> button for uploading a file in my php page. As soon as i select a file from the button, i need the file data to be displayed so that i check whether the file selected has the correct data. How can i do this.
is there a way to assign an event to a file input so that when a user selects a file to upload the event is triggered and i can check out the file extension? The reason why is simple, i want to perform different actions depending on the type of the file.
I wanna send a file thru the JQuery.load, I want it to work exactly like the regular post without the JQuery. So I can check the $_FILES['file']['error'] in PHP and all its features like I do without using JQuery.
$("#load").load('gerenciar_itens.php',{/* This is where I wanna pass the file. */}, function(data){ alert(data); });
I have a form with three Input File form objects in which the user can add image files. But I am worried about the problems these controls can lead, because to check the file size the server needs to receive the entire file, so serious problems may happen, for example:
1. Malicious user trying to collapse the website sending big files.
2. Users that have not seen the warning “Maximum size: 100 KB for each image, and try to send three image files consisting in 1,5 MB each one. These users will have a bad experience waiting one hour or more to upload the images, and after that receive an alert saying “Oooops! Your image files are too big. And also, web server will waste an important amount of resources. The same case with 100 users at the same time can be a nightmare!
I have been searching a way to check the file size on client side without having to force user to install anything, but I think that there isn’ t nothing to do with javascript. But I found an interesting PHP article that explains a way to do it with this server side language. The technique consists in:
“A hidden field (measured in bytes) that precede the file input field, and its value is the maximum filesize accepted. This is an advisory to the browser, PHP also checks it. This form element should always be used as it saves users the trouble of waiting for a big file being transferred only to find that it was too big and the transfer failed. Code:
I have a form with 3 text inputs; onclick I pass their values to another php file to process everything in that file without a refresh, it works fine, but in the same form I also have a input and I need to pass its value to that other file as well, does anybody know how to do it? This is what I have:
function processform(){ $.post('processnewpostForm.php', {title: newpostform.titleInput.value,
If a form as an input='file' element, and someone clicks on BROWSE and then changes their mind and clicks CANCEL, if JavaScript can detect that cancel?
Am developing a form in which user image should be viewed and stored in web database. I am using html5 and javascript. While using input type= "file" to browse the image, chrome shows the file path as c:/fakepath/*.jpg.
How can I get the full path name in google chrome to display image and to store it in web database.
If you have some other options to display and store the image in web database using javascript and html5
I know that the input "file" type can't be customized very well using css, so I figured I might try to make my own with javascript. The only problem is, I don't know too much about javascript. point me in the right direction on how to make my own custom file upload box in javascript that works the same way as the default one works (so I don't have to edit my PHP coding). Also, heres something I'd like to achieve: [URL]
I want to restrict the user from being entering the value in <input type="file">. It works fine in IE but not in Mozilla. I am sending my code also which works in IE and not in Mozilla...
Using this code, I'm able to catch the event that occurs when I click in the "browse" button or in the text input box.
I need to catch another event: when the user has chosen the file in the dialog and pressed "Open".
I can't us onpropertychange because what I want to do is to check the name of the chosen file and eventually modify the text area. This would make a recursive onpropertychange event call... so I need something else.
I would like to use input type file, but i would like to put any file in it when i go on the page for example when user go back after try to submit
imagine any form to fill for send information...but after the user validate....one on the fields is bad...then the user must be correct this field.....But i don't want another fields are empty. The user must just correct one fields and keep another fields
This pice of code is dynamically created by my shopping carts admin section which is an attribute for a certain product.
The problem I have is that all the attributes are displayed in an array and positioning each is not possible (well, I have posted a query in another forum with regards to that). I have taken the code, as viewed in the source code, and added it in where I please e.g. radio buttons, checkboxes etc, which function perfectly.
This does make 'duplicate' field but I have used display:none on the generated code which hides it. I have found a snippet of code which fixes issues will type=text fields....
But this can not be done when it comes to type=file.
Once you browse and select your image, i need the directory to be entered into the 'real' field for uploading when submitted.
Does anyone know if i can write a generic javascript function that check the file extension of the uploaded files and if the extension is incorrect erases the value because the user upload's more then one file i want to get the ID from the form something like:
fileselectedchange(obj) { var fileEXT = obj.substring(obj.indexOf('.')+1, obj.length); if (fileEXT.toUpperCase() != 'XLS'){
I have a form that allows a user to upload a file. When they select a file (onChange), I call a JS function that analyzes the filename for specific keywords and then populates a multiple select box with the keywords.
The problem is, IE for Mac doesn't do the onChange properly. In all other browsers, as soon as I select the file, the onChange fires and the filename gets analyzed, etc. In IE for Mac, I have to click away from the file input box for the onChange to take effect. The user won't know to do this.
I've tried a ton of things already, including setting timers that force the file input to lose focus. Nothing seems to work. Code:
can anyone tell me how do i disable the file type dialog box .
I want the user select the file through browse buttton,but i do not want him to edit the file name he has select in the text box where it gets dispalyed.
