JQuery :: Pass ('input:file') To Another Php File Without Refresh?
Aug 15, 2011
I have a form with 3 text inputs; onclick I pass their values to another php file to process everything in that file without a refresh, it works fine, but in the same form I also have a input and I need to pass its value to that other file as well, does anybody know how to do it? This is what I have:
function processform(){
$.post('processnewpostForm.php',
{title: newpostform.titleInput.value,
I have a <input type = file> button for uploading a file in my php page. As soon as i select a file from the button, i need the file data to be displayed so that i check whether the file selected has the correct data. How can i do this.
is there a way to assign an event to a file input so that when a user selects a file to upload the event is triggered and i can check out the file extension? The reason why is simple, i want to perform different actions depending on the type of the file.
I wanna send a file thru the JQuery.load, I want it to work exactly like the regular post without the JQuery. So I can check the $_FILES['file']['error'] in PHP and all its features like I do without using JQuery.
$("#load").load('gerenciar_itens.php',{/* This is where I wanna pass the file. */}, function(data){ alert(data); });
I have a form with three Input File form objects in which the user can add image files. But I am worried about the problems these controls can lead, because to check the file size the server needs to receive the entire file, so serious problems may happen, for example:
1. Malicious user trying to collapse the website sending big files.
2. Users that have not seen the warning “Maximum size: 100 KB for each image, and try to send three image files consisting in 1,5 MB each one. These users will have a bad experience waiting one hour or more to upload the images, and after that receive an alert saying “Oooops! Your image files are too big. And also, web server will waste an important amount of resources. The same case with 100 users at the same time can be a nightmare!
I have been searching a way to check the file size on client side without having to force user to install anything, but I think that there isn’ t nothing to do with javascript. But I found an interesting PHP article that explains a way to do it with this server side language. The technique consists in:
“A hidden field (measured in bytes) that precede the file input field, and its value is the maximum filesize accepted. This is an advisory to the browser, PHP also checks it. This form element should always be used as it saves users the trouble of waiting for a big file being transferred only to find that it was too big and the transfer failed. Code:
If a form as an input='file' element, and someone clicks on BROWSE and then changes their mind and clicks CANCEL, if JavaScript can detect that cancel?
Am developing a form in which user image should be viewed and stored in web database. I am using html5 and javascript. While using input type= "file" to browse the image, chrome shows the file path as c:/fakepath/*.jpg.
How can I get the full path name in google chrome to display image and to store it in web database.
If you have some other options to display and store the image in web database using javascript and html5
I have my site all set up with a horizontal accordion menu and a content area into which I load a DIV via jQuery from an external php-file.
Let's say I have the content of one category loaded and I offer two links to switch between subcategories. Now of course I could simply have the content in different DIVs - both loaded and only one at a time visible and toggle. But the markup is always the same, only the text in different. So I would prefer not to repeat the markup and instead define the text through a php-variable and an if-else-construction. To achieve a result, I would need to reload (or rather reparse) the already loaded php-file with the new condition when clicking on the subcategory.
Is there a way to "unload" the ajax-loaded file or reload it? I tried simply loading it again and also removing the DIV before that. But it didn't work. Also now not solely the DIV is loaded but the whole page reloaded. Neither
Code JavaScript:
Nor
Code JavaScript:
would do it.
I have been mostly working with php and prefer it in these cases also in terms of progressive enhancement.
I'm trying to create an upload script which uploads the file without refresh, but somehow the script doesnt upload the file even though it processes the javascript correctly?
I know that the input "file" type can't be customized very well using css, so I figured I might try to make my own with javascript. The only problem is, I don't know too much about javascript. point me in the right direction on how to make my own custom file upload box in javascript that works the same way as the default one works (so I don't have to edit my PHP coding). Also, heres something I'd like to achieve: [URL]
I've a form having input feilds name , email, image and comments. I want to submit the form without page refresh and upload the file on server using ajax jquery in php language. i
I'd like to learn how data is passed form one file to another and then displaying at when an error occurs. I have this php script that checks if an domain really exist
i am trying to have the content of a txt file loaded in a page (which works), but this file changes on a regular basis and I need just the text to refreash, not the whole page, this is what I have... As mentioned, it correctly displayes the content of the .txt file, but from the code I have, I need it to refresh
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head>
Now i have a doubt, how i can pass the variables $var and $var1 with ajax to a PHP file? to make sql querys and replace the values of $var and $var1[code]...
It seems using the JQuery .val() function for FILE inputs doesn't work correctly in IE. That is, I can't change the value (file name). I'm trying to clear it, using .val(''). This works in Firefox but not IE.
