I searched, but couldn't find answers--probably because I'm not sure what this is called... Anyway, I have about 50 web pages and I want to have some JavaScript that will read in a list of keywords, scan the web page and create links on any of those keywords... Is there any way to
do this sort of thing?
If you have a javascript interpreter running in an environment unknown
to you (as in what objects it exposes to the language) is it possible
to loop through all objects in some way?
This is a non-browser environment, specifically the scripting engine
for doing xslt extensions in msxml.
I have to stuff multiple objects in global var populated in a foreach loop and seperated by a comma.The loop is:
// GlobalG.objects;
$('.class').each(function() {
var title = $(this).text();
var src = $(this).attr('src');

Once this is done and I've got all the servo objects created with their properties, I'm hoping to be able to search for all servo's with a set property i.e all servo's with servo.application = 1 would that be possible, if not I geuss I'd be wasting all our time trying to create classes I can't use the way I'd like.
I need to create 14 javascript Ajax objects and assign properties and events to them. Since most of the code is just being repeated, I'd like to do the whole thing in a loop using an array for the object names. This is a portion of the code as it now stands:
boxe2_tree = new dhtmlXTreeObject("boxe2_div", "100%", "100%", 0);
boxe2_tree.enableCheckBoxes(1);
// etc.
boxe2_tree.loadXML("./xml/boxe.xml",function(){loadTree('boxe2_tree');});
warn2_tree = new dhtmlXTreeObject("warn2_div", "100%", "100%", 0);
warn2_tree.enableCheckBoxes(1);

Trying to figure out OO programming for JavaScript and I'm totally lost.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I'm posting search data to a PHP form to run a query on a database.
The structure is sort of like this:
So I'm thinking I need to create search objects or arrays. Initially, I thought I could do something like this:
Code:
This doesn't seem to work. It says object not defined whenever I try to do something.
I've also tried creating a JSON object like this:
Code:
This will allow me retrieve the data like I want to:
Code:
The problem is I can't figure out how to add data to the JSON object without manually typing it in. I need to be able to loop through form elements on my HTML page and set them to these variables. I'm using jQuery and doing something like this:
Code:
What about if I had something like this where a for loop creates all the variables for you...rather than having to write them out on individual lines like so:
for(i = 0; i < myForm.elements.length; i++) {
tempControl = myForm[i];
var e = tempControl.name;
var [e] = document.myForm[e].value;
}
As oppose too:
bodyChooseColour = document.myForm.bodyChooseColour.value;
bodyChooseFont = document.myForm.bodyChooseFont.value;
bodyChooseFontSize = document.myForm.bodyChooseFontSize.value;
bodyChooseFontColour = document.myForm.bodyChooseFontColour.value;
etc...
However, the for loop does not work...Firefox JavaScript console reports 'Missing variable name' pointing to the 'e'.
I'm trying to add elements to a list. It isn't going too well! The option elements are years from 2004-2013. My code below successfully increments my year variable, but I'm obviously going awry with how I'm writing to the document. At the moment I get 10 separate select boxes instead of the single select list containing the 10 options for each year.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a project where I need to redo the same thing with new variable names
Code JavaScript:
var paper1 = new Raphael('img1', 500, 500);
c1 = paper1.rect(0, 0, 50, 20, 5);
var paper2 = new Raphael('img2', 500, 500);
c2 = paper2.rect(0, 0, 50, 20, 5);
I would like to be able to do this with a for loop. So in the above example I would want paper+i, img+i, and c+i was trying eval("paper"+i) but didn't work.
How can you create a multidimensional array with an each() loop?
The each function has to loop trough the .ui-selected object, and put all id's and the offset in an array ...
This is the code I was playing with .
Code:
function sendAjax() {
var files = new Array();
$('.ui-selected').each(function(index) {

Is it possible to create a loop using code to play a song on a webpage? Or does the while statement have to produce numbers like 1, 2, 3? I don't really understand what types of things I am allowed to use when creating a loop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this is possible, but I want to create a multiple vars dynamically, for instance, these are the vars I create manually,
Code JavaScript:
var left_1 = $('.column-global.left .item-global').eq(0);
var left_2 = $('.column-global.left .item-global').eq(1);
var left_3 = $('.column-global.left .item-global').eq(2);
but the problem is I only need two or one vars above sometimes. but three is the max.
so I am thinking of passing a parameter into the function to tell the code to create either 2 or 3 vars,
Code JavaScript:
// I declare empty vars first
var left_1;
var left_2;

I'm trying to create an associative array in javascript from within the loop that sets up my html table. I can't get my head around assigning the associative key-value pair (probably not the best way of putting it). I've written the below in php. What's the equivalent in javascript? The => is the part that's baffling me.
PHP Code:
$test_array[] = array ([INDENT]'seller_id'=>$seller_details[$column]['seller_id'],
'products_id' => $item_details[$idval]['products_id'],
'shipping_price' =>$item_details[$idval]['shipping_price'])[/INDENT]
Having a tough time integrating the 2. Trying to create 2 loops, the inner one I had working as below, until I tried to add the outer loop which iterates through the tables

//
var i=0;

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to scan files on a local hard drive using Javascript? I'm trying to create a GUI for a program using html and js. As such the html files will only be accessed from the local machine using Firefox. I would like to avoid using server-side scripts, as I want to use this on a computer without server software installed. My overall objective is I want the javascript to scan all files (data plots I've made) in a directory on the local machine. The JS would create a list of possible dates based on which files were found, the user would then select the date which would then display the corresponding plot.
