I am trying to scan links inside an iframe. Iframe id is changing at every page load but it is nested inside certain divs. All i want is scanning links titles inside iframe. Currently i am able to scan links titles but it does not read inside iframe ones.
I searched, but couldn't find answers--probably because I'm not sure what this is called... Anyway, I have about 50 web pages and I want to have some JavaScript that will read in a list of keywords, scan the web page and create links on any of those keywords... Is there any way to do this sort of thing?
I have a page that displays in an iframe. How to get the index of the iframe in the parent window in which my page is getting displayed using javascript.
HTML Code: <html> <iframe src="A.html"></iframe> <iframe src="B.html"></iframe> <iframe src="C.html"></iframe> </html>
if I run the javascript from B.html then I should get the iframe position as 2. same way, if I run the javascript from C.html then I should get the iframe position as 3.
i guess this isn't really jQuery specific rather than it is a global JS-thing, but I tried general solutions for this and they all did not work so I figured this might be because I'm trying to do this with the $ function.
What I wanna do is this: I have a document with an iFrame. From inside that iFrame I wanna call the $-function of the original (parent) document. I tried so many things like
parent.$ top.$ window.parent / top.$ the stuff above with .document.$
and other stuff but none of that works. So, how do you call $ of the real document from inside an iFrame?
I have an iframe and I load a html page with jquery code.I have 2 checkboxes and I have 2 div in this iframe. That way when someone checks the check boxes it will appentTo html code into the div.I was not able to run any code or get them working. So I just wanted to test if I can do it. So I wrote basic code which is this:[code] I tried that code above. I won't work. It was to detect if the input check box named hosting_Service is checked. If it is checked then it will have a popup window with a message saying ok.I put this code it and tried it. Nothing happens when I click the check box.

'm using dhtmlmodal for creating modal windows.Modal window is created inside a "iframe".My problem:I open a modal window, that window is redirected to another page in a different server and I try to close the window with javascript. But dhtml modal closes the window with:Quote:parent.vmodal.hide() Due to the window in the iframe is from a different host, it say "permission denied".Also windows.close() doesn't work with a iframe. My question How can I close an iframe from inside the iframe?
How do i make it so that when there is an event insidean iframe on the page, it affects and can call a function from the outerpage? (that houses the iframe
I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.
I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.
2) I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like
Code: page2.html#tab3
I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.
on the top of the page with the pictures scrolling with news and links inside of them without using flash. like with ajax or something? and if it can be done... how would i go about it?
so I've got this page with the following iframe: <iframe src="http://test.page.local/promo/" height="350" width="214" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> And within the framed page, a list of links, a sample of which looks like this: <li><a href="http://www.test.com/johnny-be-good/" target="_blank">Johnny's been good</a></li> yet when I click the links, the page loads within the iframe. The target is set to open a new tab or window, yet the links refuse to do so. I've tried _blank, _top, _parent, and resorted to hijacking the links with JavaScript (which seems to me to be overkill) and nothing works. I know this can't be hard, but its driving me nuts.
Disclaimer 1: I am not a programmer, just a curious designer, so please take that into consideration in your replies.
Disclaimer 2: Despite all advices against it, I couldn't find a better solution to my website than using iFrame
Disclaimer 3: Before asking for help, I researched *several* forums and although I found people discussing similar issues,
implementing a method to intercept and redirect external links to a dynamic iframe. By "dynamic" iframe I mean an iframe whose SRC would be filled up in accordance to the external URL being intercepted and that it would resize its HEIGHT accordingly in order to avoid scroll bars. The function for resizing the iframe id="child" is already correctly implemented like so:
<script language="JavaScript"> <!-- function calcHeight()[code]...
This "replacement" function would be called onLoad and if tested true would run and refresh the page with the proper value in the iframe SRC.All this should be accomplished while still making the iframe HEIGHT dynamically adjustable and show a "clean" URL in the browser, such as "http:[url].....The potential issues I foresee is an infinite loop due to two onLoad queries (one for SRC, another for HEIGHT) in the parent and child objects, which might required a merge into a single script.
I have developed an intranet local site that consists of a home page: index.html which contains an iframe.
Above the iframe, I have a navigation bar that opens pages with target:iframe inside the iframe.
iframe's src is set to a page named home.html and this is the page displayed when you visit the site.
I would like to be able to give users links that point directly to certain pages that populate within the iframe and not instructions on how to get to them via the nav bar. And I am not talking about the pages alone but the parent piece where the navigation bar is (nav and iframe are contained in the index.html)
Except obviously the home.html, I am unable to do that. I have found a few Javascripts but I was not clear if they were supposed to help me achieve what I wanted and they haven't worked.
Entire Code Sample:[URL]I can get this code to work no problem if I create a second iFrame ("iNav") just to load the DHTML menu into. EX:
Code:
var FirstLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where first level appears var SecLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where sub levels appear var DocTargetFrame='icontent'; // Frame where target documents appear
However I would like to avoid this as I really just want the single iFrame on my page and then dynamically load content into the iFrame via the DHTML menu.
