I want to change the href for all the <a> tags once the page has full loaded.
Is there any way to do it.
I am using an online e-commerce hosting solution and they wont let me modify certain pages because they have full control. Is there a way to do it through jQuery?
Here is the tag:
<a href="AccountSettings.asp?modwhat=change_a">Change e-mail address, or password</a>
I want to change the text "Change e-mail address, or password"
It launches in IE and give the user instructions, then at the click of a button, launches my setup.exe. I want my webpage to launch setup.exe then go to another webpage on my CD, congratulations.html, which says "installation is complete etc". Here's what I am trying to do through JAvascript. It doesn't work. Should the first instruction be flushed in order for the 2nd one to work?

I'm pretty sure this is a Javascript issue, despite the subject line of this message.I'm using Javascript to create a popup window on my site. Users click on the link and get a popup with supplemental information about the item they clicked on. Works great. The html link to open the popup looks like this:
<a href="javascript:popup(xMoreInfo_popup)" onMouseOut="clearEl();">Click HERE for more information</a>
...where "xMoreInfo_popup" is a variable that tells the "popup" function which information (html code) to display. This then connects to a Javascript function that looks like this:
var popupWin
var wholeWin
function popup(term) // write corresponding content to the popup window
[code]....
Now to my problem. This works as expected and just perfectly in IE. If the user clicks on the GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL link, it autoscrolls down to the supplemental information. In Firefox, however, it behaves quite oddly. Instead, when the link is clicked, the popup window displays the html from the original parent, rather than the information in the popup window! Now I can click on the original "parent window" link in the popup window, then it shows the popup information again in the same popup window, but autoscrolled to the proper place this time.
Creating <a href > xx </a> and XX tags
I want to insert url in textbox1 and Anchor in textbox2
And get two results:
One A href tag with the inserted url and anchor
One [url] phpbb tag
I have a web page where a third party application "SharePoint" is broken file urls.If I have a file url like this \jquery.comfolders est folderdoc1.docThe application will add an href tag and the html will come out like this
<tr>
<td>
<a href="\jquery.comfolders est">\jquery.comfolders est</a> folderdoc1.doc

What is a good way to switch a number at the end of a string?Im trying to change the value 0 to value 1 at the end of a URL when a button is clicked. (And vise-versa)So if I have this:<a class="important_ajax" href="projects/important_ajax/0"></a>Them the part here should be simple but im unsure of a good way to do this easily:
$(".important_ajax").click(function() {
$obj = $(this); // So I can use THIS object inside of other objects.
$url = $obj.attr('href'); // This is the URL: projects/important_ajax/0

I have external links on my website which are added by users of the system. I want to do the following:
1) Change the HREF value via jquery of any external hyperlink to be a page on my site that opens in a new window
2) This page will be a 'Please wait, we are redirecting you to your chosen website
' kind of page
3) This page then redirects the user to the URL they clicked after a couple of seconds
I thought of doing something like the following:
$('a[href^="http://"]').attr({target: "_blank", title: "Opens in a new window", href: "/redirect/"+$(this).href});
So the idea being that I open all external URLs in a new window but I load a page called /redirect (which is my own page) but I pass to it the URL I want to redirect too.
This is not working as each time I click my link my URL is:
/redirect/undefined
How would I go about chaning the ID element tag through Java?
I want to create a function that checks through all the ID tags called mytag and then append to the end of it mytag0 or whatever number comes next. I was trying to disable many form objects in my html document and since they share the same ID It only disables the first ID it encounters so Instead of manually renaming them al, Id rather create a function that would search for the Id name mytag and just change the name with whatever number, Im guessing it will work fine because once it renames the ID tag it will pick up the next ID because it will be next in line with the name and just While Loop the whole thing untill such ID is not found. I do not know how to reassign ID's.
I'm having 3 images work as 3 buttons. I want to make them when the user clicks on one of them it changes it's image and the image of the other 2 div tags.
Here's my html code
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-W3CDTD XHTML 1.0 TransitionalEN" "[URL]">
<html xmlns="[URL]">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/javascript" href="js/Javascript.js" />
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function changeDiv_ToEnglish() .....
And here's my css code for only the 3 divs
@charset "utf-8";
/* CSS Document */
#empty {
width:69px;
height:40px;
float:left;
} .....
The problem is : nothing occurs when I click on the arabic , english , japanese divs.
I want to write a program that change the color of blocks and text on each block in a web page by it.You know in a web page we have many blocks and each blocks we have texts and may be shapes.So,I want to assign three(3) code to each block and text and also shape on each blocks so by selecting each of them,the color of each 3 items[ above items;the color of background of blocks,color of text on the blocks and the color of shape on the bolcks ] changed immediately and automatically.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to run window.open() via href (not via onclick) as the CMS I'm working on only allows setting the href, not the whole <a> tag. I'm doing this: <a href="javascript: window.open('myUrl.php');">click this</a> and the window pops up just fine but the originating page changes to blank with '[object Window]' in it. How can I prevent the originating page from changing URL (by adding something to the javascript call)? Like "return void;" or something - but of course that didn't work...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a web page having textbox and an update button. My need is to display data in the text box when page is loaded. After that when I click on the textbox it will become an input textbox and can enter data. when data entered completely, click on the update button, after that newly entered data must be displayed on the text box. i.e same text box will be used for input and output data.
I created my web page using html. I knew that, by using ajax i can implement the above functionality. but i didn't get any idea to write the code.
How can I change the text color in a span tag after a refresh?

I'm currently in the process of making a spreadsheet like webpage and it all working fine... However I have been using setAttribute and removeAttribute in order to dynamically change a table cells onclick property.
This of course does not work in IE7 etc and I've been banging my head against a brick wall trying to come up with a solution that will work in all browsers but I just can't seem to get it to work with using methods such as...
I get all sorts of not implemented, type mismatch errors when I try to use the above.
Below is the setAttribute code which works.
I want to be able to match all <a> tags on a Web page that are external links, which would be signified by the href attribute starting with "http://", obviously. Then I want to add an attribute to the matching tags.
I ran across this script that is supposed to do that:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$('a[href^=http://]').attr('target','_blank');
});
</script>
But it doesn't work. I don't understand regex very well yet, so I'm not sure if that part of it is right, but the jQuery syntax looks correct to my inexperienced eyes.
I know jQuery is working on the site already, the script is below the call the the jQuery library, and yes, I do have the script in the Head tag of the page...
I'm using a service to remotely create a pdf - it creates a pdf of the page you're on. Unfortunately that includes the link as well. I'd like to push the pdf generator to a slightly different url which would remove the offending link. The link I have is:

but it is not fooled! It seems I need to edit location.href but I don't know how to do it!!
I found this slide show [URL]. I got it to work on my website [URL] using Firefox, but when it is viewed in Internet Explorer it will not work. Second question, When the slide show gets to the last image, after the last image all photos disappear and it resets itself changing the format of the webpage. Any way to not have the images disappear while it loops itself or is there a code to have it stop on the last photo and not loop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change html tags without touching the inner html? For example, changing all h4 elements to an h2. Maybe something like this? jQuery('h4').replaceWith('<h2>' + (this).html + '</h2>');
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the following code (simplified version) to call a Json file, parse it and on each iteration, create a div with an ID of "tab". I'm using this with jQuery UI .tab() to create a listing with entries which have three tabs. Anyhow, the principle seems to work except that when I examine what's happening behind the scenes using Firefox console, I see that each href in the html code produced is causing the Json function to re-fire using the href as it's url target.

I am trying to display a webpage from another domain and tried to access its elements and I am facing issues with this.
I tried using "iframes" and am facing cross domain issues.
All that I want to do is, set and get the attributes of the elements of the webpage from the other domain (eg: set text field value, get dropdown box values, click button etc)
Is there a way to get this job done?
I thought of browser addons however it will be a browser specific solution.
